I feel like you have more fun making controller configs for games rather than playing them ;) This was another great video and I learned something new.. Been looking into customizing more things on my controller recently and I didn't even realize a radial menu was an option. Keep up the great vids!

If valve allowed you to change the size of the center input/ make a deadzone for the outer ring on the radial menu, then you could totally do edge taps for a radial menu, while retaining mouse movement for the center

Awesome tip on adding more buttons to make the center bigger, I flipping love that! I use a radial menu under the right pad but the center is so small and i use it often for crouch.

man you get me inspired to make some crazy configs for games and shit. when I first used the steam controller I made some complicated but nice ones for division... to bad that game ended up being a shallow let down.

I'm finding the UI for the radial menu is quite buggy. Sometimes the display doesn't disappear when you stop touching the pad and you have to touch it and let go again to get it to disappear. Also I wish they would give you an outer deadzome for the touch pad radial (even better, an outer deadzone that only applies until you touch the middle, then deactivates so you can move your finger to the edge without closing the radial), as I am always triggering the radial menu when I press the B button. And I wish they would give you a way to add custom text instead of just the key names. I have done it with custom icons, but it would be so much easier if you could just specify particular text.

I'm having the same tap problem. It is pretty annoying but not game breaking I've yet to to find a way to fix it that doesn't involve changing the input from radial menu to that of a d-pad.

Hi, do you experience problems with the new updated Steam Overlay, too? I cannot use my Radial Menu anymore, it seems that the keys are not properly bound anymore to the butons although the controller setup is shown as usual. Also everytime i activate the new Overlay-Keyboard function it has a high propability to CTD. Anyone? I would play without the overlay, but I really miss the Radial Menu shortcuts and without overlay I cannot use it, can I?

Nice. i had issues with using an 8 input radial dial for mode-shift click. The center input just felt too small. Didn't realize adding more inputs made the center bigger. Wish they would just let you change the size of the center click regardless of how many inputs you're using. Also, i don't know if it's old news to you or not, but i've found that the activators in shift mode specifically don't work with inputs that have an interrupt request. Release Press, Long Press and Double Press all work, though, the inputs will overlap without the interrupt. Dunno how useful this information is, but it's something i figured out recently.

Hey Mr. Egg. How did you get your radial menu with that pure circular background? You know how on yours it shows a circular background with a slightly larger one that more transparent on yours? Mine has that Flat spot on the top where it displays the name of the binding/icon you select, with a half circle going around the radial menu on the bottom. No matter how many bindings a put in there it doesnt change into yours. I think its the default look but Its really annoying, I just want to look like yours. Did you modify the image files for something? I hope you know what Im talking about. I've also seen a radial menu with pie slices instead of circular bindings but i cant remember where I seen that, can't figure that one out either. :/ Also, My radial menu does this annoying thing where when i have it activated through touch or any other option, it stutters and selects once every 1.5-2 seconds like clockwork and the haptics thud. I found out by adding a modifier to it, it seems to stop but I dont want to have to do that, especially when using it for movement. Any suggestions on that? I can't seem to get this working while using mouse joystick. I don't really like mouse joystick but, as you are probably well-aware, some games just won't allow simultaneous mouse and controller input for some reason.

Interesting... I am curious how that would fair in a EVA gun battle. I use your original setup for Star Citizen myself. And I love it. Not sure how this setup would fair in a EVA gunfight, I'll have to try it and see. Thanks for the rambles.

Seems too complicated, *immediately* lost and have no clue what you are doing with this thing., it's a shame, cause I like the idea of the steam controller, but now it just sits in a drawer ever since I got it and after I tried it a few times. Kewl it works for you though.
