What criticism do you have with the romance part? I’m genuinely curious. For me, it was a nice breath of fresh air for the series to avoid most of the stereotypical romance drama that a ton of romcoms fall into and to see a mostly mature relationship. Though I agree that the humor is perfect.

True. The Spirit Turtle part of season 2 is kinda bad. Also it is too rushed imo. But after that, is good. The fight between Fitoria and the Turtle is more badass in the manga.

@@rafaelperalta1676 I still like it, but the real selling point of Shield Hero was Naofumi facing an uphill battle, the whole world unjustly shitting on him, and then embracing that image and playing dirty to achieve his goals. Now that most of that has been resolved, it's lost its edge, though the second half of this season sort of puts him back into an underdog position. If S1 was a 10, S2 is a 6-7 so far.

The biggest problem for me was Rishia. She was absolutely useless, whining all the time, being pure deadweight to the party, with her character being "*Gasp* oh no i cant do anything Im so sorry *cry*". The production did very poor job on her, they should have skipped her whiny part and just hint that she cant do much now but has potential. Instead I couldnt watch single episode without being interrupted like 6 times by Rishias whining. Fortunanely it gets better. In ep 6 Rishia had epic moment so that was good. Personally I wasnt hyped by that cuz she was so bad for the first half but it put her back to being neutral character. She is ok from that point on @@rafaelperalta1676 I would say from ep 7 its worth getting back to. S2 could be so much better if they left out first half, the second one is good old Rising of the Shield Hero. It isnt awesome as S1 but thats because S1 was fucking legendary, it is "only" very good. Also if you want you can start from ep 6 so you have some insight on whats happenning. If not im gonna mildly spoilt it here, so *Spoler alert*: Shield heros party defeat bad guy, he escapes to his home world, Naofumis party invades said world to find him and have some sweet revenge

I keep seeing Tomodachi Game compared to Squid Game, but other than the name, it's literally got nothing in common. I think this just makes people have completely different expectations of it, which makes them think it isnt as good as it is. It's A or S tier.

I mean a lot of people are rating it pretty low... and I get it honestly... but it improves a lot by time... I binged whole manga and story gets much more deeper and interesting, definitely A tier for me at least.

so far it's maintained the momentum impressively well, but it's two cour, and it's hard to know how much more mileage it'll be able to get out of the concept. like, I can kind of see the structure, and how basically every loop will be a shorter amount of time, but have more ground to cover. but keeping momentum over 20+ episodes with something like this has to be a challenge.

These imply that the manga has merely entered a new phase. Perhaps it could go all the way to ch 300.

I heard that author pairs him with his ex-sister in the LN, though, which is garbage move to be honest. Battle skips in manga are quite annoying too. Otherwise, it's good, but I hoped for the protagonist to be more of a chad and don't go clueles idiot route. The moment he whined for a while how he is no pair for future saint and high ranking aristocracy chick almost made me quick. Like what the fuck, woman have literal lovers and nobody cares, my dude. Why don't yo uat least become lover of theirs which they would totally accept. Him proposing to the milf queen saved the show for me (alsthoug it was still annoying and inconsequencial with his previous doubts about two girls who are clearly in love with him).

Back to back seasons of rom-coms absolutely killing it. My Dress Up Darling last season. Love is War and kinda Spy x Family (not sure if it technically counts as a rom-com) this season.

I also recommend watching the dub because, while it does have a different tone compared to the sub, it is made with the same amount of passion as the original. All the VAs (apart from maybe Kei) absolutely kill it and the writing team absolutely killed it in adapting the series rather than aiming for a word to word translation.

Kongming is one of my favorite wholesome anime to come out in awhile. It's got great music storytelling ,historically factual (as far as I can tell I haven't fact checked the history they bring up but I'm pretty sure it's all based on IRL) and the singing is amazing. Literally got goosebumps some scenes

Tomodachi games art style didnt bother me at all. Because there is no action etc. i think art style isnt an issue at all. For the pacing as someone that didnt read the manga. Pacing was good for me. If you compare to manga i sure lots of thinks will be different but if you look at it just as anime pacing doesnt bother too.

Believe me, you're about to see some deep shit in s4. Overall, no, the manga didn't get worse, it got even better from that point on.

I'd say Spy x Family would be the better choice when trying to convince anime haters that anime can be amazing, since it doesn't take place in a high school, so that admittedly overused setting isn't a problem here at all.

Feel the same way, for me it's def an S rank, honestly this and SxF are the only shows I watch as soon as they come out this season. I try not to overhype Executioner, because I suspect most of my enjoyment comes from my love of isekai and this one just being a great example of that premise. But honestly it's a very solid show and I feel bad that not enough people are watching or talking about it.

So he say the reason its difficult for Menou to kill Tokitou is because they start forming a friendship and maybe yuri, but doesnt say that Menou actually did “kill” her but her powers wont allow her to die…
