Babymetal is a Japanese kawaii metal band consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal", Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal" and Momoko Okazaki as "Momometal". The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency.
Electric Callboy is a German electronicore band formed in Castrop-Rauxel in 2010. They take a more relaxed approach to the genre, and are known for their comedic songs, live shows and videos.

Electric Callboy are the most entertaining band in the world right now, not put out a bad song in last 3 years and live shows just a massive rave of metal & EDM riffs that fill audiences with a euphoria 😃🤘

Now we're talking.🦊🤘🐭 They're gonna RATATATA everyone with this killer track. On a second listen I noticed the "push it to the limit" line it could be an homage to Scarface's movie, another post disco, dance rock song with guitar elements. The song you were talking about is "Walk This Way", cool you notice about that probably reference but either way for me is clearly to symbolize breaking the barriers and the walls in terms of music genre and collabs. Fun fact: Electric Callboy (aka Eskimo Callboy) was created or formed the same year BM was born. MoaMetal is killing me everytime she send kisses.💕

This is acually a 50/50 COLAB between the two. EC has confirmed it during their reaction video to reaction videos video. One thing most people miss, is that Momometal's harsh vocals towards the end. You first hear Kevin's Scream and "ARE YOU READY" right after the drop, then if you listen closely during the second "ARE YOU READY" its a different voice, THAT is acually Momometal "showing her fangs"!!! Also twice during "Everybody" the camera focuses on Momometal during those two screams. I think that the reason people are missing it, is that she is not overpowered by Kevin, but rather matching Kevin's scream, and can't tell them apart.

EC are from the planet Disco and they break in to Amuse Talent Agency in search of their missing power source (The giant Disco Ball) first they try the board room demanding to know where it is, but to no avail, so they crash through the wall into BABYMETAL'S party in the corporate lounge where they quickly discover that they vibe with the girls, then they are off to find the ball again. The girls, now intrigued by the visitors quest, follow and are rewarded with the partycore vibes (Ratatata) they need to save the world (that's why the super-hero pose in that one shot during the chorus). Kitsune dao!

According to Nico from Electric Callboy it's a 50:50 collaboration. The credits say: Lyrics by Kevin Ratajczak, Nico Sallach, Pascal Schillo, Daniel Haniß & MK-METAL. Music by NORiMETAL, Kevin Ratajczak, Nico Sallach, Pascal Schillo, Daniel Haniß MK-METAL has lyric writing credits on many BM songs of all four albums. NORiMETAL has credits for lyrics and music on several songs from the first three albums.

You are absolutely getting the details correctly. BM was called an afternoon karaoke club at first. Their manager, Koba tried to sell the idea of teenage girls mixing J-pop and heavy metal to the corporate suits but they rejected it, they allowed no budget for this project. Koba also had to trick the girls to sing their first song to a falsified instrumental track that he later mixed with heavy metal. The difference was that the girls bought the idea very quickly, embraced the silliness, and never stopped since. Look where they are now.

It's the charme of Electric Callboy. They stand for love, fun and having a good time. They mixed Metal with diffrent styles. High energie and catching chorus.

I think the song is about being in the club. The guys are trying to get someone to dance with them but they're coming on too strong. The girls are initially put off but become intrigued. I got from the lyrics initially and the MV just reinforces that in my mind.

Great reaction. It wouldn't have been the Kami Band doing the instrumentals for the studio recording or the music video, they are exclusive for live shows (we only know of one Kami guitarist - Leda Cygnus - having any involvement with the studio recordings as he did the guitar arrangements for 'No Rain, No Rainbow' and recorded guitar and bass for a handful of the songs). Your views always impress me. Suzuka loves karaoke. During BABYMETAL's hiatus during COVID, “I was singing 8 to 10 hours a day because I didn't have to worry about my throat.” She said. She loves singing more than anyone else.

Their parents put her into ASH (Actors School of Hiroshima) because of her like to sing often and loud when she was a child. We, clearly, have to thank them for that! She was born for this!

