There is one great thing about Shadow the Hedgehog... It's that the cinematic scenes we're all animated by *Jeff Fowler.* A man who'd years later would become director of the first two Sonic movies and be widely regarded (alongside Tyson Hesse) for fixing the Ugly Sonic design.

You called your 06 take nostalgia filled but if anything it's exactly the opposite, you're one of the only people on KZfaq I've encountered giving the game a fair shot and pointing out both negatives AND positives that aren't just the OST which people use as a scapegoat. Everyone else's reviews and takes on this platform on 06 make them come off as the most unlikeable extremists ever, the way most of them talk feels like they've never even played 06 to begin with, yours felt genuine and objective. Nostalgia clearly played no factor here.

Tbh, I don't really have much of a problem with getting to the past in Sonic CD. I honestly find it to be fun and satisfying in some levels. The thing I HATE is finding the machines in the past.

My favorite still has to go to Generations, 2 amazing gameplay styles, fun and very replayable levels, many missions to try, amazing music from all across the series, and the amount of love and respect that the game gives to all titles it includes is a joy to any Sonic fan.

As someone who also loves Heroes, due to it being my first Sonic game (I was more of a TV show fan before getting the games at first), I can absolutely approve the 1st place ranking. Plus Heroes introduced me to my favourite character, Vector the Crocodile.

This video felt refreshing, as I find most sonic discussions tend to repeat themselves. But your calmer and more forgiving approach was a nice change of pace.

Holy crap, finally someone who enjoys both Day and Night segments of Unleashed. I always felt like it got unfairly bashed on.

Infinite's backstory does also have the part of his siblings AKA Jackal Squad being killed and that adding fuel to the fire. But it really feels more like how you summarized it.

The 10 endings in Shadow are "what if" scenarios where he follows the whims of everyone else telling him who he is. The last story isn't connected to the endings and Shadow doesn't remember much about his past by the end of the game as he throws the picture of Maria and Gerald away, saying goodbye to himself. He chose to become a new character instead. It's an interesting game but ofc I don't agree with them replacing old Shadow. At least his death scene in SA2 wasn't for nothing. Pariah695 made a good video on the story which changed my mind on the game.

About Number 11, It's honestly so *refreshing* to hear a fan like you say some positive things about 06 while also acknowledging It's issues. (It took me a few months to find good in 06) I wish people gave the game another chance, kinda like how we gave the Prequel Trilogy a chance. Btw, I'm very happy you made a ranking list. Just hearing you talk about Sonic games and stuff from bad to good is so... Satisfying!

Frontiers, in my opinion, is top freaking notch. I was stoaked when the trailer was announced and couldn't wait until the official release. Although, the frame rate, depending on what platform you play on(?) and I was a bit confused about Sage. Like, when she trapped Sonic's friends and tried to stop him because this whole time he was freeing The End? What choice did he have? But other than that, the game is unbelievably fun to play and the writing was freaking incredible along with the soundtrack.

Idk if you've played it before, but if not I *HIGHLY* recommend playing P-06. its a remaster that aims to fix the issues of 06 and is generally really fun.

When I noticed the DLC for more playable characters, it made me wondered if they were originally gonna make Tails, Knuckles, and Amy playable in the story to somehow save Sonic from the cyber corruption until they rushed the other half of Sonic Frontiers.

Sonic CD's issue is that it's much more of an exploration game, rather than a regular Sonic game. If you go through the game with the mindset of finding Past gates, the perfect spot and/or way to time travel, and learn the Robot Capsule and/or Metal Sonic Projectors locations, it suddenly * clicks *. That's it's only issue and the reason people are so split on it. It's very niche in it's approach hence why some enjoy it, and some don't. I personally love it.

I honestly like the vibe of Sonic CD, it's stands out from the rest of the classic games, the music, level names, and metal sonic felt more important than the other metal sonics in the classic games. Ngl, I spent months on the collision chaos boss

CD's level design is meant to be challenging. Little Planet is a confusing world, and time travel is meant to be hard to do because, as you mentioned, it requires you to be skillful and reflexive to time travel. That Good Future ain't just gonna be handed to you!

