I think it's a combination of mental illness and actually caring about the group

She would be a really strong candidate but Yeseo still has the most idol experience, she debuted as an original 1st generation member of the kid K-pop group CutieL in 2010 so she still has about 5 years of experience on Yujin (although limited since kid groups tend to not have a lot of activities). Yujin is also the leader of the group so she automatically takes on a lot of promotional responsibility for the group. There's usually not an overlap of the same member being the leader and FOTG since leaders tend to do a lot of the same promotional activities as a FOTG + more.

it's evident they didn't want hiyyih and fumbled so hard on her. she was a new trainee but was already showing her talent in singing and especially dancing! i understand why they didn't want to expand her dancing abilities due to having k1 c1 and j1 there already but her voice is very recognizable and crystal clear, and this group is not as strong on the vocal side due to the abundance of dancers hiyyih could've been DEVOURING the stage as a lead vocalist all this time had she received proper training but oh well

oh and appreciating yeseo’s talents. shes apart of my bias line & i feel like she’s very underappreciated but she’s such a star.

I understand the concern, believe me I do, but I did take into consideration how to maximize their time as a group while promoting them as the global group Mnet promised they would be without overworking them. For comparison, they released 3 Korean mini albums in 2022 in reality. They also competed on Queendom (a stressful waste of time). They had their Japanese debut with a pre-release then the extended single and released a single for Universe. That's 5 in one year not counting the 6 Queendom songs which were all prepared in a span of like 5 months? 2023 has been much less eventful but they've still released a Japanese comeback with 2 pre-releases, a mini album, and a comeback slated for next month. Iz*One had 4 Korean mini albums and 1 full length album as well as 6 Japanese releases not including pre-releases. It's also widely believed that had the scandal not interrupted they would have had at least one other Korean release. I admit I'm not the best at math but that would make a total of 11 releases not counting the assumed last release nor the pre-releases. That's same as my planned releases for Kep1er. Also in less time than my Kep1er releases (Oct 2018-Dec 2020 vs Jan 2022-June 2024). The tour schedules also reflect the strain it puts on the performers with them almost always getting at least a day to rest in between traveling and performing. But the tours are also not set in stone things, just suggestions for a good way to spend the time in between releases. 3 full months between Impact and Dream. Early June-early July Asia tour. Light in early September. Oct-Dec Asia tour. December JPN debut. 2 months until Flight in March. June=For The Sky. July=First Journey. Late July-Oct world tour. Oct JPN promo/tour, late Nov-Jan empty schedule with one(1) pre-release stage for New Year's. Feb-early April Asia tour. Full album in April, JPN anthology in May. End of May Korean pre-release. Final album mid-June. I counted 10 months with no releases or tour schedules which is fair for a ~30 month project group contract IMO. If they were a group with a ~7 YEAR contract, I would agree this could all be more spread out but they have comparatively very little time to reach their full potential as a group. For another (slight) comparison, in 2017 Twice had 7 releases in Korean and Japanese in just one year. I get your point but that's also why I mentioned the specific dates I had in mind, because I know this is a lot for a non-project group but they should maximize the limited time they have so they have a much stronger foundation when the group disbands and fans feel like it was worth it to invest in the group. I appreciate the concern but I was trying to be considerate of the time they have to do any and all of this 😀

Appreciate the feedback! I answered both of those concerns in other comments but in short: I did calculate the time and considered how much work it was while planning and my main goal was that they maximize their limited time. They have a ~30 month contract and out of those 30 I counted 10 months where they have no schedules, music or tour. They also release the same amount of music as Iz*One in more time so it's not an unprecedented amount of releases ^^' As for the FOTG, it's more than just a visual role, it's also about representing the group as an individual. For example with LOONA both Vivi and Go Won are gorgeous and are considered visuals in the group but Heejin and Chuu are the FOTG because they're better promotional members (entertaining, book a lot of cfs/acting roles, represent the group) and that was the logic I went into with Kep1er as well. Yeseo has 10 years of experience and should be pushed more as a FOTG because she can act, she can go on variety etc and she also fits Korean beauty standards being considered one of Kep1er's top visuals among Knetz along with Xiaoting and Chaehyun. It's nothing against Bahiyyih or her popularity as I know she'll be pushed as the FOTG when she redebuts :)

I LOVED Up. Still don't really like Wa Da Da but Up was really what convinced me that they're being horribly mismanaged (and very partly inspired this video) but I had already planned like 4 of their releases by the time Doublast was out so it just didn't fit with my plans, unfortunately :/

