J. Wylie Hubbard wrote the 70’s anthem “Up Against the Wall Redneck Mother”✌️ Jerry Jeff Walker covered it too # 1. KZfaq has the songwriter on stage in Austin in the 70’s. Also an extremely video of J. Wylie telling Jerry Jeff about writing the song in Red River, New Mexico. This video will make you smile. It is humorous ✌️

As I was listening to Mr Hubbard's video I thought it sounded like "Swamp Rock", and even a bit like Tony Joe White, then I saw he was accompanied only by a drummer, and I remembered that when I saw Tony Joe White live in 2017 he was accompanied only by a drummer, and I was then stunned when Mr Hubbard actually mentions talking to Tony Joe White, and I thought yep, definitely that funky "Swamp Rock".

Otis Gibbs’s YT channel has great stuff on Ray Wylie. The gratitude stuff is real with Ray, according to Otis and others. Since he got sober, he’s devoted himself to a life of gratitude and being a positive influence and mentor to younger musicians.

Great artist and a great reaction. Wife and I wanted to go to a concert during the winter when things are slow. Never heard of Ray Wylie before, but checked out a couple of of videos and bought the tickets. Had a fantastic time. We talked about him for days after and his song Snake Farm was playing LSS(last song syndrome) in our heads for weeks.

Thanks Harri!! Ray Wylie is an amazing song writer. I was lucky enough to catch him at the hardly strictly bluegrass festival in San Francisco, and he and his band were so good, I got deep into his catalouge and have never heard a bad song.

He’s my cousin, pretty much all his lyrics are true which makes them 100x better. in Choctaw bingo he talks abt giving the kids vodka and cherry soda to make ‘em go to sleep for the family reunion car ride, and after hearing that lyric it finally clicked why I always got cherry soda on the way to Oklahoma
