My friend actually died to Midras “first phase” like pre cutscene when he’s impaled and normal. He has some gnarly grab attacks that are super fast apparently. Never knew that cause I always beat the piss out of him real fast

Phase 1 Radahn is goated, but the rest of the fight is such a switch up and I used a great shield and poked him to death xD. Personally Messmer was my favourite fight of the dlc

So far this is by far my favorite review. It’s not the same as where I would place some of the bosses but it’s so positive, it highlights what he loves about the bosses instead of just what he’s bitter about. It’s like when you would talk to your friends about a video game back in elementary school, super descriptive about everything he loves about the bosses. Awesome video man, earned a subscription and a like! ❤

I spent 10 hours in radahn because I refused to switch of off the great katana glass cannon build. I was no hitting his first phase every try near the end

Radahn’s fight is Gwyn on crack. You can parry almost all of his attacks but god help you if you miss the timing.

I feel like, since the metyr boss happens underground, the weird floating tubes hanging above during the boss fight are the fingers that you see in the finger ruins above, the area you travel across completing the quest to access the boss

The fact that 7 out of the 10 remembrance bosses have no cutscene or any dialogue is incredibly disappointing

My opinion/theory: radahn didn’t want to be Miquellas consort which who knows why not but an obvious guess is because Miquella is his half brother and a boy, but since radahn rejected Miquella, Miquella had malenia try to kill him but it didn’t work, all while Miquella purposely inflicted mohg into his bidding. When the tarnished came and killed radahn to free his soul, and mohg as a vessel, Miquella had everything he needed to force radahn to be his consort

I am a Radahn Fitzgerald fan too. The gravity circle can be dodged by immediately sprinting backward and jumping, even if you get pulled initially. The holograms can be outran afterward but the last attack is hit or miss for me.

I think Midra deserves higher, my only gripe with him was that he is at times too passive and can be stunned out of the phase two transition which can trivialize the fight. Other than that he is so sick. Lord of frenzied flame vs lord of frenzied flame.

37:20 Miquella saw the kind part of Radahn (the whole animal loving thing mostly), and figured he would be good, but failed to see how the one thing Redmanes truly desire is just war. Miquella does just want to lead the world into an age of control, as at one of his crosses it says he can't love people (so everyone loves him but he loves no one), so maybe he just wanted someone strong who he could pass off as being kind, although that's what I just think. My ranking of the remembrance bosses (I haven't fought Bayle yet) 10- Putrescent knight 9- Metyr 8- Quelaag 3.0 7- Hog rider 6- Rellana 5- Scadutree avatar my beloved 4- Divine beast dancing lion (translations go crazy) 3- Midra (who is, despite the name, not actually mid) 2- Messmer 1- Rad ant

Beat radahn the other day. Fairly conflicted with how I feel about him. For me he's like a 90% great boss but the 10% I don't like I really don't like. Fuck that roll catch move in particular. Found out you can avoid it by positioning to the right or rolling 10 frames early but that's not super reliable for most people. But yeah lots of fun moves just a few really annoying ones. I also like being able to see the boss which was definitely a problem in this p2 IMO. Turned effects down to low to help me see him better lol. Regardless of my complaints (I'm sure I'll get more used to him over time) still a great DLC. Messmer, Midra, and Bayle were probably my favorites.

Oh I just realized that the dragons in the DLC were preparing you for Bayle, VILE BAYLE!!! The introduction of Swipe attacks with "wings" and bites, the AOE slams and abilities. You were being warned and prepared for the Dread that lies ahead.

Finally, I think Radahn was chosen note because he was like Miq but because he was a compatible opposite, like a yin and yang. The plan is for them to compliment each other and fill in what the other lacks.

Wanna dodge Gaius charge attack consistently? Dodge to your right and into him a bit. Literally works everytime, timing is still tricky but that’s the only learning curve. Otherwise the boss is still mid

I'm still working on radahn, and holy fuck I am somewhere around 7 hours in on attempts and have barely gotten into second phase. A genuine suggestion I've gotten was to play through all of the other games and then come back, since elden ring is my first soulslike

Btw please take off the scarseal or soreseal. At late game it’s doing more harm than good, and you’ll see a big difference in your survivability. Just run an Erdtree favor, a crimson amber medallion, any drake talisman, or another damage talisman.

I don't see enough people talking about the Scadutree avatar's phase 3. All his movements become slower and kind of clumsy. A dying creatures final attempts. Maybe it's just me cause I love the boss design, but this one felt more sad than even Sif from ds1.

