Fun fact...when the anthrax in envelopes issue happened, the band joked they were going to change their name to "Basket Full of Puppies"...😂

Bring the noize is a Public Enemy song first.They mention Anthrax in the song cause The band always Repped them.They became friends so they collaborated on a Remake. Love Both Versions 😁 P.S. You should React to the original

This was from 1985... Anthrax had signed w/ major label Island Records and released their 2nd album 'Spreading the disease'... their first LP w/ Joe Belladonna on vocals (He had replaced their original singer Neil Turbin who was fired in '84) 1985 was a pivotal year for thrash metal cos it was very new... that frantic sound was gaining ground as Metallica were touring for their 2nd album 'Ride the Lightning'... Slayer were touring for their '85 album 'Hell awaits'... and Megadeth were also touring for their first album 'Killing is my business...' (Other bands like Exodus ... Overkill ... Voivod ... Exciter .... Venom ... Anvil... were also in business) At that point, MTV and radio were heavily promoting 80's 'hair' bands like Motley Crue ... Ratt ... Dokken ... Twisted Sister ... etc.... and thrash metal was still an underground phenomenon but it was going to break in a big way in 1986 after Metallica released 'Master of Puppets'... Slayer released 'Reign in blood' ... and Megadeth released "Peace sells, but who's buyin'?"...Anthrax made it big w/ their 1987 album 'Among the living'. Anthrax was the first of the 'Big 4' of thrash metal to make a music video for 'Madhouse' and it got on MTV... So, this was the first thrash metal music video ever made... and it was low budget as it looks 🤪🤪🤪🤪Anthrax drew most of their lyrics from comic books, movies and novels... so, they were not as menacing as Slayer or Megadeth... They got more MTV exposure w/ the music videos for 'Caught in a mosh' ... 'Indians'... in 1987, before their rap single "I'm the man" went platinum soon after. Megadeth appeared on MTV in 1986 w/ 2 music videos - 'Wake up dead' ... and 'Peace sells'... Metallica refused to make a music video until 1988 and their first video 'One' debuted in early 1989.

Arguably Anthrax’s biggest hit but the video was constantly denied to be shown by MTV due to being “insensitive “. Also Anthrax was THE most fun concert I have ever attended

P.E. & Anthrax are both from NYC, Scot Ian was a big P.E. fan and Chuck D said he saw him repoing them by wearing their shirts when they okayed. So he says he went to go check them out one time the city. It was his first metal show.. They became friends from then on so eventually a colllab came about

This whole album is awesome... I saw Anthrax for the first time on the following "Among the Living" tour and got to meet them briefly as well... All nice guys and they thrashed! Prior to to being on Island Records, Anthrax were on Megaforce.

Anthrax is awesome🤘🏼 their version of Bring the Noise(which y'all have reacted to already) with Public Enemy is classic. They are huge self labeled nerds too🤌🏼🔥🤓 the breakdown into the chorus in this song is Legendary!!

Boy, you guys really missed it back in the 80s. Anthrax were excellent for about 10 years. Man, were they fun. And Joey Belladonna is one of the nicest people ever. BTW, it was great seeing you guys turn up in #WonderMommaOG's Blondie compilation. You crack me up, #6. Love you guys.

What a great way to spend my morning coffee break!!🤘 I worked in a madhouse for a short while. I had to quit because I was worried that I was becoming a patient. I love old, early Anthrax videos. When Scott Ian still had long hair.

I met Anthrax in 1991. They were a nice bunch of guys. I had my little girl (1yr) with me. They all wanted to hold her ❤ Love "Indians" & "I'm the Man"

In chronological order the big four's first album release is Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth. Anthrax hosted Metallica, meaning they were slightly more established in the beginning, when they came to New York to make their first album. It kind of took them three albums though to get established. Even though their first two albums are incredible too.

When i saw Antheax live they tore down the house. Pits were crazy. Knocked over tables broken barricades broken pool tables. And to think Great White would burn down that venue a couple years later. Rip The Station in West Warwick RI

I think Biohazard is a great band name too! And speaking of Institutionalized, y’all should do the Suicidal Tendencies song sometime. Yeah definitely some exaggeration going on with the video lol… but maybe not as much as you’d think. I’ve worked in psychiatric institutions for many years and have some colorful stories. The guy carrying around the baby doll is not that far fetched. There was a patient at a place I used to work, this old lady who carried around a troll doll and insisted it was her child. She would bathe it and had a whole box of clothes for it. She was a character 😊 Idk that I want to switch places with any of my friends lol. Maybe my friend Emmy cuz she has a fun side gig as a photographer at rock shows (she takes pics at a lot of John 5 shows when he’s in the area) 🤘🏽

A tiny observation just because im a nerd, Anthrax is not a chemical, its a bacteria called Bacillus Anthracis that can be forced to make spores and those were put in the envelopes in the 90s This band is hella fun, maybe consider to react to Got the Time, a cover they made

I actually know what it’s like to be in a straight jacket in the asylum when I was in 3rd grade after my first suicide attempt, at the hospital I bit and was spitting at the orderlies so I was put in a straight jacket, ball gag and a padded room when first arrived
