The song was off the Rising Album (Mk2 lineup), Ritchie Blackmore (Guitar), Ronnie James Dio (Vocals), Cozy Powell (Drums), Jimmy Bain (Bass) and Tony Carey (Keyboard). However the video was dubbed with the much of the MK3 line up from the 1977 Munich concert (which is awesome), bass guitar was switched to Bob Daisley and the keyboards was changed to David Stone. Rainbow was the 3rd real band for Ronnie, Rainbow was Ronnie's biggest break. After Rainbow, Ronnie went on to Black Sabbath and then his own band.

The Dio era many of the songs were fairly long. I highly recommend seeing the actual live concert show with the songs like "Mistreated" (some of the best Dio vocals), "Catch the Rainbow" and "Kill the King". The song "Kill the King" (song about the game of chess) is consider by many to be the beginning of metal music. The tempo is very fast and sound is hard. However this band was very diverse. "Catch the Rainbow" and "Rainbow Eyes" are softer ballad style songs that are very easy listening. Rainbow went on to different eras where the lead singer changed and so did the format of Rainbow. Instead of the longer harder songs, they became radio friendly with songs like "Since You've Been Gone" (Graham Bonnet on vocals), "Stone Cold" (Joe Lynn Turner on vocals), and "Ariel" (Doogie White on vocals).

We'll be giving those songs a listen. "Kill the King" sounds very interesting. Can't wait to hear it. Thanks for watching and the info.

The band lIneup was Blackmore on GuItar, Do on vocals, Cozy Powell Drums JImmy BaIn Bass and Tony Carey Keyboards. DIo's lyrIcs were fantasy based often wIth a hIdden moral message - thIs message was not to follow false Idols. You should check out the live versIon of KIll the KIng, MIstreated, or Man on the SIlver Mountain. RaInbow was Blackmore's band - he recruIted DIo from Eld and they released three albums before they fell out

Cozy Powell was one of the best drummers ever, RIP Cozy bud, Dio is a fantastic singer RIP Ronnie and Blackmore is peerless on guitar. Stargazer is probably in my top 10 of all time songs Main order of bands for Dio is Elf (who supported Deep Purple in 1973), Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio then Heaven and Hell (Black Sabbath without Ozzy) The first true Heavy metal was Black Sabbath in 1969 also Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, In 1975 Motorhead and Rainbow formed along with many bands who became the new wave of heavy metal in 1980/1 at the same time Thrash started to come to the fore with bands like Venom, Bathory and Mercyful Fate, The UK has been a real boiling pot of Heavy Rock and Heavy Metal since the 70s and still is today

We'll try. A lot of times, You tube nails us on copywrite claims if we let it go too long, so the video has to be taken down. Thanks for your input and for watching.

Interesting experience for me was seeing Dio with Rainbow live and after two songs (Kill the King and Mistreated), Dio said they couldn't continue like this and they left the stage and did not return. I have heard a couple of stories, one was that the giant Rainbow was causing feedback and affected their sound. The next show was cancelled and then Dio left Rainbow (or was fired). So, I essentially was at the very last live performance of Ronnie James Dio in Rainbow. Actually, it sounded amazing to me and Mistreated was the most amazing singles song I every saw and heard live and I've seen a lot of greats (Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath (also with Dio), Judas Priest, UFO, Iron Maiden and others).

Actually this work was previous to Black Sabbath. Stargazer was released in 1976. In 1979 Black Sabbath fired singer Ozzy Osbourne in dio almost immediately Departed with rainbow to join them. The breakup of rainbow was largely due to irreconcilable differences between Ronnie Dio and Ritchie Blackmore.

Ya'll.need to stop pausing the song every 5 seconds and you would understand the song.they spent 9 years to build a tower to watch the wizard fly only to fall to his death and alot of people died building the tower.

The song Stargazer was actually part 1 of the story. A Light in the Black was part 2. Both songs made up side 2 of the Rainbow Rising album (Rainbow's 2nd album).

A simple suggestion for your channel: We understand that you need to stop videos for copyright reasons, but try putting up a gesture right before you do. That way the listeners know when it’s about to happen.

I'm confused what the song title "stargazer" has to do with you being a "faith-based Christian band." It's permissible for Christians to gaze the stars, as far as I know.
