The raperist needs to focus on the fact it is a rapier not a sidesword. Point attacks, range, small movements. Cuts are almost always a secondary intent

Neither of them is trained in rapier, so yeah, they do use it like what they're more used to.

None, neither of them has studied rapier, they just wanted to try and see what happened

Clear to see the most deadly combination would be rapier and dagger

If nothing else, the reach advantage is significant and could aid even a less experienced fencer