Also, say what you will about Shadow The Hedgehog, it’s got a pretty good OST. I also wish they did a bit more of the non linear missions in some of the levels. Too much of the game was “kill X enemies, kill the good guys to be evil kill the bad guys to be good.” The game could have been really unique and they really explored Shadows character in the wrong direction. Delving into his past and origins was really good, I love learning about the ARK and that lore. We really should have explored Shadows memories more.

To be completely honest, my favorite is CD. The music, the atmospheres, the new characters, the art style, and most importantly, the time travel. Yeah, it may suck but it just makes the zones so much more interesting, and it kinda saddened me that they lost part of what made them cool in Mania.

I feel like Shadow sliding around makes alot more sense. Gameplay wise it’s annoying but again he’s wearing air shoes. He’s not running and therefore has no traction.

Sonic CD might be my favorite classic Sonic game rn besides Mania. Matthasnocuts actually has a great video about Sonic CD and why it’s better than you might think. In summary, many people’s problem with this game is that they play it like a classic sonic game where you go from point A to point B, and because of that the weird level layout throws them off. Instead, Sonic CD is all about learning the level layouts and using it to your advantage to time travel and destroy all the generators in the past. This game only really works when you get all the good futures, which is its biggest feature as well as its biggest drawback.

I'm honestly just happy that you're someone who actually understands that Sonic Boom isn't mainline.

Honestly I can see why sonic heroes is a great game, I absolutely love how determined metal is to prove he’s the real sonic and will stop at nothing to do so even if it means tossing aside his own creator

Pretty agreeable ranking in my opinion. I am not completely sure if I would put heroes above SA1 and 2 personally, but it is definitely one of my top three Sonic games. Just like you, I remember being 4 years old and playing it on my Xbox whenever I boot it up. Its jank and my nostalgia aside, I still feel like it is a fun experience. When I replay it nowadays, I still have all the best shortcuts in my muscle memory, and I still always subconciously switch to the flight character when swapping rails just in case. Hang Castle is still forever one of my favorite 3D Sonic levels, both in terms of music and visuals.

I too sat cross legged with my gamecube +sonic heros at my grandma's...good times. Love that Unleashed was near the top, it is seriously underrated, down to the character dymanics and music alone for me. Great vid!!

My favorite (barring spinoffs because the storybook games have a special place in my heart) is probably Frontiers. Yeah the cyberspace levels aren't the best, but they have a fair bit of replayability if you're going for S ranks, and (almost) everything else is really solid. The story was good (opening 2 cutscenes alone were the best story we've had since Black Knight, and the rest elevates it up to being the same tier as the adventure games, hell aside from Gamma being replaced with Sage, the cast of characters is the same as Adventure 1) and does fanservice correctly with referencing past events in a way that's either plot relevant (as with the _Sonic 3 & Knuckles_ flashback) or is poking fun at previous games' flaws. Boss fights are fun, combat is fun, Sage is there and she is cute and deserves headpats, soundtrack is great especially titan fight themes, you can fosh with Big and the fishing being stationary makes it feel less like it's breaking up gameplay flow the way it did in Adventure 1 (like holy shit I'm actually enjoying Big the cat and fishing being in a Sonic game, what is this wizardry), etc. My only real gripes with the game so far (being around 4/5th through the Tails island) are: the 2D sections that break up the pace; the camera controls being one of your toughest enemies; and the goddamn koko quests that not only break up the pace, but are really aggravating.

As a Heroes speedrunner and lover, it’s always nice to see it get attention that I think it deserves! I look forward to the dedicated Heroes video and hey if for some reason you want a speedrunner’s help, lemme know lol. But fr tho, Sonic Heroes I think I a game a lot of people would appreciate if they played it more. It becomes better and more rewarding the more time you put into it, even casually. I had a full video script on this concept but never made the video, but I truly think it’s a game a lot of people could learn to love even without nostalgia!

