I watched every second of the 2013 SB from a bar in Portland OR. I'm not a Ravens fan, since i'm from Ohio....but I hate the 49ers, and the Ravens giving them their first L in franchise history in the SB was the greatest thing I have ever seen. Ray Lewis, the greatest linebacker to ever play the game. Even if you hated him when he whooped your QB, you have to respect the way he played the game. Ferocious, tenacious, focused, driven....those are qualities to admire.

I agree. When Ray decided to come back with that severe injury to play in the Superbowl, that as the most heroic thing I've seen in football since Johnny Unitas had a season ending injury to his throwing arm, but still came off the bench in the second half of Superbowl 3 because Namath and the Jets were up by two scores I believe. The amazing thing about that was, he could barely throw a spiral, but he still got his team into the end zone once I'm pure will. I can't think of a better compliment than comparing a player, and a defensive player a that, to Johnny U.

Ray Lewis was always my favorite. He was my inspiration for loving defense and hitting hard. Out of the pads, I was a soft spoken nerd. In the pads, i felt like Lewis. Invincible, hitting everyone with everything I had, every play. I was overwight, so I played noseguard, but i wanted to play smart. I drilled my facemask and weight into the centers arms over and over and caused fumbles and sacks. Ray got me my defensive player titles when I played football

Ray Lewis was the greatest defensive player of all time. He did everything you could ask of a defensive player. He led. He won. He never broke confidence and demeanor. He had singleness of purpose unlike anyone we had witnessed before. His heart was all in the game. He was the ultimate general. The ultimate leader. Ultimate hype man. Ultimate producer.
