Hank learned a valuable lesson...well several actually. 1. Don't blame others for terrible accidents. 2. It's alright to love your machine, but when it's their time you have to let go. 3. Sometimes you have to take a chance with something new. 4. Never fix a pickup truck on train tracks.

Time is the underlying theme of the episode. That truck represented a huge part of Hank's life (his time if you will) and he had to let it go. It's akin to a kid going off to college, or someone starting a new job, or dating someone. There are special markers for points in someone's life and Hank's major milestones were during the time he had that truck. So losing that truck was like losing a piece of his life.

My grandpa has a 2004 limited edition 2004 Chevy Trailblazer North Face package. Only 50 were made. I came with a built in TV, sleeping bags Luggage bags, roof rack, light sprayers, built in everything. It was $50,000 new. It only left him stranded once when it got a flat tire. Then it got old. And it sat from 2018-2019. He sold it for $3,000. Turns out the whole entire frame was so rusted that it was about to fall apart. So lucky we sold it before that. We used the money and got a Polaris Trail-blazer. How ironic.

I think for Hank it goes beyond just loving an old truck. That truck was with him for so many big milestones in his life: his marriage, his son, his happy years with his family and friends, etc. Letting go of the truck is like letting all of those things go, and it's hard to believe that times are changing. The memories are still there but the truck was a tangible reminder of those good times. But it's just a truck. It's like my parents' house in Arlington, TX. They lived there for over 25 years. It's where I was raised and spent almost 2/3s of my lifetime. I was so sad when they left because I wouldn't be able to show my son where I grew up. But at the end of the day, it's just a house. My friends in the area had long since moved away, my schools' teachers probably don't remember me, and the area just isn't the way it once was. Time goes on. But you'll always have the memories and pictures. Those are what keep you looking ahead.

I can relate to this episode a lot. We had a 1993 Dodge Dakota regular cab with a 5.2 V8, it had 3 owners in it’s life, My father’s boss, my father, and my grandfather. We didn’t have another car after my mother’s 1996 Nissan Altima broke, so my father’s boss offered the truck to the family in 2005. I absolutely loved the truck and named it James because it was red like James the red engine. Then my grandfather owned it after it gave us computer issues, it was a replacement to his 1987 Chevrolet S10. Then in July of 2017 we got rid of it and canceled the insurance and I took James’ license plate to honor him. I still miss him to this very day. RIP James the red truck 1992-2017 You will always be remembered in my car heart :(

I still miss my first car, 99 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. It was in terrible shape seeing as how it used to be a ex patrol car. I spent many months fixing it up and making it look nice and babying it. After 3 years, I sold it and I immediately regretted it. I’m just glad I’ve got pictures with it and that way I can always remember it.

I was just in Hanks Shoes not too long ago. My beloved 2006 Accord, it got smacked in the rear. I refuse to let it go, still have to this day. The devastation of the accident was surreal, I cried over the car, because it has sentimental significance to my heart. Had it for a long time

While not a truck, I shed a tear when my parents traded in their ‘08 Saturn Outlook. Sure it was old and had well over 180k miles, but it was strong and saved my parents and I from two accidents. I shed another tear of disappointment when I found out what they traded it in for. A freaking minivan...

I can relate. We had to put down our 2000 Chevy Tahoe after 200000 miles. It was like a part of my childhood gone. I was hoping for a chevy truck but my parents got a 2016 GMC Yukon. It’s not a chevy tahoe like i was hoping for but i’m thankful it’s similar to it.

Hmmm... i thought Hank would have bought this Truck from Ted Danson and gotten his special deal. It sppears as though, when he tells bobby to say that he hates it, that he is well aware of not paying sticker price.

I can relate to this episode all too well. My grandpa has a 1990 Ranger XLT SuperCab, just like Hank's old one, only pale blue. Just like Hank's Ranger, it's starting to wear out. I just don't want it to suffer the same fate as his did :( Too many memories made in that thing... Oh, and on another note, the company my dad works for had an '04 Crown Vic as a rental car that we had to sell recently. I miss riding around in that old boat. It was the ultimate highway cruiser - rear wheel drive with a big V8 up front. I wish American cars were still like that.

