Growing up in Japan, KFC and Japanese Christmas cake is definitely a tradition for Christmas. The reason why fried chicken is a tradition goes back to when KFC was trying to bring a comfort food to the foreigners there, like a thanksgiving meal....and it just caught on...

In Japan people book 2 months in advance for their fried chicken from KFC for Christmas. There is also such type of craze for fruit cake Edit: idk why but I grinned like a mad person while typing fruit cake.

The special thing with KFC during Christmas is that they get a whole Chicken or even a whole Turkey during christmas when you preorder it, plus they get a whole chocolate cake and a little gift during Christmas time at KFC Japan.

The reason the biscuits are dry you are supposed to use the butter and honey on them I had that problem.. the chicken doesn't look the same as the us!!! Epic vlog be safe out there. Respect

@@daneciacornwall9355 I told her she was insane the day she left for Japan from California because Japan was already getting hit with the virus and every thing in the United States is getting shut down including Disney world and Disney Land and California is where she is from and it is bad there. She has been in Japan for a long time now which is odd and I'm starting to think she is stuck there for the moment

I agree. The fries at Japan's KFC are soggy, and the chicken isn't crunchy like in the West. But because they don't sell turkey here at Xmas I also buy KFC for Xmas. I think stores started selling KFC for Xmas as a marketing thing, similar to how chocolate stores in Japan sell chocolate on Valentine's day and white day (white chocolate day 3/14).

Kfc biscuits are good fresh for about first 10 min after that they colder n harder. Also kfc is suppose to butter the biscuits when done I’m sure some locations have workers who slack on this.

Even though you eat fast, and the chicken must be hot to be at its best. I know when it sits it gets steamy soggy not crisp. The sandwich was eaten first.

KFC for X-mas dinner was a marketing ploy started in the 70's and just stuck, the same with X-mas cake (Strawberry shortcake). X-mas is a night for couples and date night in Japan. I only go to KFC when they have a deal. On the menu, they were promoting half price nuggets but the nuggets aren't that good.

A bit of trivia per WIkipedia: in 1970, the manager of the first KFC in Japan (Takeshi Okawara) marketed fried chicken "party barrels" as a Christmas meal intended to serve as a substitute for the US turkey dinner (and a way to celebrate Christmas in Japan, since turkey isn't as easy to get in Japan as it is in the USA). In 1974 it went nationwide in Japan as "Kentucky Christmas"/"Kentucky for Christmas" and has since been a widely practiced Japanese custom (and every Christmas Eve, Christmas sales are 5% of annual KFC Japan revenue).

Am Scottish but have lived in Thailand for years the kfc here is terrible it’s all brown chicken no white chicken breast meat but the chicken gravy is so dam tasty!!!!!

I haven't been to KFC in years they say that KFC doesn't have real chicken it is some kind of bird with 4 legs. It doesn't taste like kfc any more I hope enjoyed your meal.
