I visited the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway on the 30th May 2013 while on holiday in the Lake District. Locomotives Wroxham Broad from the Bure Valley Railway and Samson from the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway had been brought in to keep the railway running after River Mite, River Irt and River Esk had been severely damaged in a workshop fire. Unusually, replacement passenger services from the Perkins diesel were provided, in place of Lady Wakefield who is receiving an overhaul.