All the people who complain that you personally liked Radahn and that you aren't allowed to 💀 (to be clear, I do think From needs to nerf either his phase 2 aggressiveness or tone down some of the phase 2 particle effects. I just think it's funny to see people complain that someone liked a boss they didn't)

I still haven't beaten Radahn, but that's not to say he's too hard or a bad boss. I just suck at this fight lol. My build is also cooked and I might need to legit come back in ng+ because I stupidly used all my larval tears and have a weird ass hybrid build when I should really have a focused pierce build for this dude. I'd say that's the only thing about this fight I don't like, because I totally made it work on prior bosses and use summons: absolutely a skill issue and it stings NGL. Hopefully I'll nail him at some point, and I have another character who's already fairing a lot better in the DLC with a more focused build and better stat investment.

Remembrance Raaaaank: 1. Midra 10/10 Perfect reasonable difficulty, fantastic build-up, well telegraphed moves that are all dodgable (the big head slam you just run away from), incredible music, unique design. I have no criticism and I have so far heard nobody have any other than 'it's too easy' because they staggered the boss to death or they wished they could skip the 5 seconds of phase 1. 2. Bayle 10/10 Even when fighting him alone Bayle is punishing but fair. Yes, even the breath attack can be dodged by rolling to the right on the second strafe. Jagged Peak was made purely to build up this encounter and it was worthwhile. Best dragon boss they've ever made; it's Placidusax's spectacle in a more satisfying combat coating. 3. Rellana 10/10 If there's ever a great challenge in Elden Ring I would want them to be like Rellana. Massive combo's, special moves to figure out a response to, lightning-fast moves that demand you to dodge intuitively and some spectacle for good measure. And, if it's too hard? You can in fact leave and get strong enough to make the fight easier by gathering more Scadutree fragments (while Radahn disallows this because he is the ceiling of difficulty and forces many players into broken builds instead which I don't think is better). 4. Messmer 10/10 The very definition of 'wait until he's done with his combo'. Once you know that you know how to defeat him. The boss did everything i'd hoped and a little more, it was spectacle and tragedy and perfectly in line for Elden Ring's combat. 5. Scadutree Avatar 9/10 This design surprised me the most and the execution was flawless. The difficulty is just right, the spectacle and atmosphere of the area and its attacks hit and the music and lore implications add even more depth. The fight feels fair but unique, it has surprises and beautiful moments. The reason it's not a 10/10 is because it did not provide as satisfying of a challenge as those up top. 6. Romina 9/10 Though she is quite easy she is incredibly well designed and her telegraphs are perfect. In fact, her telegraphs are so good that she becomes easy despite having such a complicated three-part design. This boss is an accomplishment of the highest degree when it comes to animation and it shows how good we as players have become at the game when the game decides to play extremely fair. 7. Dancing Lion 9/10 Incredible boss that is not inuitive at first, but you can 'learn the dance' and in doing so adjust your camera movements to not struggle much with them. The initial confusion and chaos its moves cause however made the boss more of an acquired taste for me. 8. Putrescence Knight 8/10 Extremely solid boss with cool combo's and build-up. About as close to a duo boss as you can get without making them two seperate entities. I would have liked it even more had they leaned further into this pseudo-duo-boss idea in phase 2, rather than the ghostflame attacks. Have the knight perform various combo's where it gets off its horse. 9. Radahn & Miquella 8/10 A very epic and well-made fight at its core that is held back by a couple of problems. Radahn does a sweep-left into sweep-right into cross-strike that is even less dodgable than Gaius' charge, and Miquella's spell effects and fabulous hair prevent you from properly being able to read the telegraphs in phase 2. The bosses need less of that unavoidable difficulty to be more fun than they are now. 10. Metyr 7/10 It's tough to explain but I felt like something was missing with this boss. This should be a top tier boss but somehow most other bosses trumped it. My current theory is that the arena perhaps needed a significant change going into phase 2. Perhaps Metyr could transport us to its cosmic plane and have us fight amongst the stars for the second half. Though its moveset is alright I agree like you said, it needs a bit more cosmic inspiration here and there. Oh, and its belly hitbox can hurt you and I hate it. 11. Gaius 6/10 I didn't struggle with rolling the charge due to light roll, but i've heard too many people lose their minds over the hitbox and think it does need adjustment. Once that adjustment is made the boss could go past Metyr for me, but no higher than that. The boss quality is too high.

cool fact about metyr's black hole rotating laser: it's quite literal. it's a quasar, which is when a black hole spits 2 massive plasma jets in opposite directions. this is a result of the matter in a black hole's accretion disc forming powerful magnetic fields that overpower the black hole's gravity, sending off those jets with immense energy

Sorry to be "akchtually" guy but Metyrs simulacrum microcosm is not a simulacrum. Simulacrum means "a representation", or more negatively, "an inferior imitation". Thats why Ymirs staff and spells where were simulacra, he was trying (and failing) at copying Metyrs shit, which gives some more lore context.
