Chris's basslines are never a peace of cake ! This one is a good exemple of his ablities: it's fast and tasty, never stops, not just a sustain of the chords but a whole layer of the song that makes Muse's songs that thick. A true endurance practice peace.

Yep. Hysteria gets a lot of attention but that uses a lot of open notes so it's not that taxing in terms of stamina. I find this way harder to play.

@@tmb8807 agreed! I play bass and if anyone asks which is harder, Hysteria or New Born, I’d say New Born. Far tiring than Hysteria without open notes.

Muse headlined Glastonbury in 2004, they blew everyone out of the water and set a new precedent for bands to try and match in the future. This performance is considered by many to be the greatest headlining act of Glastonbury.

The funny thing is in the lead up to Glasto many people were confused why such a relatively unknown band were headlining and didn't think they would be that great as a headliner. They absolutely blew it out the park and I saw nothing but rave reviews. This was the point in the career they showed the world what they could do.

I play in a Muse tribute band and this song out of all of them is the hardest to keep up with. All my joints in my left hand ache after. Hysteria is doable, Uprising can get a bit achey but this song is by far the biggest endurance test of them all.

Absolutely love Muse. Matt Bellamy is a very underrated guitarist! Only time I saw Muse was in a 2,000 capacity venue. It would be great to catch them at a bigger show. Great reaction guys.

Amazing band...I was lucky enough to see them about 20 years ago and they're still going strong. Probably my favourite song is from the same album as this one, called Hyper music. Another great reaction guys!

The singer/lead guitarist Matthew Bellamy also plays all the piano parts on most, if not all, of their records and just hired a touring keyboardist so he can be the front man on stage. Dude is very talented.

Muse. Greatest band on the planet. We were there at Glastonbury to see them in 2004 and my husband named his boat after them. Matt Bellamy is a genius. They're work has been bringing joy to my life since 1999 and they reignited my love for live music. 🤩

Just after watching them play this set in 2004, Dominic Howard's (the drummer) 62 year old father collapsed and died of a heart attack near the main pyramid at Glastonbury. So very bitter sweet.

Muse and Radiohead fans like to war with each other, but it’s so much more fun to just appreciate both. Radiohead’s my favorite band, but Muse is not too far in second. And I don’t agree that Muse is a copy at all. I get some things from Muse that I love that Radiohead doesn’t give me and vice versa. They’re both very talented bands. I definitely recommend checking out more of their live performances in the future. Muse kills it live! I recommend Citizen Erased.

Thanks for doing more Muse, haven't heard this in ages...their live versions of this song varies, mostly in guitar work, but the best version ever imo, was on a BBC Radio broadcast from around 2003. Incredible band and song! Please do Plug in Baby, and would be great if yal could do my Patreon request Cradle of Filth - Us, dark, Invincible... another great English band, and ya wont be dissapointed with that track.😄

You should definitely react to space dementia by muse! It is the best heavy piano song by muse, and matt bellamy of course sings and plays throughout the song.

I think the first Muse song you should listen to the studio version of should be Map of the Problematique. I consider it one of the greatest songs of all time but I believe it's better studio than live for this one. Muse is love 💘 💕 💗

I love how you guys say "the" muse. And actually, at the beggining of one of their tours before they came on stage, there was a piece of music where the lyrics were "we.. are... the muse... we... are... the muse" so don't let people hate on you :)

@@BooToadstool Definitely harder than Hysteria (at least the main riff - the chorus actually has a similar kind of pattern to New Born). Has almost no open notes so your fretting hand gets a proper workout. Futurism is probably somewhere in between. I actually think the hardest song of all is Glorious - some incredibly fast octaves in the chorus there, and taking over the main guitar riff high up on the neck after the first chorus is extremely hard. White cloak Glastonbury 2004. Remembered sadly as Doms Dad, the drummer, died straight after the gig, bless him. Watch the gig though fully, one of the best they've done.

A note the the rappers Matt Bellamy has been elected guitar hero several times, they also have been rewarded for best live performance for rock, Matt also has for his voice 4 octave You should try to watch the drones tour in 2015 you will find youtube a mix from Berlin Paris and Rome one of the most amazing live show with the 10 spheres flying over the fans and even an black ufo flying above us, amazing show also for music and Matt voice

Little late, but they almost always play in stadiums now and they always sell out of tickets. In the biggest city they play multiple nights and they still sell out of tickets. They're amazing.

Also muse were voted as doing the best cover of a song of all time with their cover I've feeling good. Great song If you want to hear matts vocals go insane. You can watch one of the stadium versions but imo the best version on KZfaq if from their early days on the jools Holland show with jools himself on keys. On KZfaq it'd titled muse-feeling good (later archive 2001) you won't be disappointed by this performance and quite different from the metal sound.

Muse 2 Grammies. Q a magazine in the UK annual awards show had Muse as the best live act several years. Best act in the World 2009, 2012, and 2016. NME another British Magazine had them best live band in 2005,2008 and 2009.. Best British band 2007 2010 and 2011. As you would guess you have to see them live. Saw them at The Joe in Detroit, kept looking up at the ceiling expecting it to rain down on us it was very loud.

Guys, if you like their more metal songs do metal medley from the simulation theory movie next (yes muse has a movie 🤣although most of it is live footage) . It's all of their best metal riffs in one song with insane stage production you probably havnt seen from any other band.

I went and saw them on The Resistance album tour and was cool with them playing all the new album, but I nearly lost my shit when I heard the opening notes to this song. I embarrassed the person I went there with, but they were a buzzkill anyway.

One of the best live bands I’ve ever seen (I think 21 Pilots just topped them in Dublin 2019 for my all time favourite love show). However, Butterflies and Hurricanes, Knights of Cydonia, The Globalist… all songs that sound epic live. Give them a whirl.
