Ray Wylie Hubbard is great, along with several other of the kind of outlaw country/blues musicians like Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Jerry Jeff Walker, Billy Joe Shaver, and several others.

Don't know this band, but read they perform outlaw country and a gritty side of Americana. Definitely shades of the deep south flavor, and so exciting his son plays with in. Great tune. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Adam. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada. 🇨🇦

Hari. I’ll be playing Ray Wylie Hubbard cover songs tonight by a campfire. I’ve been a huge fan of his since I was a little kid listening with my dad! Next time I go see my dad at the nursing home for dementia care, I will be taking my guitar and singing some RWH. Love your stuff and glad I subscribed!

RWH is a legend down here in Texas! He is different, no doubt about that, if you want proof of that, check out “drunken poets dream” & “Choctaw bingo”.

Both awesome songs. Ray wrote Drunken Poets Dream with the great Hayes Carll. Choctaw Bingo was written by James McMurtry. 2 more singer/songwriters you should check out.

This is blues. He does outlaw country too, but this is straight blues.

Thanks Harri! I love Ray Wylie. Lucas still plays with him and is incredibly talented. I was looking forward to seeing him on a Canadian tour but the promoter tried to screw him and Hayes Carrl over the money. Ray's been doin it for a lot of years and has always maintained his talent, ability and soul.

I saw that they had to cxl some Canadian shows because of money issues. They seemed genuinely upset that they had to cancel. That sucks. Seems like James McMurtry was on the same bill? Ray and Hayes are 2 of my favorite singer/song writers. Sorry you missed out on seeing them.

Nope, it was written & originally released by James, but the more popular version is Ray Wylie.

Can you please do Angel eyes by the jeff healey band or Whule my guitar gently weeps also by the jeff healey band they may not be upbeat songs but theyre good and jeff healey is my grandma's cousin on my dads side 👍