11:10 I wouldn’t say he goes through his arc from SA2 again, and his arc in Shadow is still slightly different to Heroes. SA2 was him realizing his real promise. Heroes was him figuring out his past and declaring he’s still Shadow without them. And Shadow the Hedgehog was him learning his past, and declaring to form his own destiny instead of having others and his past tell him what to do. 12:10 Again it doesn’t, his arc leads to him not caring about Maria and saying Goodbye to the old Shadow the Hedgehog. Basically the games there to conclude the amnesia arc, but still not have exactly the same Shadow from SA2.

Probably one of, if not the most refreshing Sonic rankings I've seen. For one your list is not generic like most lists are, everybody's ranking is the same with the same opinions but your ranking is a lot different from others and it's so refreshing hearing some different opinions. Here's my ranking: 16. Sonic Forces (Talk about a gigantic fucking disaster from start to finish, SO much hype, SO much excitement, and so much promise only to be extremely disappointed with what we got, everything about this game is horrendous, need I say more) F- 15. Shadow the Hedgehog (I will give games credit for trying something new and different like this but it all relies on execution and that is a mess, the soundtrack on the other hand though is amazing) D Here on up these games are decent to good to great: 14. Sonic Lost World (probably the most bland game in the series, it was enjoyable and fun enough to play but nothing more that, feels more like a Mario rip off than a Sonic game and it's no question why it feels like that) C- 13. Sonic CD (The level designs are all over the place for me, it's has nostalgia, and it was the game that gave us Amy and Metal Sonic, and I did have some fun playing this game, I just don't know what I was doing while I was having fun, still a game that I think is good enough though) C+ 12. Sonic Colors (probably the biggest drop on my list, I had this game way higher before but after playing it 2 more times the flaws started to show way more, visually one of the most stunning games I've ever seen and the soundtrack is fucking awesome, but the story and characters and especially the writing is just so damn bad in this and there's times where the pacing really started to meander, to where now I say say this game is just solid) B- 11. Sonic O6 (Everything you said about is game is what I have to say, and I LOVE that, no where being a great game but it feels like everyone was focusing to much on the flaws with this game rather than the good because there are some really good things in this game, Princess Elise is what brings it down but still I think it's good enough) B- 10. Sonic Generations (I know this placement is gonna make others mad but here me out, on a gameplay level this game is a blast, and the level designs are amazing, lots of references and nostalgia, but in terms of story and characters, to me one of the weakest games in the franchise, one of the most fun games in the series but one of the lowest as far as story and characters) B+ 9. Sonic Unleashed (A game I enjoyed much more on my 2nd playing, still not one of my top 5 favorites Sonic games but I noticed the positives much more and to me the last good 3d Sonic game we got for a while) B+ 8. Sonic the Hedgehog (One of the first games I remember playing, and one of the most iconic games of all time, amazing music, looks great, and Green Hill Zone is iconic, tons of nostalgia and tons of memories, but as time goes on, it hasn't aged as well as it should, Green Hill and Starlight zone stages are great, but every other level made me wanna break something, but still a game I love and holds a special place in my heart) A- 7. Sonic Frontiers (I basically gave up on this franchise after Forces so I didn't have a whole lot of faith in this when it was announced, but after figuring out Ian Flynn was the writer for this game, that kinda peaked my interest, and I ended really liking it. It's not great, and there's still more room for improvement (hopefully🤞) and it feels more like a legend of Zelda; Breath of the Wild game rather than a sonic game, but the gameplay, the style, and the overall concept they go for with this open world game I think is fantastic, but the 2 biggest positives are the soundtrack and writing, which are both fucking incredible!. So I think this game is very solid and definitely got this franchise back on track) A- 6. Sonic Adventure 2 (it takes everything great about the first game and makes as a whole it might be better and Adventure 1, but I like revisiting the 1st one more) A- 5. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (I think everyone can agree that this one improves on almost everything that the original did, but certain stages do kinda drag and a couple can be a bit boring bit still a great sequel and very nostalgic) A 4. Sonic Heroes (Story wise, nostalgia wise, character wise, SOUNDTRACK wise, and writing is top 5 level great, but the problem is that you have to beat each level 4 different times to move on and it gets a little bit tireing after a while, to where its not the most replay able games in this franchise, but one of the most nostalgic and best storytelling Sonic games) A 3. Sonic Adventure (A game that just nails everything and what I love about this franchise, it's just so sad that they didn't go in this direction further along in the franchise) A These next 2 I have nothing to say about other then there just perfection, and in my top 10 favorite video games of all time. 2. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 When it comes to games and movies, I'm mostly a character and story guy, and when you give me a game or movie that's weak on those 2 things, it weights it down for me, even though there low I still like them a lot. Also I think the cyber levels only have four level designs because when they said most of the levels were going to be based off generations people weren’t all excited for that and some actually backlashed on it, so they probably cut some down and considered this game will have dlc than we might see more

