Shield Parrying has been part of the Souls series since Demon Souls. Everything else mentioned is new though. 0:29 "You take these things away and it's just a Dark Souls 3 DLC." I mean I guess, but it is what people want. People want this game type, people know this company for this game type, they like this game type from this company, and each game has added more and more to the formula people like. 0:45 "I don't see the point of spending 60 dollars on a similar game to one I have already played." I know you are telling people to get new insults, but I don't really think it is fair to say that while playing CoD Zombies, kind of brought that one on yourself. The argument that the game is bad because it ain't got difficulty modes is baffling. The game doesn't hold your hand and for some reason these goons don't like that. Some people got stuck on tree sentinel and thats the games way of telling you to go past and come back later when your stronger, the game teaches you early on that it won't hold your hand and that the game is punishing. It teaches you that you need to adapt to the game and not mindlessly run at everything. I ain't no pro gamer and many others who made a series on KZfaq out of this game ain't either but they still found found way to beat it. This games easy mode is running a mage build or finding cheesy ways to yet passed obstacles. And the game is pretty rewarding too. The idea that the game is bad because it's too hard has zero logic to it

I'm clearly bored. Shield parry isn't new to the franchise. Taking away the things you listed is like saying "Take the guns out of Call of Duty and it's basically Skyrim". You can't just suggest that a game is like another game by gutting half it's mechanics and content, then expect to be taken seriously. I mean...technically you can...you did. But it's silly. This video is a perfect example of why FromSoft is so desperately needed. Because there are people who equate not being told what to do on screen at all times with nothing happening. Thank you for buying and supporting a game where you had no idea what you were getting into. The sales numbers help Myazaki keep saying NO to the people who want every game in the world to have quest logs and mini maps and NPCs telling you exactly what to do and how to feel. I can still respect having some of the opinions in this video, but in this case Triggered Senpai tried to say *"The world feels empty"* which is just objectively wrong in comparison to any other big outdoor open world game. Other games might have a more populated LOOKING map screen with colorful icons pointing to copy paste fluff content or showing the location of every "discoverable" item. But Elden Ring's open world is dense with handcrafted level design, boss encounters, time of day happenings, secrets and items that come with location lore, inter-connectivity, environments hinting and hiding with line of sight, and NPCs with their own agendas to engage or ignore. It's an exploration paradise where you can ride through the same areas over and over and keep finding new entrances, bosses, and items you missed previously. The density and quality of the open world in Elden Ring is obvious to everyone that spends more time investigating the world (souls players) than they spend wishing a map screen, quest log, or NPC will spell out what they are *"supposed to be doing"* at any given moment. Because, behind every FromSoft IP is a consistent *world and world history* that will continuously reveal itself ad infinitum the longer people explore and analyze it. It will take a full year or two before the depth and width of the Elden Ring 1 lore can be estimated. I suggest you wait a year for the community to do this, then take the time to go through the community lore content that comes out of that, and only then take another swing at the world of Elden Ring, and you may find that what used to feel empty is now full of context and history. That's the next best thing for someone who can't motivate themselves to read every item in context with their location and build that lore from incomplete information in real time.

Elden ring was my first souls game, i found the games very intimidating tbh and i really love the game. It really rewards exploration and taking your time to comb through the areas. The fact that it has no guidance system and lets you figure things out on your own it awesome because when you complete something or find some treasure there is this great sense of accomplishment because you really had tovgo out and work for it :)

I'm not sure what you expected especially since you said you didn't enjoy the BOTW experience and ER is a great mix of Souls&BOTW. Anyways, the reason why a lot of the enemies look the same is to show that Godrick's men occupy Limgrave. They don't outright tell you that, they want you to put the pieces together. Limgrave alone has 32 unique bosses and wait for it.... 37 unique mobs. Fextra Wiki for source. That is literally the first region, the game has roughly eight regions. Yes some bosses and mobs get recycled but usually when they are recycled they have added moves or different weapons. The game is not perfect, but the game is a wrapped up, finished package. Do I get frame drops? Yes. Is the AI easily broken? Yes. But did Miyazaki deliver another breathtaking world? Yes. I've stopped so many times just to peer at the horizon as while on horseback with dope ass gear. Also, I know gamers don't enjoy reading but it's literally like 2-3 lines of text describing what you should/could do in the open world. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO THE MAP COUGH COUGH MAP OBELISKS COUGH COUGH Two simple rules to follow: Explore and pay attention. P.S realizing that if you don't get the map opened up and you don't know how to use a map like "Hey, here's a landmark I should check out." or "That outline of that structure looks neat lets go check it out." Then I dunno, maybe too much hand holding throughout your gaming without you realizing it? ie. Waypoints in the form of compass/beacon/quest tracker or all three. To be fair, you do have a valid opinion in that the game can be boring but that's subjective.

