@@ChefDeli87 You and Doc are confusing what JJ Redick said. He didn't call him a bad coach. He never disputed that he had success with Doc. He stated something that a lot or most people agree with. That Doc often dodges responsibility and throws his former teams under the bus so that he doesn't look as bad. The funny thing is that this Doc Rivers response just proves JJ's point. Also JJ has said that he had multiple offers to start he just chose the Clippers because he wanted to win. Obviously Doc wants to take credit for JJ's career so that he looks better, but JJ was on the come up. He was going to be a starter going forward. I am not saying Doc didn't help JJ, but to try to take credit for his success instead of actually responding to what JJ said is immature.

Someone should tell Doc that JJ's best year of his career was in 2018-2019 with 76ers that was coached by Brett Brown NOT Doc Rivers, 2nd Best year was his first year with the 76ers, 3rd Best year was his last year with the Magic, and I would say his 4th Best year was his first season with the Pelicans... Doc's impact barely reaches JJ's top 5 seasons...

JJ Redick was a great college basketball player and one of the best shooters to ever live... Doc is acting like he picked this guy up from the local Bestbuy and made him a good player. If anything, this is an indictment against SVG for not utilizing Redick more when he was with Orlando. How Pat Riley managed to develop unknowns like Max Strus or Duncan Robinson is more impressive than Doc Rivers deciding to start JJ

Doc finished the season worse than the guy he replaced, and got the team knocked out in the 1st round of the playoffs regardless of injuries. You being the brilliant coach you’re advertised to be, you’re supposed to overcome all of that. Glenn Rivers has been done for a while.

You word it like the players don't play and impact winning or losing. He didn't get the team knocked out, the players lost. The players also did something no other team in history did and that was win a playoff game with the 2 top players out due to injury. If you read my last sentence, you should understand how difficult it is to win multiple games or the entire series with top 2 players out.

The thing that furthers JJ's point is several players on those Clippers teams have gone on record talking about their own failures, about how they weren't mentally tough enough, they've been open about taking the blame and for the most part never really said anything about Doc. Then when Doc went on a podcast and started blaming the players you saw a shift from JJ, Crawford, Matt Barnes. Now they're taking shots at him because what JJ said is absolutely true. JJ never said Doc was a bad coach, he said he doesn't take accountability and other players have come out and said the same exact thing. Rather than address the point, Doc and his son decided to ignore it because even they know it's true, if it wasn't true then they both could have pointed to numerous times where Doc has taken responsibility.

What has JJ Reddick ever said about basketball that makes you call him a genius 🤣 What stats or analytics has he blessed you with that males you call him smart?? He has made some dumb comments and blasted Doc Rivers and that's supposed to make him head coach material...? He barely talks during telecasts of nba games. He writes out some basic pick and roll plays on a whiteboard and he gets cool guests... Toronto and Charlotte don't want him and they are terrible, but here come the clowns wanting him to have a prestigious job like the Lakers and he's never even coached JV on the high school level. Wow smh

He has enough respect of his basketball intellect that Lebron, one of the best and smartest players to ever play the game, wanted to do a podcast with him where they do a deep dive into the weeds of basketball and whats actually happening on the court. If he has the respect of one of the greats, he has my respect, especially because he unlike others has the ability to articulate it in an accessible way. So I'm not sure who else needs to tell you that he knows what he's talking about before you start believing it but maybe you the problem and not everyone else
@1JamesHunter
@1JamesHunter 19 күн бұрын
@@DaHomieRoach OKay lol Then, How come Charlotte and Toronto didn't hire him?? If you understood basketball you would see how simplistic those plays they put on the whiteboard are... not trying to insult you, but there's a difference between your funny af friend and a standup comedian. There's a difference between an ex player regurgitating basic plays on a white board and a head coach who has to put all his players in position to succeed and motivate an entire locker room of millionaires for 6 months, day in and day out. Seeing Lebron on a podcast doesn't mean squat. He's in a Taco Bell commercial, too. what would you read into that? He has his own podcast with his best friends, How come you don't say one of those will be Lakers' next coach? JJ Reddick is not a head coach. He needs experience watching and living in the administration of a team. Period.
@DaHomieRoach
@DaHomieRoach 19 күн бұрын
@@1JamesHunter you seem to misunderstand what the podcast is about. No shit the plays aren't groundbreaking and super complex. None of the plays are. They dont have to be, because the talent level is so high. Its just about creating matchup problems, forcing the defense to make a decision. Its not rocket science, but some fans of basketball who have never actually played organized basketball doesn't know these concepts. Thats who the podcast is for. Since you know everything clearly, why even watch or listen to anything? You have absorbed all information there is to absorb, so why dont you just keep to yourself instead of making dumbass comments like JJ Reddick not getting selected as a head coach somehow diminishes his basketball intellect. No one is calling him a genius, but he's damn good at his job and I feel sorry for you that you're not able to differentiate that
@1JamesHunter
@1JamesHunter 12 күн бұрын
@DaHomieRoach If you knew anything about basketball, you would know that the crap he and Lebron discuss on their little whiteboard is as basic as basketball can get... You're impressed with all the simple terminology and acronyms. The plays they draw up even elementary school children run those plays. That's AAU plays. Not the Triangle Offense or The Princeton offense or the Spurs Hammer system. It's a good podcast for people who want a little insight into how easy NBA plays are to diagram today. Every team comes down to a 2 man game, resulting in a drive to the basket and a kick out pass for a 3... They don't want these players to have to think because it will slow down their reaction time. So, they allow them the freedom to mostly play the game without much thought. Just like these simple concepts JJ draws up. And, how he keeps a job as a tv analyst is beyond me. He offers about as much insight to a basketball game as Stevie Wonder would.

His best numbers started under Doc Rivers because the clippers played with alot of fastbreaks and screeningbto get him open. We need to remember JJ wasbin the league for 8yrs before Doc got him from Milwaukee because he had stop playt as much because of his defense so Clippers played a up tempo game we alot screens and his scoring averages went up. During that time other teams figured out how JJ could be successful so if it wasn't for Doc JJ probably would have started a bench player because he was a liability on defense in alot of teams eyes until they saw that he could be successful and they got that from how Doc played him
