I just picked one up, the brushless with a couple of 2s lipo's, A few years ago I use to have the stampede with the titan 550, and upgraded to VXL later, was so much fun doing wheelies, got rid of it as I moved and worked way to much, I hope this mini e-revo is just as awesome!

@@VikingDudee how is the mini Revo? I had brushless stampede and emax but had to sell them for same reason as you. Just ordered brushed for the nephew and brushless for me. I'm excited! Oh and also the brushless 1/18 Losi Mini T 2.0 😁

Tsm on the vxl just a gyro built in to the receiver. Like the gyros used on tenth scale drift cars

Hey I want a rc car that cost like $350 that has some good power and can go in somewhat thick grass do you have any recommendations?? Thanks

@@SimD4 Sorry I was driving. For thick grass the rustler 4x4 might be too low maybe the brushed stampede 4x4 or the arrma granite the brushless model is 369 though but if you are trying to stay under 350 you can get the brushed model for 269 and upgrade it. The stampede brushed for 329 would put you almost at the top of 350 no room to upgrade.

Question please Using nihm to lipo battery Doea it need to reprogram the esc again when switching this two battery?

Yes you will have to reprogram esc everytime you switch between the 2. If you use a nimh on lipo mode you will hardly get any use out of it before the esc cuts out and the voltage may start too high to where it will just cut out immediately. If you use a lipo in nimh mode you will for sure damage that lipo the esc is supposed to cut power when the voltage gets too low. But in nimh mode it will just keep going best case scenario it damages the lipo worst case it will catch on fire. Not to scare you from lipo but if not used properly it can happen. I suggest sell the nimh get a second lipo then you can get the parallel cable and run them together and it will last twice as long each run.

What is the difference in the pinion gears and spur gears? I've had a regular brushed e-revo and I'm now converting it into a vxl.

The spur gears are the same they both have the 50 tooth and the pinion gear on the brushed model is 23 tooth and the brushless model is 28 tooth the high speed gear for dual nimh batteries in series is 23 tooth they gear down to keep motor cooler.

Thank you glad it helped The run time on the stock battery won't be very long maybe 10 minutes Is what I've heard online I personally haven't tested the run time on them

Great video! Which would you recommend for a small back yard? I'm not sure if brushed would be too boring or brushless would be too fast. Or would you recommend something different?

Thank you I would always go witht the faster brushless otherwise you'll upgrade it to brushless in the future. It wouldn't be uncontrollable with a 2s or the stock nimh. When you go to 3s thats when it starts going fast. But the brushed one isn't that slow its about 20 mph top speed in a small area it would feel quick What kind of terrain is the backyard

@@OverBudgetRC That's true, just watched some speed test videos and you're right 3s is when it really starts to move. I'll be driving mostly on short cut grass.

@@turdferguson8412 you may want something a little bigger like a rustler 4x4 for grass the mini revo might be a little too small i will be doing a comparison between the 2 someone asked me to. It should be out sunday.

You can upgrade to brushless for cheap with the brushed model though since it already has 36mm motor mounts for. 3650. I just put a 3670 brushless in my merv. I wouldn't reccomend it though because you need to get custom springs and stuff to deal with all the weight.

@@alexcrowder1673 you'll want to upgrade your drive train if you swap to brushless. It's far more economical to just get the brushless to start. E revo is limited by size, so if you want one to start tons of upgrades, go 1/10

It could but the tires might be too skinny you might want a monster truck like a stampede or hoss

Hey if it still works why not. I had a stampede that I bought as a kit with a mechanical speed controller. I bought it in 2000 for $85 and finally sold it in 2018. When I sold it was brushless with my own version of the front wide kit, before rpm ever had a kit using the rear arms up front.

Just checked the Traxxas website, seems they both fit #7111 body shell, so I can swap it with my kid (getting him a brushed version, he's only 5 😁)

@@kambernebojsa ya they are both the same except for the hole for the antenna on the brushed version but to put a brushless body on a brushed one just make a hole for the antenna.

@@shajabshan the tqi is the better transmitter that uses the shorter antenna and there are other ones that have a built in antenna i don't know which ones I've always just used the tqi except on my corvette project ill be using a radiolink rc6gs v2 which has a dual antenna but you can keep them short. So they won't stick out of the body.

Tq 2.4 can be shortened just don’t cut the wire, only cut the blue tube itself. Put the excess wire inside the receiver box. You will not notice any difference in signal. Not sure why traxxas bring them out with long antennas, most probably a marketing thing to get people to buy the vxl model.

Would you be able to fit the 1/10 velenion combo in the 1/16 erevo?

Yes you can fit it in the brushed model or change tranny plate in brushless model you will just have to figure out how to mount esc its a little bigger. If you wanted to go crazy the 1/10 revo motor fits too sure its on the ground from the weight but it still fits lol.

So it depends on how much you want to spend and how much space you, the mini one, would be better for smaller areas or on a lower budget. The revo 2.0 is better for bigger areas but also a higher budget. The only thing is the revo 2.0 might be discontinued its not on the traxxas website anymore. You might find some left at a hobby shop or a used one.

This video is exactly what I was looking for also. There is a heap of them running. I wanted to know structurally / internally if there were any differences. Thus video was perfect. It's great how you also went out of your way to tell people from the start that you were doing just this. I'm surprised that people still complain regardless. Love your work 💯