Sonic Forces probably objectively deserves to be as low as you placed it but I had a very delightful experience with it that has won me over on it. I havent played a minute of that game sober, and the bad writing instead came off as absolutely hilarious to me. I got an insane amount of enjoyment from it, and ironic enjoyment or not I had a delightful time with it

Well first off I just want to say that I got SO excited when I saw that you uploaded. And I really like your opinion of these games. I haven’t played many Sonic games, because I don’t have access to them yet. And yet I still agree with all this. So thanks for making this video. And I hope you reach your next subscriber goal soon!

I will say there is one time, only one time where sonic forces can be fun. This is just my take. The game was only fun when you’re trying to complete it, not finish it complete it. I repeat, you only get any semblance of fun AFTER you finish the game. That’s because there are actual challenges to do, objects to get that are piss easy but not brainless. Some of those silver rings are a bit challenging. Trophy hunting that game for platinum was sort of fun for me at the end. I wasn’t having a blast but in comparison it’s the only moment in that game I wasn’t bored. This is an extreme inherent flaw, these days you have tons of games competing with each other. To ask a player to finish your game is asking a lot, especially if you could play something better. When this game can’t hold up on its own it’s a severe flaw. The fact that you need to finish a boring game in order to get some semblance of entertainment is absurd to me. This is just my take, I wonder if anyone else thinks anything different or similarly.

Sonic Frontiers is hands down my favorite. Mostly the characters and boss battles won me over.

While I can respect your dislike towards Sonic CD, I have to wonder, perhaps you never really got very familiar with the game in the first place? While yes, the level design can be confusing at times and some people don't like it, the reason why there are rings inside the walls, is because of the time travel mechanism. The level layout changes depending on wether you are in the past, present or future, making these otherwise stuck inside a wall rings available. One other thing that I think you should be made aware of, is the fact that you do not need to travel between the past/future, in order to get the games good ending. The easier and more enjoyable approach is to use the special stages to get all the Time Stones. This will unlock the good future and you'll get the good ending of the game. This is the way I among many others prefer to play, to make it a lot more like a traditional 2D Sonic experience.

