Rainwater Harvesting Tank - poured concrete & gravel foundation [OFF GRID]

We install an OFF GRID rainwater tank to harvest and store water from our garden pavilion roof. In this first part of the series I build the forms and pour a concrete foundation wall, or curb, to hold the pea gravel that the tank will sit on. This tank is for harvesting rainwater for our flower and vegetable gardens. An off grid solar system will run the DC pump to feed the irrigation system around the pavilion.

Flawless execution, but I question the extra work for the dry well, will the water not just soak into the ground thru the gravel?

Great video! My question isn't related to the subject matter, but about the fence. What are you keeping out? It looks like it is 12 feet tall and electrified =)

I got a load of 8 foot cedar posts cheap so I used those for our garden fence. They are buried 2 feet deep so that leaves only a 6 foot tall fence. Deer can jump 7 feet so I added some wire above that to take it to 8 feet. And it works well. No deer have jumped it.
