How? Name one amazing scene from Sanji. Pre-timeskip, you could have made an argument, but he's a garbage character throughout after the timeskip.

@@furorteutonicus9045 Lmao, WCI was an arc full of Ls for Sanji. 1st, he fought Luffy trying to get him away from him, which shows he really didn't trust or know Luffy enough. Bad character energy. Then, his backstory, as sad as it was, it doesn't justify him being the garbage person he is now. Then, he cried over getting his heart broken, too bad, it happens to everyone. Then he shamelessly crawled back to the crew, and no one questioned it. I won't even talk about strength feats, because he had none. I understand, WCI was an effort from Oda to repair the damage that he himself did to the character. But that was immediately nulled by his garbage habits in Wano. The fact that you think everything he does is forgiven because of WCI, says a lot about you.

I agree that sanjis character sucks and I hate him . But disregarding WCI because of that speaks a lot of about your character really. First of all, you say that because he fought Luffy he is a bad character cause he doesn't trust Luffy . But like yeah? He didn't trust that Luffy would be able to make it out safely without being harmed. (Which i mean Luffy is captured and nearly rips his arms off trying to escape) and so he wanted Luffy to leave WCI because of his kindness . In his mind he was a sacrifice , unable to be saved, if he tried to escape he would endanger his family and friends due to big mom and germas threats and he would explode due to his handcuffs(they were revealed to be fake but he didn't know that). It's not that sanji completey distrusted Luffy , after all he goes back to the site where he and Luffy fought because he trusted/ knew Luffy would keep his word and was waiting for him. He wanted Luffy and the straw hats to be safe and felt the only way he would be able to do was to get them to leave and take part in the marriage. He even says this when he talks to Luffy, where he mentions the reasons I've given and that he wanted to save his family. He fights with Luffy and gets him to leave out of his kindness to his crew. Next you say that his backstory doesn't matter because of his character which I mean I guess so? A backstory can still be impactful and have meaning even if the character has a bad character in the present. Sanjis backstory is still really well made and to say it's not is too disregard the story. Brook and Franky are characters similar to sanji in character in that they are also "perverts" . Does that mean their back stories suck too? Hell no, brook and Franky have some amazing backstories too , regardless of their character. Next you say that he cries because "he was heartbroken" Now this is where you really show that you just didn't pay attention to WCI at all because it's such a big understatement. He cries because yes he said but not out of being heartbroken but because what he thought was his last piece of hope and happiness in his life after leaving the straw hats and having to live with big mom turned out to be a massive bitch. Also he found out that him and his family and friends were all going to be killed the next day and that big mom lied to him . Now I don't know about you but I'm not sure that happens to everyone does it? Next you say that he has no strength feats. Which let me just say a characters "strength feats" doesn't matter that much if they have a good story . I mean Trafalgar law gets completely destroyed by flamingo in dressroasa and yet he is still a great character because he has interesting backstory and history with doflamingo. Anyways, again you probably didn't pay much attention to WCI because he does have strength feats? Yes he loses to the vinsmokes when he fights them but that's because he was being threatened by them and couldn't do anything to them because of it . Also he does some pretty good damage and fights well against some of the stronger members of the Charlotte family. Yeah he doesn't beat any YC but he directly challenges big mom , helps destroy the wedding , saves his family and escapes with the straw hats. He still accomplishes everything he wanted despite being up against a yonko . Not crazy feats but nothing to complain about either. Also you say he comes crawling back to the crew and they just accept him which again is an oversimplification. He meets up with Luffy and explains to him why he can't join the straw hats and why he has to take part in the wedding . Luffy and the straw hats understand why he left and know that he wants to be with the straw hats but can't because of again his kindness. This is different to usopp because there was no argument and sanji didn't have complete freedom over leaving the straw hats he was forced due to many reasons and the straw hats understand which is they accept him back in. All in all , I hate sanji . In fact, I don't even really like WCI as it's one of my least favourite arcs . But to say it is full of Ls and has no amazing scenes from sanji is just completely wrong. It does try to help fix sanjis characters and it is successful in making sanji a much better character. Now I haven't finished reading wano so I won't comment on that. WCI does not forgive all of sanjis issues but it does help make him much better. If you look past sanjis character he has great fights / story but oh well. Either way just cause sanjinsucks doesn't mean WCI sucks and you should probably learn to not just be blinded by hatred to sanji .

