I agree with your video but i will say, a lot of people dislike the writing from the 2010s sonic games but people don't acknowledge that at the time, the majority of the discourse of sonic at the time was that his serious story telling sucked and they he should be light hearted again like he was in the classic era. it was initially received as a breath of fresh air when colors came out and jokey sonic was created. It was only later on in the years that people started to want serious sonic back. Frontiers is top tier for that but just wanted to point out the circumstances behind it. It wasn't entirely to shift to a younger audience. That was more a byproduct of colors success.

Fun fact, Mephiles is named after a literal demon which only adds to the eerieness. They should have made Elise an adopted hedgehog though, would have fixed A LOT of the wierdness surrounding that relationship.

Shadow is not allowed to use the word "friends" when he talks about himself or things that concern himself. That's all 😭 probably some weird Sega we're still working through. Outside of that, while Shadow does care about those around him, they rarely let him show it because they probably feel that it'll diminish his image.

Metal Sonic is kind of a twisted version of Pinochio. He wants to be the real Sonic and please his creator. There is a slight difference in Gerald and Shadow's relationship. Before the raid by GUN Gerald cared for Shadow and saw him as a member of his family. Eggman doesn't have the same attachment to Metal and sees him as replaceable. In my head what lead to Metal turning against his creator was Eggman's interest in Shadow. Eggman rescued Shadow and made android copies. Maybe Metal believed Eggman was replacing him with these android copies and wanted to prove himself superior.

Next thing you know Metal Sonic be like: "look at my ass, it says 'made in Chun-nan'!"

Mephiles was the highlight of my original Sonic 06 playthrough. I'm a sucker for edgy characters. I only wish Sega would quit it with the mobile games and start adding these characters to console/PC games. I would 100% pay for DLC if it was a pack with Mephiles, Infinite, and Metal in it.

I would love a game that features the old metal characters. I'd love to see the metals like, Silver Sonic, Mecha Sonic, Metal Sonic, Metal Knuckles, and yes the Tails Doll. Imagine they make a game where you play a double-sided campaign in which you can play as those 5. The story is a race to get some object or story MacGuffen against Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles (The other side of the story/playable characters.) Whoever you play as is the winner (and also the bad ending,) with the final ending allowing you to play with any combination of the two as you take down a final foe. When you reach the end? If it's a team of opposing sides, then there will be a final confrontation and the metals will always lose. A team of only metals? Their counterpart intervenes and wins the fight/race. I've always wanted a genuine playable Metal/Mecha sonic in a game. This is a for fun spitball idea.

When Eggman is out of character for Metal Sonic to copy Chaos during Sonic Adventure and all of Sonic Adventure 2 and this game, it is deadly serious. Even Eggman cannot stop his creation from bringing more destruction than he ever could.

Time is **Relative** She would persist forward, yet everyone else would be stuck in the past, in Cycle Of Solaris... The Cycle of Solaris eventually is broken, the events get retconned, **but here is a catch** It did happen, **Once** There are at least two options: >>>We could accept that it happened in the past, Blaze perishes within _one timeline and dimension_ , Solaris is defeated, and since events never happen, She lives. Ahem... read the IDW comics. There is an amazing story about metal at the start of the comic run. And there is an issue released on Sonic's anniversary that shows some conflict that Metal Sonic deals with. IDW is the reason why I love Metal Sonic so much

sorry for the monster comment, but the "shadow acts like he has no friends" angle actually frustrated me so much and would have been an interesting character choice if they had actually DONE something with it. it was so blatant that he felt no connection to "Sonic's" friends, that I honestly thought there was going to be this vulnerable moment where shadow reveals that he feels as though he only sees their friends in dire situations and assumes that they only want anything to do with him because he's the ultimate lifeform. then they could get back, THEIR friends could be excited to see BOTH of them, and Sonic could have his little "I told you so moment" and shadow could get some character development. believe that there's something about himself to be valued by friends other than his power. JUST A THOUGHT!!! but of course, they opted to throw him in a hole instead.

I am not really a fan of this franchise, (mostly cause of the fan art and ships and all of those weird sh!t...) but im glad that they at least tried to revive this character in sonic 2. Something i keep complaining about is that Rouge created the team. She is supposed to be the leader. But everyone is following shadow. This makes me know that omega and rouge are only here to build shadow’s character.

Shadow in sonic prime didn't feel like shadow. It felt like a phony, it wasnt shadow it was dark sillouette of object or creature under the sun

My problem with Prime Shadow was the screen time Shadow got sidelined so hard especially in season 3
