The unedited video of a sweet gum that had less then zero drop zone, and the homeowner was tired of it dropping leaves on his roof, so it needed to go. Luckily there were not any massive or large branches which was a plus. after taking the top we rigged down some wood until there was no more vertical room, and then I just dropped chunks to finish it off.

Another excellent video…absolutely love this channel. IDK if I’ll ever get to the point where I trust just one Flipline going up/down. I use two just for easing the mind sake lol.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy it. I'm pretty comfortable with it, if I'm super high up, then I'll tend to tie in twice. But if I'm pretty close to the ground, then I'm okay with just one point of tie in

Was there a "complicated removal" (a.k.a. PITA surcharge) fee added to their bill for this tree?

I'm not sure as it's not my company. But I'm sure the price was increased somewhat due to the limited dropzone.

You could name your big saw something classical, like Brutus or Hercules, and then instead of having to repeat "big saw" with hand gestures when you ask for it, you could just say, "Send up Brutus/Hercules!"

You have to listen to your spidey sense on that top. It worked out, but what if it didn't? You knew you did feel comfortable with that movement. I've probably been watching you to long because I notice traits you have like why do you set your chain brake after you turn off your saw, but take it off before you start it? Also when you start rigging down the stem you put your half hitch so close to the notch? A Marl would hold better if you want it that close, but know matter what you use you still get slack in the rope the distance from that knot to the block in free fall. Everyone has opinions and a**holes and I'm just another a**hole with an opinion. Stay safe Max.

If it didn't, then I would have gone for a very fast decent I guess. I hit the break because I don't want to have it nic my leg. Even if it's off, it's just a random thing I do. As for when I start it up, that's how I've done it my entire life, at this point its just part of the saw start-up process in my head. I put the half hitch close to lessen the fall of the piece. I have since started using a marl when I'm close to the ground to prevent it from slipping off, but it does happen on occasion. Everyone does have an opinion, but as long as people are being constructive in their criticism, and critiques of me then I have zero problem with any suggestions.

You talking about what you are doing would be nice… did someone have a radio station talk show on? Would rather listen to you! What did you do with the 10 foot ish stick after your boots hit the ground? Jacob rodgers would not leave us hanging like that… disappointed.
