I'd take the rocks over the pie personally. I can use the rocks for crafting. The pie is just a one time use food item that doesn't even give a buff. It's identical to gold star cheese. Also, each villager has multiple possible gifts they can give. Except Marnie. Pretty certain she only gifts 12 eggs. Most adult villagers pull from the same list of items.

I remember in my first play through, I got penny. I knew she liked poppys and poppyseed muffins so I was desperate to get my hands on a poppy to make that damn muffin. But I couldn't and ended up giving away a diamond just to get her a gift she liked. Then freaking Lewis comes over and gives me the BLOODY POPPYSEED MUFFIN