A never ending grind fest just so you can take on 1 boss. I got to level 137 in this game and got unbelievably bored. I got it on sale, but promptly uninstalled it. This game delivers a story poorly, the open world is empty and it's all around dull.

The game does have a map that gives you directions with the grace points. Elden ring has a bunch of stuff that can be hard to miss and I do agree its empty sometimes but you have to explore more and do the thing you want to do. The game has a bunch of stuff to do with many paths to take and thousands of builds. Most games release with bugs, its called updating the game. There is some methods to use to fight, not just one, sure you roll A lot but it has multiple different things you have to dodge and multiple other things. This is my opinion souly, im not trying to say your wrong. The bloodborne statements are 100% true best souls game ever.

I scream obscenities for an hour, run around git gud, and come back, to scream in celebration. This game is amazing personally. I tried playing dark souls, I just can't finish them. I have 120 hours lvl 100, have only beat 3 main bosses and it still feels like there's atleast 300 hours more content. The game really transforms once you beat a few bosses, and you need to follow in the direction of those gold arc beacon from spawn points. I love that it doesn't hold your hand either, like discovering a new world, I don't think I can play another game with quest logs after this. Pure immersion..

I didnt like it at first, I thought pretty much what you though, so I stopped playing for a month. When I came back, I made a new character and hot damn! Running into an elevator that takes you waaaaaay underground, walking across giant chains, seeing a crumbling wasteland suspended in the air with giant tornados, the game is amazing. I'll never understand people who would rather be playing fortnite or call of duty who just hate elden ring because its too hard for them

The game is overrated garbage. The only people who actually like the game are people who are bad at video games and over levelled themselves. NPCs made all of the bosses stupidly easy due to their level and finally felt they were good at something in life. Mechanically the game is a reskin of DS3. The combat plays almost identically with the exception of having a jump mechanic now. It is still just spam r1 and roll till the enemies dead. They made rolling, backstabbing and parrying easier to appeal to noobs who are bad at the game too. The amount of reused bosses is a joke. When I fought my 4th godskin apostle, my 3rd falling star beast, 2nd godrick the grafted and like 60th gargoyle I started to get really sick of the game. It is lazy and just throws the same bosses at you over and over again. The open world is an absolute joke. Your reward for exploration is finding a small castle, reskin dungeon with a reskinned gank boss, or if you’re lucky an open world boss which usually ends up being a dragon reskin or gargoyle anyway. You are playing dark souls 3 except there is large open roads of nothing in between the mediocre areas. The game punishes you for exploring by giving you the same bosses over and over again and by over-levelling you to the point that the game is trivial. It took a significant and intentional effort to be over levelled in the older games whereas in Elden ring it’s difficult to NOT be over levelled. I truly pray that Elden Rings success doesn’t mean that the next fromsoft games are going to be open world too because that would mean the end of their streak of high quality. Most overrated game ever.

I bought Elden Ring because I got BORED of COD MW2 & I can only play so much Madden 23. So, I saw that it was on sale & decided to give Elden Ring a chance. Bad choice. I played it for a few hours & went back to playing Madden & COD MW2. I was literally forcing myself to play Elden Ring. I couldn't understand how so many people hyped that game up to ridiculous levels. TBH I think God of War Ragnarök is much better.

You have a solid fucking point, it's basically just dark Souls, You can play 20 minutes and realize you don't like the feel of the game, it's fun to see all these dorks in the comments. Get all worked up because someone called their game boring. Mind you I'm actually enjoying this game, But I'm aware it's boring and repetitive very often.

BOTW is not boring it is very addicting . I love the game i can wonder in it's world for hours and never get bored.

I'm 30 min in and don't get why people are playing this...

I love it. The adventure, so much to discover. The combat. The story. The art direction. The build options, weapons spells etc. The world building itself, nothing out of place nothing without some meaning. The quests are deep specially Ranni questline. Every NPC have their own agenda and their own purpose. If you like linear game this isn't for you. If you got no patience this isn't for you. If you got anger issues this isn't for you. If you hate to GIT GUD this isn't for you.

I tried playing Elden Ring for the first time today, but I couldn't even get past the beginning without getting bored and annoyed. The controls alone pissed me off.