A FOTG is not just a distinct visual but also someone who can represent the group. Yeseo has a lot of experience and she fits Korean beauty standards well which makes her a great member to send on variety, do acting cameos, film ads etc. Bahiyyih is a bit more reserved while filming content from what I've seen so despite being popular and recognizable she isn't someone I consider a strong promotional member. Xiaoting is also more reserved on camera but she's brought a lot of attention to Kep1er such as from her ISAC Dancesport performance. As for the vocal positions, like I said in the video, I based it on their skills *at debut* and inarguably at debut Yeseo was a much stronger vocalist. Currently Bahiyyih has improved a lot and I can easily see her go onto a more prominent vocal position when she debuts again but her skills are still less developed and she's not as technically proficient as Mashiro and Yeseo. She sounds good but she's not a stronger vocalist than Yeseo who, again, has like 10 years of experience as an active idol and entertainer. A lead vocal is supposed to be a member who is very technically proficient and could be a main vocal if they didn't have a more capable member in the line up and Yeseo was a main vocalist in Busters. But more importantly, I wanted the sound of the group to highlight Chaehyun and Yeseo's vocal tones so their songs are more recognizable and stand out so if Yeseo isn't a lead vocal in that scenario then it wouldn't really work. Aaaa I definitely would have since I also love all the songs on Lovestruck and Dreams and more but it's less a matter of them being out when the video was released and me creating the albums etc before even Doublast was released😅 I was finalizing everything around Troubleshooter and hadn't actually listened to the album until early 2023 and, by then, I already had this entire vision laid out and was working on the script (the editing took actual ages) if I were to remake this I would definitely work more actual Kep1er songs in there, especially ones like Back to the City that only reinforce my point that they should lean into deep house and retro synthpop 🥰

I've thought about doing this for a lot of groups but I will admit CheBul had not yet crossed my mind for some reason... the only reason why I felt somewhat comfortable doing it with Kep1er is bc I know all the members so I really have to get to know the CheBul girls and their vocals better before embarking on that 🫣 but I do have a concept in mind already 👀

Well seeing as this video was posted almost a full year before Shooting Star was released it doesn't factor into my thoughts at the time at all :)

I mean when it comes to chemistry, Iz*one was a match made in heaven for real. Even before debuting they felt like a group when some permanent groups actually (to me) haven’t the same power just like Ive. I don’t think Kep1er’s line up was cohesive enough when it comes to chemistry but when it comes to talent there’s way less filling members (and this is coming from a wizone). They were literally carried only by Eunbi, Chaeyeon, Yuri, Chaewon, Yujin and Yena talent wise. Kep1er on the other hand have 6 very talented dancers and 1 singer, only two members aren’t very good at a specific position. So they could compensate the lack of chemistry with talent.

That's one of those cases where correlation doesn't mean causation. Iz*one was popular because they had good music, a nice consistent concept, and a relatively solid and united fanbase. Kep1er doesn't really have any of that. Besides, 8/9 of them had loads of screentime and angel edits during girls planet, so even if mnet were to rig the lineup they'd probably only change one member, two at the very most, which would barely make a difference as the most popular contestants ended up debuting in kep1er anyways

mnet actually did not rigg it to match who would appeal to the gp, they rigged it based on which company paid them more. they had already taken bribes and based the concept on the girls they already knew would make the final line up. with gp999 they couldnt plan ahead of time because they couldnt take bribes anymore.

Replace yujin, mashiro, yeseo, bahyihh with yurina, shana, wen zhe, and suyeon.

Not really, the similarities are only the units coming together from different places, the girls here have powers too but they're different then loona's where only oec have powers, here the whole group does. oec are also the only supposed girls to know about world jumping, while here only Yeseo knows about time which is the center of the whole lore

@@psti_ I know, I watched the video , still is really similar, since it's a Re-imagining and they both have space concepts I think more things should have been added to diferentiate and make it unique.

I thought I am the only one who noticed. She gave lead dancer position to Mashiro and Bahiyyih but not to Yujin.

Sorry, I don't understand where you got the sense that I was saying Stayc took Kep1er’s place? The only part of the video that mentioned anything similar was when I said I would not have Kep1er go on Queendom and a group such as Stayc or similar should have been there instead. It wasn't a comment on whether Stayc "took Kep1er’s place", it was just because Queendom2 would need a 6th contestant and, in my opinion, Stayc should have been the first pick for that anyways. Glad you liked the video but a bit disappointed that you misunderstood my intentions with that statement :/