To make a long story short, I just find the treasure hunting a more tedious version of SA's and the mech stages dreadful or boring, so I basically thing two thirds of the game are mid to outright bad. Everything else, story, OST, Sonic/Shadow stages etc I love just like everyone else ~~ 15. Shadow The Hedgehog - 6/10, do wanna point out how the "guns in Sonic is out of place, bad and cringe" argument is idiotic to put it mildly real quick. The Fleetway comics had guns, all 3 90s shows had guns, Archie Sonic comics had guns, hell the mainline timeline already had guns, Nack the Weasel in the Classic Era and Robotnik and G.U.N. soldiers in the Adventure Era. Criticism over the story is hypocritical since people criticize the inconsistencies and conveniences, if that's the case then we can literally rip every single mainline game no exceptions to shreds, we can rip SA2 wide open the same way as well. Dropping that hypocritical debate out of the window and looking at the plot through the same lense as the rest of the games, it's easily one of the best stories in the franchise. Easily the best villain of the franchise (Mephiles), easily the best soundtrack of the franchise, at the time the best acting in the franchise outside of SatAM, best character models in the franchise especially the main trio (deadass, if that Robotnik design originated from SA2 and not 06 people would have loved it, bias over 06 is that strong), best characterization of the established cast in the entire franchise, tied with IDW's comics (aside from Shadow, 06 steps on IDW Shadow any day). 06's frame rate is its only major issue (no, I don't think the glitches are, have played the game 3 times and I've almost never had an issue, plus loading screens are many but load super fast it is literally no big deal except if you're doing Town Missions), but since it's a big one so it definitely deserves points redacted from it. ~~ 7. Sonic Frontiers - 7.5/10, Meta Era is officially over with this bad boy, a new era begins, one that thankfully appears to feel very Adventure Era-ish, future looks bright ~~ 6. Sonic 3 & Knuckles - 8/10, I know I know, yet another kinda hot take, great game, just don't think it's as fun as 1 and 2, sometimes it feels too busy and I don't enjoy a lot of the Zones thematically, especially in comparison to the rest of the trilogy and CD. ~~ 5. Sonic 1 - 8/10 ~~ 4. Sonic 4: Episode II, 9/10 if you wanted to punch me before now you probably wanna kill me🥴, every time I look back on this game I think to myself "Yeah, it doesn't look or feel like a 9/10 game, what am I talking about?!", then I replay it and love almost everything about it every single time. I don't LOVE love it enough to die on a hill protecting it, I don't have any strong feelings towards it, go ahead it rip it to shreds if you so wish, I just think it's a great, short experience albeit forgettable AF story-wise ~~ 3. Sonic 2 - 9/10, best 2D Sonic has to offer (from mainline releases at least, I consider Advance 3 and Rush Adventure better) ~~ 2. Sonic Unleashed - 9/10, now THIS game I have strong feelings for, pretty sure it's universally agreed upon that Daytime Unleashed stages are the peak of the mountain that is the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. They feel like those fake, gamerbait E3 trailers from back in the day only not a bait and actually playable and as gorgeous as initially presented. Playing the Daytime stages of Unleashed to this day feels kind of unreal, I don't have the words to describe it but I also feel like I don't have to, most of you probably feel the same way. Also, Werehog? Fun AF, miss that stretchy guy. ~~ 1. Sonic Generations - 10/10 if I had to criticize anything here it would be the missed opportunity of making the Time Eater plot a Sonic 06 style of story, with that concept and stakes it'd have been epic. I adore the game on everything else. I have zero nostalgia for any Sonic game, having played no Sonic games throughout my childhood and teen years (got into Sonic after my military service in 2021) and yet Sonic Generations' references and callbacks bring a tear to my eyes. Racing Classic Tails as Modern Sonic with Super Sonic Racing from Sonic R in the background, facing Shadow on the ARK with Live & Learn in the background, playing Crisis City with His World, returning to the roofs of Spagonia with Endless Possibility on full blast. Generations feels like a Greatest Hits compilation but in a very genuine, heartwarming way, not a cash grabbing way. It referenced and included almost every spin-off and mainline game in the franchise and basically paid tribute to them all, it felt like the culmination of my journey as a Sonic fan at the time, like all those shows and films I'd watched, all the comics I'd read and all the games I'd played led me to Generations. I don't think it's an objective 10/10 game in retrospect but to me? Yeah, it will always be the game that looked at me in the eyes and told me "All those Sonic games you played, it was all worth it, here's why", and that feeling is irreplaceable. PS: If we also wanted to count Sonic BOOM: Rise of Lyric, since while not canon to the main timeline it's still a major Sonic release just on a different timeline, I'd probably place it in-between Forces and Adventure. Shadow, Metal Sonic and Robotnik are painfully out of place and badly utilized and those Subway Surfers looking running sections have bad frame rate. Everything else? I think it's pretty good, a very fun game overall, the cutscenes especially were delightfully directed and animated. RoL Knuckles wasn't a complete dummy as well which I liked, something the show unfortunately changed.