Such a vibe, such a MV and so funny, love them looking through the hole in the wall and glad it's not just me who has been listening to and singing it all day🤣. Yes it was DMC smashing in to Aerosmith's set but I can't remember the song. Su has been using her Superpowers on me all day with her voice and the harmonies with Moa and Momo are perfect. Whenever you see BabyMetal they always look like they're having a great time. Particularly Moa who really seems to be living the life. Probably on your list but Bring Me The Horizon x BabyMetal Kingslayer live from late last year is another example of a great collaboration and again they all look to be having huge amounts of fun.

Nice deconstruction of the video - it mirrors the song where each chorus becomes more fleshed out as the two bands integrate with each other. I wouldn't be surprised if the song was a true collaboration but made to sound more like EC because it fitted the overall sound they went for, because Babymetal's music is often quite progressive.

Looking at the credits, the song is a true collab. Both studios, EC and BM, collabed on lyrics, music composition, MV composition...this was all a true co-op. I think the 2 styles work really well together

@@Syphr54 The song (or the vast majority of it) was written by EC. BM added their part and they obviously fine-tuned it together. It's also ECs band doing the instrumentals / electronic music and even the music video is done by EC. I guess it's the privilege of a bigger name, that the smaller partner does put a little bit more effort in. Nevertheless, it is a true collab and a pretty awesome result. Many thanks to both of them for creating this juwel for us. As a fan of both of them, I consider this something truely special.

Did you notice that during the breakdown the second "Are you ready?!" growl is Momo? (at 10:13 in your video) Kevin does the first one, and the second one in response is Momo. Then at the end of the song the "Everybody!" growl when Momoko appears on screen is also her (10:58 and 11:06). They are using Momo's ability to growl more and more in their new songs, which is an exciting development.

There has a been a deluge of reaction videos for this MV but I have been looking forward to seeing your reaction the most. Great break down of the MV. Hopefully they will release a behind the scenes video soon. Nico of Electric Callboy commented on another reactor's video that the collaboration was 50/50. My theory is that the video was released on BABYMETAL's KZfaq channel because BABYMETAL has the higher subscriber amount (2.9 mil vs 783K for Electric Callboy), thus increasing the chance that this would go viral. The song is close to 1mil views already, which means it will become their most viewed video since PA PA YA in 2019. I hope you have best time on Sunday. I love your interpretation of the music video! Many people see the jumping through the walls as a knocking down of genre walls both groups excel at. Also, that EC may be trying to get big labels and the "suits" to listen to their vision, and they're not really getting it, but they keep going until they find like-minded people, like Babymetal in this case. There's definitely that reference to Aerosmith/Run DMC there as well! But I loved your thoughts on it! Made a lot of sense! I'll go with your interpretation now :) There's definitely more to the mv than I first thought! I'd love to see you react to more Electric Callboy in the future, if you want to. I'll stick around :)

@@JohnnyReacts1 no, of course all of the interpretations are valid, I just enjoyed that you put a new (to me) perspective on the table! It makes sense to start with the Hypa Hypa mv, since that was the first one with Nico when he joined EC and then go from there, I'd say :)

Some context for the story can be had by the teaser trailer released on Electric Callboy's channel. Seemingly they are smashing through the office building of BABYMETAL's talent agency right after the head guy was notified by the Fox God that EC is on their way to do a collab with BM. The song was written and produced by both BM and EC.

Thanks for this reaction, it MV adds so much more. Even for those who were not that impressed by the song itself. It's been really refreshing seeming them smiling more in official videos, the last album The Other One was their most serious ever. Seems to me the topic is: Electric Callboy in Japan, or Tokyo it's clearly a Japanese office and a karaoke place. I didn't expect a Run DMC & Aerosmith reference, but a good connection. Maybe they all are trying to say something about smashing genre boundaries. We are really hoping for some live performances, their are a bunch of chance for them doing it. Hopefully Fox_fest. Actually, the lead song writer is from Babymetal's side, but as we've seen from the 2 F. Hero collabs that they know when to step back and let the other parties get involved.
