2 жыл бұрынIn this video I test 4 different style rudder blades on the Deltaforce 23 Fast Electric RC Boat. I'm interested in how the different Rudder shapes, size and thickness affect the Performance of the boat I test all 4 rudders with the Large turn fin the test all 4 Rudders with the small turn fins..
The effect on a boat from Rudder shapes is quite different from blade to blade, Good or bad the shape greatly changes the handling of an RC Boat

again a great vid, thank you for that. i am building up a mono 1 stepped hull (63 cm.)at the moment and use a lot of information from your vids. my setup: 3650 inrunner 3500kv , 90 a esc on 3s lipo, solid 2mm wiredrive shaft 😊

This one's good it goes over its own wake well 👍 you've done a good job.Im doing a Feilun FT011 with rear 4082 motor and a large 6s lipo sits where the motor is normally located to sit it down and mimic a keel for self righting

@@IRONCLADRC I hope you can try it too,hull and lid is cheap from Banggood right now in stock,the trim fin and tab kit is $8 I use the SR80 Vector SR80 Pro metal rudder $25 from Banggood and flycolor 150A with capbank,Ive already had one but I smashed out the rear end in the river rocks so will reinforce the rear end this time..just a thought anyway you can do it or with your motors, lipo in between where motor was is the essential balance

Yea man, maybe I will. Gotta run it by the boss lady. Lol. I've been wanting a ft0011 for a while now. Maybe see who can get the highest top speed. 😉 ya know

@@IRONCLADRC Cool,the hull looks like a carbon stealth bomber,stock I wouldn't buy the RTR I'd buy the hull and lid if you can get the ok 😊 fair enough the extra money can blow the budget.Speed I'm happy either way cool if you could get over 100kph,i think I did that already but should have used GPS,that was my best boat ever grunty and seemed to not handle till I gave it the max power,I will show the boat when it's finished takes me a few days but this one handles on smooth water otherwise you got to back off till water settles 😊

Are you not worried about the way -trim tabs- *turn fins* are mounted on the DF23? They might cause some carnage if they hit something at speed. They will flip up and might damage the transom or the deck :)

What is the purpose of the pivot screw. Does it allow the rudder to pivot free when the rudder hits an obstacle.

Yes, sir, it's designed to kick up when you hit something, we use plastic breakaway screws or special brass screws so they break rather easily... if you didn't have a kick up rudder when you hit debris, log, turtle,etc, a solid mounted rudder will rip the transom off your boat. Very important