I view it as basically a Rougelike with different potential endings for the character if different certain steps are taken, each leading to him becoming a good or bad person, but the True Ending is just the return to who he actually is based on the foundations set in previous games. I still don't think its the best game in the series, I think the gun controls could have done well to take some inspiration from the Adventure titles or possibly been enhanced to be more similar to actual shooters and yeah the games a bit glitchy sometimes, especially on the GameCube release. I couldn't ever say it's a 10/10 game and tbh if someone says it's bab or trash, I really have no argument against that. It just so happens to be trash I find myself enjoying more often than not and rated 8.5/10 based purely on that. Super Shadow being able to actually use Chaos Spear and the subsequent Shadow Rifle may be where about half of that score came from though- I also believe this is the game that introduced the idea of losing a set number of rings instead of all of them which is highly appreciated, albeit I wish we could get that feature in a game where Rings are actually used as currency like in Adventure 2.

I'm so glad to find another person that loves Heroes, a lot of people dislike it but the game isn't bad at all. It's my favorite sonic game honestly.

Sonic 1 was also one of the first games I ever really played (around 2003-2004). So I do have a lot of nostalgia for the game. It may not be my favorite (that would be Sonic 3 and Knuckles) but it still rocks.

My Opinion: 16. Shadow The Hedgehog(6/10) This game is mediocre and I do not care about the story, it’s very boring 15. Sonic Forces(6/10) It’s slightly better than the last one because few stages I think it’s great? 14. Sonic 06(6/10) It seems the worst but it shows have a magical story that I think it’s creative 13. Sonic1(6/10) There’s 3 Bad Zones and 3 Good Zones, Bad Zones as Marble, Labyrinth and Final Zone 12. Sonic Lost World(8/10) Just one issue, those villains is the worst in fiction history 11. Sonic Heroes(8/10) Those control are not impressive and stages keep repeat but still a wonderful game 10. Sonic Adventure(8/10) It feels freedom and fun, just the Big Story is boring 9. Sonic CD(8/10) Those Bosses are a joke but those stage is not that bad actually, at least better than Sonic 1 8. Sonic Unleashed(8/10) It’s just the Werehog stages but it’s not a big issue. 7. Here's my own ranking. Note i will be including Spin-offs as well and I haven't play all of the main sonic games including some spin-offs i don't mind trying out. 10)Battles: I play this on an emulator but not too much. Which is why it is low here. 9)Secret Rings: The story is okay, but the gameplay, oh my gosh was it annoying. The game's not bad but I personally think Black Knight gameplay is good. 8)Rivals: This was my childhood Sonic Game even if Sonic Heroes was my first. Now I personally don't care for it and I don't see myself getting Rivals 2. 7)Forces: i like the game play but it's the story that annoys me. Mainly because of how wasted infinite was. And sometimes I don't have fun with it especially with the 2D sonic levels. The music is good, ii like making your own avatar but even then it's not enough for me to say it's good. 6)Black Knight: II love the gameplay there just swinging a sword around and I found it a huge improvement to Secret Ring. Sure Ii don't like the villain too much since we don't see them too much but i wouldn't say they are the worst. 5)Riders and Riders Zero Gravity: I used to prefer zero gravity over Riders, but when i look back on it, they both have something i like. Riders have good stage design, Zero Gravity have fun gameplay. Overall i like them but 4)Mania: I like mania and I wanted it to be my favorite, but looking back i don't think it's deserve to be that high when i lasted played it. 3)Rush: It was so fun and when i finally beat it two years ago i was so happy. Blaze is a great character and I have fun with the gameplay of both Sonic and Blaze... I don't like the final special stage for the last emerald though. 2)Heroes: This is one of my favorite sonic games as it was my first and looking back it was fun to watch and I hope ii can play it and finally beat it after years. 1)Frontiers: Do i need to say why it is awesome... Well, yes. Great boss fights, great music, great characters interaction, having two of my favorite ending songs, those being Dear Father and One way dream, I love everything about it. Is it my favorite Sonic game of all time... IDK I still love it and it's the reason why it's number 1 but like I said i have yet to play some and beat all fo the sonic games, but overall, Frontiers is amazing. So yeah that's my own ranking I'm happy to shared

I'm glad Sonic 06's stranglehold on the series lack of stories is over! SEGA is awesome for listening to its fans, but unfortunately the people who were critiquing them back then weren't doing it out of love--it was a trend to hate on Sonic and that's what thousands did. They misunderstood what Sonic's about, claiming the fact there was a serious story was an inherit issue instead of the writing being bad. Sonic's _existence_ was thanks to wanting to break the mold, stand out, be _ambitious!_ When Sonic Team was understandably too afraid of getting mocked like that and submitting to blander and blander ideas, the spirit of Sonic withered and this poison ran through this franchise's veins for years, but now, finally, we're moving on to a new frontier. Sonic Frontiers is my favorite for what it represents, but I get all of your opinions and thank you for making all these entertaining videos!

