I’m guessing the next hardware will be a Rane EIGHT which will be the FOUR but with motorized platters.

I don't understand why motorized platters one year next they go away from it and makes it like the ddj1000 displays. Now next year they'll come with the same controller but motorized platters I'm willing to bet money on it. It's all a ploy to get our money every year!

For all those bemoaning the absence of moving platters, I hear you. That said, if you actually get your hands on a Rane Four, you might be pleasantly surprised. The jogs feel fantastic, perfectly weighted for cutting and scratching. Admittedly, if you tend to do a ton of beat juggling, then you’ll be better off with the Rane One, Twelves or actual turntables for full blown turntablism routines.

Weighs too much to have motorized platters. I personally don't care. I want Stem control on motorized platters. When? Take my money!!!

the rane one was my favourite dj controller of all time as it offered the normal things you will find on a high end dj controller with the addition of the motorised jog wheels which really made you stand out . but now all i see with the rane 4 is a ddj 1000 or flx10 with only stem controls

The FLX 10 doesn't have paddle FX or OLED screens on the actual controller. In general, the Rane Four is far more advanced if you ask me...

How does the 4 work withiut a laptop?

I have a big problem with latency, especially with the hot cue pads. They react quite sluggishly. It is hardly possible for me to call up the cues with pinpoint accuracy. No comparison to my Prime4 or the DDJ1000-SRT. Here everything runs smoothly. Serato and the controller are up2date. A Macbook Pro M1Pro works as a laptop. The controller was already at the dealer. This could of course determine nothing. Also the Rane support does not know what to do. So the controller makes no fun in any case. Does anyone of you have a similar problem.

In person they’re not flashing, it’s just due to the camera frame rate. But I agree, it’s hard to look at.

was not the point of the Rane controller the spinning platter? It's what separated them from Numark, Pioneer (Minus the Rev7), etc. I feel like now it's just another hypothetical person in the already crowded streets of a proverbial New York City. IMO of course. Maybe they'll come back with the motorized platter in the future...
