If this is used as a display unit anywhere in the world then I amazed one was not stolen. The theft deterrence here is comical. Here is the states it would have some type of alarm attached to it and not some toy machine rubber key chain attached to it.
@rachelcookie321
@rachelcookie321 Жыл бұрын
I don’t think there is much retail crime here, I’ve never heard of someone breaking into a shop to steal stuff but we don’t have stuff like this either. I’ve lived here 10 years and never seen a display unit of a console at any gaming shops. If you want a console you just got to buy it and hopefully you like it. If you go to an electronics store they always have tons of display units of computers and phones so if it was because of crime then I don’t think those shops would have all those out.

In order of this to end up on the second-hand market the original owner/seller probably got it from a close-out sale from a store that's shutting down, Worked for Nintendo, stole it(unlikely), or generously was gifted it at the end of a Nintendo event.

When Target Canada disintegrated a few years ago, I went to several different store closing sales expressly looking for store demos and display pieces. Everything was supposed to be returned to the manufacturer. Granted, some pieces were probably "lost" along the way, but nothing was officialy available for sale. ☹

I wonder if you added the chips and stuff onto the board, would it be possible to make a fully working switch? I would guess not, as they probably use faulty boards to make these display models so they don't have to pay for extra materials (since the boards would already be made and would otherwise be disposed of), but you never know, it might just work.