@@chocken2651 Look man, I like Sanji's character, in fact he was my favorite character pre time-skip. But he has been an insufferable character post time-skip, and I really cannot bring myself to like him even if he's the most fleshed out, or kindest character or whatever amazing qualities he has. WCI was the most well written and well paced arc post time-skip IMO, and I like it very much. I like the character growth Sanji had and all that. But all his perv gags while constantly failing to have an impressive showing, and instead being used as a hype tool for stronger characters negates it all for me. I won't expect you to understand, but his portrayal in the recent times has been a net negative for me.

Yeah, I’ve been getting slightly annoyed with people thinking it can only be everything was designed and planned from the start and it was hinted in the smallest of details despite Oda just beginning as a mangaka. Sometimes writers just see things in their past works and use it as an opportunity to expand their story, it doesn’t mean they make it up on the spot nor downplays you for seeing things earlier that are paying off or given depth now

yeah like haki is clearly a meshing of multiple things introduced beforehand including with skypeia, with the "well they just call it differently there" retcon being so obvious since he clearly just wanted it to have a better name that gets to the punch better

@@xxgothicprincessxx That is just an assumption on your part. You can make the argument that it was intentional as well since Blackbeard mentioned "Haki" even before Skypiea.

Shanks using Haki on the sea king could not have been planned that early on, but in retrospect, it’s a perfect explanation.

Also when Big Mom gets on the sunny and he faces her off trying to defend whit pure armament haki, fails, but has an INSANE comeback first throwing a whole waterfall at her and then punching her so hard she goes flying out of the ship almost on the ocean

Probably one of the best arcs in terms of straw hat development up there with like Water 7, Thriller Bark, and Arlong Park. Plus it has a killer aesthetic.

Also, Bellamy was in two arcs and was a banger in both of them and was only mentioned a total of 0 times. Wowzers.

Honestly I really want to see Enel come back. He's one of the only characters we've seen capable of destroying whole islands by himself, and I'm pretty sure he has the best observation Haki in the series no question, with or without training. I feel like Oda giving him his little robot army on the moon in his cover story is just his way of keeping him around but writing him out of the story for now, because there's no way at the moment for him to naturally insert Enel into the story. Like wtf he going to do lmao

He’s simply a literal human, amongst a crew of monsters. Not only that, he has the biggest daddy issues when his dad left him with his dying mum, giving him Pinocchio Jesus syndrome. It just makes it way more awesome when Ussop stands up for himself or his crew even when he’s a bloody pulp. Now, Nami is also a mere human, but since wano, she’s pretty good with her indentured servant. 💀

All the Syrup Village disrespect, it's easily better than all of East Blue because all the others suffer from fights bloat (eg. Baratie'd be peak but did we REALLY need a fight with Pearl on top of already fighting Krieg? that 2nd part bloat drags it down)

I wasn't around when the Paramount War was being published, I started when the anime was at Dressrosa, but I've gotta admit you're slacking on Marineford. It's still incredible, even though it's been literal years since it was publsihed. I do agree with everything else though. Water 7/ Ennies Lobby are one and are my favourite arcs in the entire series. Sanji is my favourite and I love Wholecake over Dressrosa which I also liked very much

genuinely i recommend using the fan made One Pace the pacing is really bad at a lot of points in hte unedited anime (me, who did exactly that for 6 whole months)

It doesn't get any worse than those laughs at least. I know lots of people hate a certain upcoming laugh but frankly the KIIIISHISHISHISHISHI drives me insane. Without fail. It could legally be considered a method of torture.

CHOPPER NEXT ARC WILD CHEERING

The highs in thriller bark are so god damn high but the lows..... I'd have put it in C without hesitation. Why? FOOOSFOSFOSFOSFOSFOS HORAHORAHORAHORAHORA KIIIISHISHISHISHISHI Oh and the whole thing with Absalom. (I'm down bad like god damn Lolapig I'm with you girl but he is abhorrent)

The biggest issue with Thriller Bark for me is just how long it takes for things to pick up

The manga has snappy and great pacing for the most part imo and Oda’s artwork always feels so intricate and unique with his posing. Hope you have fun!
