Yeah it makes no sense. I don’t understand why that is considered the high speed gearing? I got 43mph with the stock gearing and 39mph with the optional pinion running two NiMH in series

Cause you’re running at 14,4v with 2 nimh in series. Esc and motor will overheat with larger pinion

Yeah it almost has too much power for it’s size….at least with the stock drivetrain….I don’t know how many of the stock driveshafts I’ve broken at this point?

@@RCKnockout I'm only two weeks into rc cars right now. The inner part flew off on one of mine didn't break tho. Slid it on and snapped it back into the ball and it's been fine since. It's actually my kids. The stability system works pretty well. I'm getting ready to put the proline 1/16 trenchers on it this week. I wish it had a stronger suspension out the box but it will do for now

are you running two 3s lipos, and are you doing it in parallel and also how much mah on both and also c ? I am asking this, as I purchased a second hand one recently, but I got no serial connector or parallel connector :(

Yeah it’ll actually go faster if you run two NiMH in series. But it will start draining pretty quickly compared to a lipo

@@RCKnockout I figured out the issue. I recalibrated my throttle and ensured it was in “sport” mode. Now I get 45.5 on 3s

@@CoolD10 it's been quite a long time since running it but if I remember correctly I didn't have the throttle calibrated. It is crazy fast now and wheelies on command

it will work but running dual NiMH batteries for long periods of time is not good using the stock 50/28 gearing, the reason its fine when using your 2200 is that fully charged 2s lipo is only 8.4 volts, when youre running NiMH in series thats 18 volts fully charged lol, see why it would run hotter, thats why they recommend you use the 23 tooth gear for speed runs so the electronics run cooler but its actually slower, reason its faster cause your pumping 18 volts of power now through it. that said even a 3s lipo is only 12.6 volts fully charged which would still be slower than the NiMH running in series. After 2-3 passes with the NiMH in series, it will be like running a 3s lipo anyway as the voltage drops quick for NiMH's. with the upgrades u can do to the erevo, id just buy a slash, wont break nearly as much and ull have a much better driving experience.

how long does it last on 2200mah with stock gearing? im thinking of getting the same one? also if you full throttle does it wheelie at all on stock gearing?

@@RCKnockout I just put a 3670 can in mine lol. I don't even know how fast itll go (yet) because i broke my driveshafts before i could test it. I have hardened steel outer drive shafts on the way in the mail. My center driveshafts were already steel so i thought itd be ok to leave the outer ones stock, since the brunt of the force goes through the center driveshafts before being split 4 ways, but nope lol. It was WAY WAY too much power for the stock outer drive shafts lol. I LITERALLY didnt even go past 1/4 throttle AND I had my throttle inputs set to "soft" and they still snapped. I basically wheelied at 1/4 throttle so hard that the rear right shaft just snapped lol. It has waaaaaay too much power for a 1/16 scale because it's a 1/8th scale motor. Like whenever you need power its ALL there all the time, and then some. As for your setup, I'd reccomend that you run two 3s lipos in parallel and youll almost certainly hit 50mph. Your lipos are basically sagging to much with only one 3s lipo and high gearing. Using 2 of them in parallel doubles the potential discharge rate without increasing voltage. Alternatively you can use higher c lipos like a 120c or better, and stick with using just one 3s lipo and you should still hit 50mph or atleast 48 or so. Rightnow your battery is bottlenecking your performance. I use 2 120c 2200mah 2s lipos in series for 4s in my setup. I honestly don't think you should run two 3s in series in your setup, because 6s will fry everything, but running them in parallel should be just fine for your electronics since voltage stays the same. All that should change is that your battery will sag less since all the work will be split between 2 batteries. Running in parallel means more punch but at the same voltage.

The one jumper I bought says it’s not for Lipo batteries just the NiMH..I don’t think they’d even plug in if I remember correctly…yeah to be honest the 1/16 e Revo has plenty of power stock.. I can’t imagine running a 1/8 scale system in it..you still run the stock tires?

@@RCKnockout Yes I run the stock tires, but ive not been able to push it to anywhere near its limits yet. Just testing the motor on the stand nearly blew the stock tires up. I havent even drained a lipo without it breaking something in the drivetrain. I am running 4s, I made myself a series connector with 12gauge wire and 3 xt60s and connected 2 x 2200mah 2s in series for 4s. Using a cheap 120amp esc. My esc plus motor actually only cost me 65 bucks on amazon (its like 75 on amazon now) Stock my revo was super slow but thats because i originaly had the brushed version that only goes 20mph. I got the brushed one because it had the motor mount size i wanted and it was 120 dollars cheaper. I figured it made more sense to buy brushed since i was replacing the motor and esc immediately anyways. My diffs do NOT hold up though even at 1/4 throttle on pavement. Im gonna be trying the hot racing diffs front and back next to see if they can put the power to the ground without falling apart like the stock diffs. Even with shims my stock diffs wont survive a full battery even when i baby it with low throttle.
