When I was a kid, I swore up and down with Posiden as my witness that I would one day attain that dress. I'm almost 30 and I haven't gotten one, but I'm not into owning dresses anymore. I'm spoiled by pants. They're so much easier to walk in.

that’s a very popular fan theory but it isn’t true 😅 at the time the movie was released they werent thinking of huge backstories for every little thing like they do now (which they have no choice to do because of the way the fanbase works today) it was never an intentional mismatch (which is why her “ugly” outfit is accepted by other characters as ugly) the dress was *supposed* to be seen as enviable and fashion forward and it’s supposed to be her “cinderella moment”. pink was IN in the 80s (as seen with the movie pretty in pink) and up until the 2010s opinions on ariel’s dress were very positive BUT trends have changed

@@ModernGurlz thank god that later on they changed Ariel’s official dress to a sea green dress. Though they didn’t change it because te color was unflattering for her, it was because Aurora already had a pink dress and they needed Ariel to look distinctive and unique. This change in her official dress will, sadly, not be seen on the movies, but in everything else it will

Due to Aurora having a pink dress they decided to change ariel pink dress to green so that it doesn't look the same and they wanted every Disney princess to have distinctive and unique dresses color

The problem is that strawberry shortcake is a THEMED character. She's a literal representation of a strawberry shortcake. Pink and red clash horrifically especially if a character isn't themed. This is, was, and always will be a horrible design choice.

@@eulyc.959 because even different shades of red clash more than other colors. Red is very specific. This is why you almost never see multiple shades of red in design, it sticks out far worse than say two different shades of blue.