Imagine if they made a sonic frontiers one and two. Where in one they lose and sonic “dies” and eggman wins and begins construction. And no2 is the the aftermath of one where eggman land is setup and the story pushes on.

i admittedly have not played anything past shadow, aside from mania. sonic 3 & knuckles is still one of my favorite games of all time. this is coming from someone who doesn't play a lot of platformers. sonic heroes is kino too. love that game.

Shadow the Hedgehog is the most 2000s video game I’ve ever seen in its attempt to be edgy. The soundtrack is mostly grungy metal, the aesthetic is extremely emo and 2000s, it is the most 2000s game that isn’t The World Ends With You, and I love that.

I hope Sonic Heroes gets a remaster/remake one day..

This was a great video to watch. Here’s a ranking of my top 5 3D Sonic Games. I’m not including 2D since I’ve always preferred 3D Sonic over 2D. 1. Sonic Unleashed 2. Sonic Generations 3. Sonic Frontiers 4. Sonic Colors (My first ever Sonic game) 5. Sonic Adventure 2 Honorable Mention: Sonic 06 mainly for Shadow and Silver’s stories/characterization and Mephiles the Dark being my favorite Sonic villain of all time. Also I completely agree with what you said about Forces. That game made me think that the Sonic franchise wasn’t for me anymore and almost made me want to leave the series. I can’t forgive Forces for that since this series is one of my all time favorites. Thankfully, Frontiers restored my love for the series.

Finally some respect on Sonic Unleashed

Sonic is an interesting franchise for me. My favorite games (Colours, Frontiers and SA2) I can DEFINITELY say aren't the absolute best. They're great imo, but not the best. There's just something about them that leads them to stand out in my mind, and I see a lot of people having a similar experience with their favorites

I would've switched some games here/ranked then differently, but what I love about your videos how much I agree on them and often has the same opinion :) I didn't liked CD because of Level design and yes I love Unleashed. I know some who would disagree with me and I don't mind, but it's always nice to see someone with the same opinion as well. My ranking would probably have been (from worst to best): Forces CD Lost Worlds Colours 1 Shadow the Hedgehog Generations Heroes 2 3 Mania Adventure 1 Adventure2 Unleashed Frontiers Sadly I didn't had the chance to play the original 06 (only played the P06 Fan Project a bit), so I can't rank it fairly.

It may be a gamble in the eyes of SEGA, but if they were smart, and maybe a little bold, they’d hire an indie dev, or a portion of Sonic Team, to make a Blaze and Silver spin-off game. Maybe make it 2D, and have Eggman Nega be the big threat? While you play as Silver and Blaze, exploring the future and the Sol dimension? Maybe a story involving Sonic is unlocked later. Personally, I think Silver and Blaze deserve some spotlight too. They’re still so full of storytelling potential. Maybe they learn how to be a more cohesive team? Trying to be like Sonic and Tails, but realize they aren’t. Maybe they learn more, and how to adapt, to each other’s worlds? Eggman Nega is from the future, so he could find a way to travel between Silver’s future and Blaze’s dimension. We know there’s still a number of fans that want more from the spectacular duo. It could be 2D, with the style of Sonic Rush, and the gameplay of advance 1-3.

I have very fond memories with the Sonic Heroes multiplayer. Me and my two sisters would spend hours on it growing up. We never beat the game though since my mom pretty much banned single player games to preemptively mitigate any arguments. Story mode rarely if ever got played.

If nothing else, Sonic '06 gave us the fantastic LP by Pokecapn. That series was a doctoral thesis on the psychology of mental breakdown.
