Have watched all your videos. This video, is by far the best "how to" on U Tube. Anyone wanting to build a skoolie, needs to watch your video. I think you and Wess Lewis, need to start a business together, traveling the country, helping others build their skoolie. Looking forward to all your travel videos. I have lived and worked on the the road in an RV for the last fourteen years. I just bought, what I think will be the ideal retirement RV. 2008 Itasca Nation IQ CL. Couldn't. afford a new one, but found with only 23,000 miles, diesel with diesel generator. Previous owner was a craftsman like Jim and did all kind of things to make it more livable for a full timer. I enjoy all do and someday on the road, our paths might cross. Happy and safe travels.

Is by far the most comfortable practical looking conversion I've ever seen. It is more like home than any other conversion out there. It also is built to last and to house a family and to hold up and withstand travel and living in it. It's actually a well-built home. It doesn't look like something just slapped together for a home fashion video. It is actually something that I could live in, anybody could live in, comfortably for years to come. Absolutely fabulous! The man is a genius.

So envious of people who convert these into marvelous homes. I am going to be 68 next November and I still can only dream of living out the rest of my life the way you wonderful people are living. I lost everything in a house fire in 2008. The same year my husband was laid off. So, right after that we sold our house but didn't make any money on it. We ended up in a retirement community and had to settle for a horrible fixer upper which we can't fix up. My husband almost passed away, April of 2019, when he had a very long seizure. He has (Tonic Clonic) epilepsy all his life. He worked faithfully, hardly ever missing a day for 40+ years. His job was very dangerous for a man with his condition. They fired him after working there for several decades. Maybe it's a blessing because he was a gate guard and had to deal with many large tractor trailer trucks all day. Six days a week. I ought to know, because I had to drive him to work every day since we met. People who have epilepsy are not allowed to drive. So, here we are as unhappy as can be with only a tiny amount of money coming in monthly. Just enough to pay only mortgage, since his paycheck is gone. We had hopes and dreams too. His epileptologist/doctor wants him on SSDI. After all, he paid into the system most of his life and he really has a handicap. Even though he loved working. We tried getting SSDI two times on our own and they denied us. We've been waiting a long time now trying to get a court date to try again for his SSDI. They claim epilepsy is difficult to prove which must be some sort of joke, since he has proof of it and almost died. Anyway, that's why we are so sad and so sick and tired of life going this way for us. We absolutely love seeing all these hundreds of videos about how people live and how they took charge and built such wonderful things. God bless you all, we both say. We're so proud to see good people living well. It's how it should be. We're frightened, because we don't want Welfare. They give us a hard enough time trying to get food stamps which my husband gets so embarrassed about. Some of his family, and especially his cousins, labeled us already, not caring that his doctor remains adamant about him receiving SSDI. lol Oh my Lord. I just realized I wrote all this to a stranger. Forgive the lengthy process of all this when all I really want to say; "Nice RV". Best of luck.

Not only is it NICE to see a more mature couple, but a couple who still likes being near each other AND a hip couple at that! You both have plenty game (knowledge and skills) and "bling". Wow, that kitchen rocks. I do suggest that you both with pen and pad or better, a laptop, walk through the entire bus inside and out and document EVERYTHING in some sort of chronological order including and especially tech specs, brands, layout, etc. Digitize this and save a copy offsite and give a copy to your most reliable offspring for safe keeping. Role assignments are OK, I guess, but the wife should know just as much as the husband even if only for resale of the bus one day if Mr. Man is no longer around or in right mind. As we age, memory tends to decrease depending on diet, exercise, genetics, etc. Document it all. This bus is valuable and packed with luxuries. Heated floors! Wow. No woman should ever not know just like every man should know how to properly handle a kitchen and feed himself healthy fresh food. You guys ROCK! P. S. This not hardly tiny living. It is more like downsized living!

Tiny house, Hobbit house, Tree house 😆 or a bus. I’ve always known if it was a bus it would have to be roomy or the illusion and look of being not cramped. Yours is the very, very best design by far than any others I’ve seen in the last ten years most assuredly!!!!! If I ever have the opportunity to find the Joy that you two have, What a Blessing it will be.

@@gypsierose3611 Main reason is JOY! Enjoying doing what you want to and being with the one you love. Second, closely related reason is to travel, to be able to get out and go, seeing America, or maybe adding in Canada too. Plus it's having no airports and flights, nor is it hotel stays, restaurants, or rental cars. All of which is extremely expensive. They are never uttering these sentences, "Where's our luggage? It was flown to where? When will we get it?". It is all about personal comfort, it is home! "Home Sweet Home", I might add. Plus, with them, it is very well organized, even down to having an itemized list of what's stored in the beneath storage! If I could do this, I would be in a heart beat!

I have watched many bus built homes, but this is the best one yet, if ever God blessed me to live in a bus home I would like my home to be like this one, Blessed, you truly are.

This is a full size apartment! Kitchen, bathroom, shower, washer and dryer. Wow! The system is so efficient. Something like this brand new on the market would easily be 200k Perfect!

I was just about to say, this has got to be the closest I've seen to having everything a normal house would. The wife really made sure of that and the husband made it happen!

There's also a lot of high end equipment in this mobile home. So im sure the price would be at least $4-500k easily. Jim has a very creative mind nd gifted whereas he can pretty much make nd fix almost anything. What I like most of all, is the fact that it wasn't just "a man's world" he was most careful nd thoughtful about making things to accommodate & pleasing to his wife; down to the most minut detail. He included his wife in the decision making process, nd took into consideration, her likes nd dislikes. Jim knows the value of having a happy wife, nd that it pretty much guarantees that he'll have a happy life! 💏 🤵👰🏻 🚍👬🐩

When I first saw over 50 minutes... I thought I would skip along and get tidbits. But I sat through the whole video, and loved every minute. You did an amazing job not only on the conversion , but the descriptive tour. Very easy to listen to. Love you guys, wish you were my grandparents lol. Thanks for this.

I also don't normally watch all of the longer vids, thought I'd be skipping bits too, but no, I had to listen to the whole thing because they're such sweet people and I had to listen to what they had to say about their home. Tbf, I'd love to see what the pair of them could do with a double decker bus.

I love this couple and their bus! He is an amazing craftsman and artist. That 'quick' paint job he said on the outside of the bus is beautiful!! Beautiful kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, etc. I love how they all feel like separate rooms! And he did this all by himself! Freaking amazing!! Plus room for grandkids. He's thought of everything.

I really enjoyed your blog. As a 60+yo retired doctor of nursing, I can truly see the benefits, sacrifices and adjustments required to living off grid, safely, efficiently, and without being tied down to a traditional home base location for long periods. When you are traveling/visiting and have dinners engagements, parties, doctor's appointments, etc, do you use Uber or Lyft for these times, or do you just take the Joy. I can't imagine the facial expression of the valets. Thanks for the intimate look at life on the Joy.

Love this couple! They describe things so well & they’re super organized & it shows in their designing of this conversion! Very impressed! So much thought went into this & being a senior myself, it’s nice to see seniors showing others how it should be done! Way to go!
