Never watched this show, but that small bit of gun discipline at the end with Reacher lowering his weapon to mitigate potential crossfire is something you don’t see in movies and TV too much, and it was nice to see. Happy to see my boy Alan Ritchinson get a chance to show what he’s made of, not too shabby, just a little monotone (but that might be the character).

Reacher reminds me of Batman with that kind of interrogation. I can't recall the Arkham game where he holds someone over the edge of a building with one arm demanding to know "who sent them?"

Yep! I agree 100%. I have a fanfic reality where this Reacher keeps the money from the bad guys and uses it to become just that, a Bat themed vigilante hero. That way he can afford the Batman equipment. He would then be his world's version of Batman, instead of billionaire Bruce Wayne. It would be once Hobo, Jack Reacher, who uses the money from Drug Dealers and organized crime figures he takes down to fund his vigilante career. At the end of one of these seasons he's forced to assume a disguise because he becomes a very wanted man. His situation sort of hinted at the end of Christian Bale's The Dark Knight, where he's on the run from Organized Crime and Law Enforcement entities, and fighting them both when they are criminally wrong.

Reacher is on FULL BATMAN INTEROGATION MODE
@jonathancummings64003 ай бұрын
He's just full on Batman period. The changes the producers made from the book and movie character makes him a Batman variant, who's willing to kill and doesn't (yet) wear the costume. He has it all, the strength, the fighting ability, the intelligence, the world's greatest Detective ability. He's Batman without the cute gadgets, without the advanced tech vehicles. I think the show is doing so well because it's drawing in all of us Batman fans. There is a vast number of Batman fans throughout the character's history, from 1939 onward. Reacher is so much better than any Batman since Keaton's and he's a different variant, more willing to kill, more like someone who could fight Bane without dying right away. This guy is someone that a Bane would actually consider defeating as an accomplishment.

Why would Swan hire hitmen with his own damned name. Think about it.
@justinchan18874 ай бұрын

Played a war game on a computer at The National Army Museum, London. The scenario was an insurgent attack in iraq. If you captured insurgents but didn't torture them then you could win but lost troops. If you tortured them they gave up the ambush positions and all your troops got to go home but you lost as torture is illegal 🤷
@Teth474 ай бұрын
Torture also gives unreliable information. People will say whatever they think makes the pain stop, even if it's bullshit. That is why it's illegal. It's less about the infliction of suffering on bad actors and more about the fact that it doesn't work that well at getting good intel.

This is one of the two reasons I really don't like it when he goes book-accurate: This is just way too much power and skill to be in the hands of one man, even a heroic one. If this were real life, imagine if Reacher were a corrupt govt employee...and the man interrogated was an innocent citizen...
