No mention of Robert Calvert who wrote some of their best songs and had a lot of input with the band throughout the 70's - was lucky to meet Bob a couple of times a true genius who we sadly lost too early.

I'm not a massive Hawkwind fan but I think their album: Quark, Strangeness and Charm is a complete masterpiece, easily one of the best recordings of the 70's and in my top 20 albums of all time.

For me it's Warrior on the edge of time a masterpiece.

Hawkwind is a supremely underrated band. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have had Motorhead, Punk, and many other things in general. They should be in the R&R hall of fame

My heart sank a bit when the great Bob Calvert didn't get a mention. He was the best thing about Hawkwind, for me.

Sea Of Tranquillity Hawkwind influenced Punk not the other way around. 14 year old John Lydon went to see Hawkwind with his mummy!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I agree about Hall Of The Mountain Grill being their best! I saw that show at the Hammond (Indiana) Civic Center. It was a last minute deal. A friend of mine couldn't go and gave the tickets to me. Great Seats ~ Great Show ~ Great Album..........Thanks Rodge!

The first band I ever saw live, 1973 Leeds Space Ritual tour. I was 17, had no idea how lucky I was. Then they released the whole gig on a double album and I've been listening ever since. I've not seen a better concert, nor heard a better album in the following 47 years!

My absolute all time favourite band. Have all their studio albums and lots of live. Seen them about 10 times.

I'm glad I never got rid of my vinyl collection as I'm now the proud owner of several Hawkwind albums from the 1970's with their amazing artwork and fold out sleeves.

The 'Quark' LP is their career highlight for me. Robert Calvert (RIP) was a genius, a gifted writer and brilliant performer and (in my brief experience of meeting him two or three times) an absolute gent.

Hawkwind are one of the few bands to truly be worthy of the epithet ‘alternative’. How many bands actively set out to make their audience feel ill?!
