Cangaceiros were pirates. They were outlaws, bandits, etc. Same thing. Pirates, congaceiros, banditos, vikings, conquistadors, etc. pretty much all the same thing.

@@Lord_Raptor no, they were not. That's like saying cowboys were also like pirates, just because they were outlaws. Cangaceiros were more closer to raiders, or even the cowboys than pirates (I didn't even mentioned that pirates used to, y'know, sail in the goddamn sea?!)

Was never a fan of their designs before, looked kinda amateurish or edgy, they've treated their characters like action toys. At least it changed for MK11, which currently has the best character designs; NR have matured enough to really pay attention to the designs and make most of their characters look sick, too bad they've fumbled it with Cetrion, I think she's hot.

rain is a DRIP LORD in mk11 dude, he’s got some of my favorite outfits and gear in the whole game. his more futuristic looking outfit with the white and red color scheme and the futuristic full-face mask with the glowing lines is peak badassery

Revenant designs being the default for so many really uglifies the roster. It's great that NRS gives so many alternates for free though to get around some bad base designs, opposed to some other games. Overall they have a lot of mid designs, but there are so many that it makes up for it with the sheer amount of options.

It really is a shame when they have bangers like Kitana, Sindel and Jade to name a few and my first thought seeing them on the select screen is a slight revulsion from their ugly gray skin. Revenant should have been an alternate and not the other way around, lore be damned.

Cetrion's design relies heavily on her interchangeable parts. Made mine look great with the ashen color scheme and wing like tentacles and head dress.

I'm one of the few people who liked Shang Tsung's base costume. The color pallette is a reference to his original design in the arcades. With the yellow pants and all.

I’m like 5 minutes in and I already kind of have an issue. A lot of gear pieces, like masks and helmets, are such big, integral pieces of the character that I think it’s a bit unfair to rate everything with the default gear when a costume might be designed with a specific gear piece in mind (e.g., a lot of classic costumes came with gear pieces that resemble their classic equivalent)

I honestly love the simplicity of a fair amount of these costumes. This is the game where they really committed to the character's faces being super realistic so there wasn't too much of a reason to get overly-intricate with their designs.

I PERSONALLY think Rain's best design is either his klassic MK Trilogy design. Or MK9. He was the first DLC character I bought for MK9. So many memories playing with that character.

Nightwolf design is awesome but I would say Undead Nightwolf should have been at 8 because the face paint is pretty great also Spawn, Shao Kahn & fire god Liu Kang looks fantastic

I wish Max had time to do deep dives on gear pieces if only because some of them have names that give you lore clues, like Jade having a staff that was a gift from Raiden, Kung Lao with bracers from Nitara, Scorpion with a few items referring to his wife and son; I think Geras has one that points to the direction of his character in MK1

I think MK1 was going for a bit less realism maybe? At least compared to 11, but yeah I LOVE how realistic 11 looks, parts of it look photorealistic to me. I do agree that MK1 looks better when u play it in person than compressed YT footage but I do think it’s still slightly a bit more cartoonish than 11. It still has some realism but it’s like a mix/in between cartoonish and realism.

Mk11 had some of the best(and worst) costumes. Customizing gear pieces was fun too, f all yall, I liked gear. Yeah, krypton sucked, but I got 90% of what I wanted in towers

I'm mixed on it, I'd rather a more simple design then a busy weird ass designs, but Scorpion in MK11 is just 12/10 badass, his best costume ever. I do like the designs in MK1 overall though, the female fighters need to be a bit more attractive tho.

Yes, the victory and intro animations would make a great video, one of those really sick, albeit relatively minor additions they added to this game. I wanted to get the cool animations, so they did a good job.

I hated that the 6-7 characters on the roster were presented as their undead versions. It makes sense that they exist in that fashion for the story mode... but for the baseline arcade experience, unlocks, etc. I would've preferred to see Lui, Kitana, and the rest as their normal selves. Those are the characters we identify and love.

4:26 this is where I think you -should- talk about SOME of the gear equips, Shao's masks are different - but I understand, you're rating by its default or your currently equipped stuff BUT, I think you're still missing stuff if you skip out of the Ninja masks, that ADDS to some of the costumes imho - as you stated Shao isn't a 10/10 because of what you had equipped on his head - BUT you are right, it would get a bit wild 5:19
