Serj is just such a good singer. The texture of his voice, his effortless switches between his growl and his clean tones, the way he uses it in the context of the instrumental as an instrument

His voice sounds so operatic because he actually does work with orchestras he's a huge fan of classical and opera. Soad hasn't released an album since 2005 but Serj has been working through his own solo career and a lot of his music is very classical he works with orchestras he's so talented what a king love him

Soad broke cause of serj and daron had different opinions about the band music daron used to say that his style was more like slayer and stuff and that serj wasnt into that and he was more like opera and classical he actually said that they didnt even have the same passion for the music they made

The Guitarist Daron wrote a poem about the Armenian Genocide that was titled "Victims of a Down". They drew inspiration from that to name the band System of a Down

Obiediance isn't a trait God respects when applied to the rules made by men for the benefit of the few who made them. With that said I believe you, but aren't we talkin bout the same thing, system's are devoloped by the few to benefit themselves not the many, they count on you to be to lazy to learn the obvious. I've had a few a definitely am full of shit, we all are, just to various amounts. They were originally called "Soil" and a lot of these band members have softer sides to them (nature, art, etc) but rebranded to "System Of A Down" to voice a lot of outrage they felt as they began suffering at the hands of new government policies.

Serj tankian is the hands down most amazing vocalist ever. There will never be another serj . There is not one single song that can compare to SOAD unless you bring tool into the mix , but hands down serj and Darren are the best harmonic duo to ever exist

Serj has some more operatic sounding stuff on his solo albums. Empty Walls is a good song by him. As far as SOAD songs. I'd suggest Peephole, Jet Pilot and Prison Song

My favs are Masochist, Doom, Little Bastards, Massacre the new American dream and Anxiety. An amazing punk rock album.

LOL I've never seen that footage of Serj messing around with a toy keyboard at the beginning of this video! That just made my day! Keep doing what you guys do so well! This is truly amazing and entertaining content for fans of all types of music! Just curious @ Trash Talkers, seeing as how you are both rappers, do you currently have any reactions to the rap genre and if so, who? Sometimes reaction channels teach me about new talent that I otherwise would have probably gone under my radar. I'm a big fan of early 80s to early 2000 rap, but with that being said, around a year ago I discovered Joyner Lucas from a wonderful channel called BigDaddyShaq and Joyner blew my mind and then opened it way up! I love Joyner now as much as I do Saul WIlliams. Both amazing underground artists that, in my humble opinion should be better known for their huge contributions to this genre and fantastic, experimental work!!!! Stay safe out there guys and keep being you!!! You guys are beautiful!!!

Would love to see you guys do more Mudvayne, or Hellyeah (2 of my favorite bands). If you like, try out some Seether they have alot songs to relate to on real emotional, social, and even psychological level. (Also one of my favorite bands if you couldn't tell, just stay away from their song "Broken" at least as a first time listen)

Hey Guys! Love your reactions! I watched reactions of many other KZfaqrs and I often have the feeling that the reactions are "played". Not so you guys. In your Videos everything looks really honest and I love that. Love the smile of Smokey when he really enjoys the music and Hollywood when he is surprised or amazed. I really like how open you are to other Genres of Music as Rappers. I can see you really enjoy music no matter which genre. It's always a pleasure to share your favourite music with someone who really enjoys it. Keeps me smiling. Is there any genre or song you don't like? Sorry for the very long comment but I wanted you to know that and give you a positive feedback :-) I also have suggestions for songs you really should check out : 1. Within Temptation feat. Xzibit - And we run (A great symbiosis of symphonic metal and rap) 2. Dragonforce - Through the Fire and Flames (probably the fastest Guitar you've ever heard) 3. Avatar - The King welcomes you to Avatar Country (really great song from a very underrated band)

Some amazing videos by soad are Boom! and Sugar those are my favorites. As for songs I love Prison Song, Boom!, A.D.D(American Dream Denial), Suggestions and Cigaro. They're an amazing band makes me v happy to see people find art in their music as well. Great video!! Put a smile on my face :)

The name system of a down comes from a poem guitarist Daron Malakian wrote called Victims of a Down. Victims was changed to System so that their records would be catalogued closer to Slayer, one of the bands that SOAD looked up to.

Just FYI, SOAD's hardest song, and one of the heaviest songs that I have ever heard in my life (and I like heavy) would be Ddevil, off their debut album (Track 6) if not the heaviest song in the world, that isn't unmusical, it's definetly the hardest song with a classic waltz timing!