My first truck was a '94 Chevy 1500 that was 2wd. Oil seeped from the block, would sometimes slip from 1st to 2nd gear, and was covered in scratches, dents, and has rust on the bottom. But, I loved that truck, so many good memories. I sold it to a friend of a friend, but I wish I hadn't. I just hope he takes good care of her.

My dad had a 1998 black Ford f250 light duty, it's one of the coolest trucks I've ever been in. I remember all those times went over the mountains to go hunting at 2:00 a.m. just for a day trip. It was the first thing I really got to drive at 14. That's what brought us back after got my first pheasant and ducks, and all the hours we went deer hunting. We want stroll 50 mi The air coming out of attire patching it up with gum and plastic tape just so we could get to the nearest tire shop. About 5 years ago my dad came to the conclusion after working on it for so long, and with all the problems that it ended up having, he couldn't afford to fix it himself or have it fixed, ended up needing an engine swap. Truck sat in the driveway until last December. Finally got it sent to the junkyard. I'll always miss that truck

This episode is my favorite episode in King of the Hill. It shows us that we should embrace with what is new when it is time to let go of what is old. This rings true when it comes to vehicles. I have owned an 07 Impala and an 01 Bonneville SSEi and both cars broke down on me with one of them being worked on to get it fixed so my gf can use it to drive herself to work when necessary. For me, I can't drive the other one as it has too many problems with the engine misfiring just like Hank's Ford. I tried fixing the throttle body, replacing the alternator, changing the MAF sensor, etc and nothing worked. So I decided to go to a dealership to get me a brand new car to drive daily. And what I've found was a 2020 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback. I decided to test drive it a little bit to get a good feel on the car. The suspension feels nice, acceleration is sporty, transmission shifts good, everything basic works like a charm. So now I own 3 cars to my name with the Honda Civic being a new addition to my family. Just like with Hank and his Ford Ranger, I too didn't wanna let go of my old cars. They did me so well in the past during my teenage years that they are the reasons for where I am now in life: a good job, a loyal gf, amazing friends, 2 fantastic hobbies, a nice warm apartment, all while still pushing through my 20s. This episode of King of the Hill taught me that sometimes there are times where I need to embrace with the new where I can do the things that I need get done in life while letting go of the old where they've served their purposes in aiding in my old life.

The love people have for cars is amazing. My dad had a green 1996 Cherokee Classic growing up, with the AMC 4.0 I6. It rusted beyond repair in 2010, and he replaced it with an F-150. I miss it, the truck just feels too big and clumsy to me, even if it's been a decade. That small SUV experience led me to buy a Subaru Forester, which I now cherish and has kept me safe in an accident already. Hopefully I get a good long run out of my little Fozzy :)

This what non car people struggle to understand, over time your vehicle becomes an entity in itself, it becomes a member of the family instead of a possession, a friend something you can count on and when it ever comes to the time to part ways, very emotional.

I first saw this episode when it originally aired. I was probably an early teen. I thought Hank crying over his truck was done for comedic effect, but now that I’m in my late 30s, I totally understand now. My truck that was originally my dad’s got messed up by some old lady who cut me off on the freeway and I was devastated. I was scared it was gonna be considered a total loss. I remember being taken to school in that truck. It’s so reliable. Thankfully, the repairs are too big and I’ll be driving again this week.

This speaks to me in an emotional way, I had an Opel Astra H from 2007 (I named her Schwi), yet I learn to drive in the Honda Accord V6 from my mom and used in my test drive, I love my little Schwi, I had my first real date, we had some really nice track days and even camping nights but 2 months ago started mixing oil and coolant, I tried my best to rescue her but I couldn't, now I have an Mazda 3 2.5 2018 but it's not the same, I miss her but I guess she also wanted me to have something better.
