I once (Back int he 1980's) knew a couple who were struggling financially after the birth of their first kid, the bills for that, one losing a job, and having to move all in the same summer. Their car had also recently died. I bought a Ford Escort wagon from my boss for around $100 (She said it was twice what the dealer was willing to give her for it as a trade-in). Over a week and a half, I replaced pads and rotors, bled the brakes, did an oil and filter change, put on WalMart tires, washed, waxed and vacuumed it out, and gave it to my friends. The engine died about 2-1/2 years later, but it got them through a tough episode and only cost me around $400 or so to do.

my wife and i are going through the same thing, she was diagnosed in january with an extremely rare cancer (aggressive tumor in her hip). we have a 2014 caravan that i repair on my own as much as i can and can fully appreciate everything you are doing for them, thank you for being a great human being and helping these folks

Well done ray and eric. We can only do what we can do. For my small part i go to the local red cross every 1-2 weeks to sit in a chair for almost 2hrs to donate platelets and also plasma. Through this we are doing our part to give cancer patients a fighting chance.

my wife died of Breast Cancer complications and this is a great thing you are doing Ray. Money seems to just disappear in copays, prescriptions, specialized foods, diagnostics, fuel, medical supplies, lost time at work...its a lot and this will absolutely help!!

Lovely project. A minor warning. Chrysler had a casting problem on some early Pentastar cylinder heads. They did not recall them, but gave an extended warranty. Check the casting numbers.

I have a friend I worked with. A customer came up from Florida and overheated up here. Massachusetts. He diagnosed it and the head gasket went. He managed to get the van the same day from the couple, who by this point was fed up with it. Free van. Yes 3.6. Sent out both heads, had them tested and plained, back together and still driving it 😂😂😂
