Those are the best eating size! I’ve noticed in years past when my state stocks the larger trout, yeah they put up a better fight and more fun to catch, but the meat isn’t as good. The smaller trout are still fun to catch but just taste so much better

Hope they like it there as much as they do here ✊🏼 you may have to experiment with colors a little bit. Sometimes they like one a lot more than another. It varies every day

That’s how it used to always be here. I was very surprised it wasn’t as crowded as it used to be. A lot more people were showing up when we left though. People don’t like to be out there at 5am when it’s 34 degrees out, they like to wait until it warms up a bit 😅

Look up on Illinois website and find where they stock then go there. It's not hard.

Not to be negative or anything but if you are catching them the first or second week when they stock them that’s illegal … you got to wait til mid April to take them home. That’s not fair to others who wait.
