As a person that has worked at McDonald's, the reason that the Quarter Pounder and the other burgers of its meats taste different is: Unlike every other patties, the Quarter Pound meats are seperated and not frozen but cooled in the refrigerator where the other non-frozen, but cooled down items are (Lettuce, Tomato, etc.). So while your regular, thin meats are fully frozen, the Quater pounders are not, which also makes them in limited supply.

Ik this is late but two things, (I work at McDonald’s) 1 the quarter pounder is different meat and is the only thing we make to order, we hate everyone who orders it because it’s annoying to build and we have to get the special bread. 2 genuinely, quarters are ordered so much snd it’s never just the quarter people get like 50 nuggets and 5 spicy mcchickens with it.
