Easy Southern Style Skillet Sauteed Potatoes
www.raymackskitchenandgrill.co...
Ingredients:
4 Idaho potatoes
1 Large sliced onion
Unsalted butter
1 tablespoon minced garlic
Black pepper
Paprika
Thyme
Parsley flakes
Salt
2 tablespoon water
Directions:
1. Wash, peel, and cut your potatoes in quarters. You can soak them in water to keep them from turning brown.
2. Cook your potatoes in a cast iron skillet, set the stove temperature to Med-High heat. Add 4 tablespoon of butter to the hot skillet, add the potatoes and onions.
3. Add all of your ingredients, please use your own judgment for measuring the seasonings. Mix everything together, place a lid or heavy-duty aluminum foil on top of the skillet.
4. Let it cook for 10-15 mins, flip your potatoes from time to time.
You can adjust the heat if it's to high.
5. Now, remove the lid covering... add 2 tablespoon of water. Your potatoes are done when they become FORK TENDER.
Please enjoy.

I grew up poor. And I mean like no electricity , only food we got from churches type poor. But somehow grandma found a way to make this and French toast almost every day. We never had syrup so we would just melt butter and sugar on the French toast. Point being I still love this recipe to this day.

Having just used this skillet for the first time, kzfaq.infoUgkxIst1DRMCWM6dgd9VjXMFXlH4HeElE6Mc to batter-fry some macaroni & cheese, I'm absolutely in love with it. The foldaway design means it actually fits in my very small kitchen, but it also makes everything crazy simple to clean. While the instructions say you should not deep fry in this, you can, but do it with your best judgment; in my case the oil didn't even reach the halfway mark. It's hard to see in the pictures, but the skillet itself has a lip in the corner. This allows steam to get out during cooking if the lid is on (so don't try to steam rice in it), and makes pouring out used oil extremely easy.Cleanup was a dream. After detaching the plug and control circuit, the unit is just three separate pieces: The skillet itself, the lid, and the base which may or may not need any cleaning at all (usually just the handles). Compared to a dedicated deep fryer I purchased in the past, where the heating element was suspended in the oil and everything was difficult to clean, the difference was amazing.I'm definitely looking forward to using this for more things in the future.

This is something that I grew up with. In the 60s and 70s. My Grandma and my My made this. We called it smothered potatoes. So good.

Try next. 1. Cut potatoes by piramides. It's impotent. Don't slice potatoes. 2. Boil it until half cooked. 3. Drain the water. 2. Add garlic + pepper + 1 spoon oil + other what you like. 3. Then oven 30 min 200 C = 392 F. 4. Fry onions in another pan with spices. You'll have potatoes with brown crust and tender puree under them and testy onion

I cooked them just as you said, went with you step by step with the ingredients as well... when I tell you these turned out PERFECTLY! The only thing I added was red pepper flakes cause I wanted to add some spice to it. Nevertheless? It was AMAZING!! Thank you SO MUCH!

Love this! Sometimes I make too much boiled potatoes to mash so I take some out and fry them up with fried onions so I don't waste food. I will add your garlic and parsley to this now and I bet they will be better! Thanks for the idea! I subscribed too😊
