The DIY she used is well known traditional Indian masks that has been used for years by us. This can also be used as gentle physical exfoliate on skin if you are ok with this. Some replace milk with curd, honey with rose water, gram flour with rice flour. If you are interested in turmeric try to go for wild turmeric or even white turmeric from shesha ayurveda, they make really good tradition Ayurvedic products

@@jodiesteinberg1217 And you need to realised that all generalisations, including your own are false. Often times it is, and I wouldn't be surprised if Iman had had some form of work done which wasn't an out and out face lift (there's other procedures), but we can look at photos of people from before facelifts were really a thing and still find instances of people looking considerably younger than their age. My mother is now almost 60 and right up until she had a period of severely poor health about five years ago (and her hair started to grey), she was still getting mistaken for being 30s-40s. She doesn't agree with cosmetic surgery, and thinks to look your age is a gift, especially given now she survived cancer. My big sibling is 31, and people still ask them what A levels they're doing. I'm 26 and most people seem to think I'm 18-21 Please understand that there's a massive range in genetics and what any one age looks like. I do believe that celebrities in particular should be honest with the public as to what work has been done, but it's also incredibly gross to assume that every woman who 'looks' like society's expectation of 50 whilst being in their 60s has had cosmetic surgery. I know a woman who I used to work with who looked similarly 10-15 years younger than her age who, on top of never having any work done, had actually lived a rather hard life which people used to discount simply because she still "looked good".

I actually diagree with you about the PTR eye patches being too expensive! $75 for 30 pairs comes out to $2.50 per pair, where as the Wander beauty is $25 for 5 ($5 per pair), so although the up front cost is more expensive for PTR, it's actually a better value in the long run!

The eyepatches she uses is actually a better deal than the wander beauty Bec each eye patch set is only 2.5 dollars while for wander it’s 5 dollars (75/30=2.5 and 25/5=5) it is more upfront but if you are a regular user of the patches then it is a better deal.

I am from Sri Lanka...we use a DIY face mask using turmeric, vetiver and gram flour...if you need more hydration you can add some honey or milk too. Once a week is enough (wouldn't recommend daily use). Works great for deep cleansing, exfoliation, oil control, hyper pigmentation/ blemishes, gets rid of mild tan, blackheads and whiteheads. Re. the staining...i have light golden brown skintone and yes this gives a "glow" and overall skin brightening effect by enhancing the overall golden tone which is naturally present in most South Asian complexions! However it might be too "yellowish" for pinker/ fairer complexions.

Hi, I am a pharmacist and what caught my eye in the 111skin is that it has Aesculus hippocastanum in it, so it has escin and esculin as active ingredients, they are popular in treatment of varicose veins, in gels and creams, at least where I live (Poland). It is a very good ingredient for visible capillaries but 111skin creams are highly overpriced for what they are. It is for sure more advanced formulation then these gels for legs, because these are usually alcohol based extracts (Hippocastani seminis extractum spissum (extracted by 70% ethanol v/v)) but still. I have to say though, I would like to see more cosmetics with Aesculus hippocastanum, esculin, escin, troxerutin, Gingko biloba, Plantago lanceolata and also Arnica montana for the face, they are widely used as topical treatment of body issues (varicose veins, haemorroids, bruises) but not so much on the face in cosmetics. In Poland, we have a brand Redblocker which uses these ingredients and it it catered tto couperose skin, and eye gels with arnica in them to fight dark circles. I would love to know if there are some creams like that in the US (but more affordable)?

Also how I could forget: Ruscus aculeatus and Vitis vinifera (grape) have very good ingredients; I am not a fan of clean beauty, but these plants are commonly used in medicine and I learned about them in pharmacognosy classed at the uni. Most of them have EU monographs for specific plant parts and were assessed positively by HMPC of European Medicine Agency (EMA) in earlier comment I omitted the specification of part of the plant, but it is also very important to consider when thinking about active ingredients, they can be different in different parts of plant for example for Aesculus hippocastanum monographs describe cortex and semen (seeds); for Arnica montana- flos (flower) etc.

Hi Maria! How cool that you are a pharmacist! There are two American brands that have some product ingredients that you mentioned and are quite inexpensive. One is an over night cream/mask by Paulas Choice called Resist anti aging eye cream and the other is by First Aid Beauty called Arnica relief and rescue mask. I have not tried either but I have used both of their brands and loved them for my sensitive face. The Paulas Choice one has a lot of great peptides, licorice extract, (could be irritating for some yes)? Not me though … And resveratrol. Which funny enough I have been taking in pill form for years for my arthritis inflammation. 😊 The first aid beauty one has Arnica that you were describing that sounded to me like it may be really fun to test and see if it does anything for the under eye area or face in general. 😊 www.sephora.com/product/first-aid-beauty-fab-pharma-arnica-relief-rescue-mask-P453103?country_switch=us&lang=en&skuId=2283323&om_mmc=ppc-GG_1987722893_73747438040_pla-418054093902_2283323_353573795657_1027583_m&ds_rl=1261471&gbraid=0AAAAADnIXb2smleVhCZtEcF24rVIIznbh&gbraid=0AAAAADnIXb2smleVhCZtEcF24rVIIznbh&gclid=CjwKCAiArOqOBhBmEiwAsgeLmVxdAtzITMfZzQdvL9Me74jjaidj5GXtaH9gAl-XmNPluMoHQaZPlBoCpbcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds www.paulaschoice.com/resist-anti-aging-eye-cream/790-7907.html?PLAUSNBTrial&p=REPAIRSKIN&gclid=CjwKCAiArOqOBhBmEiwAsgeLmXV2vB-f_hftRGghuJnN6eUaDRGyh6ovw5iJR3aEoJUvPwXEbetiZxoCtXcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Thanks for reminding me about homemade turmeric mask. I need to do this ASAP. Mine is honey, tumeric, egg yolk, and a bit of grapeseed oil for distressed skin (I read that oil helps with penetration, and grapeseed oil is soothing on my skin). It leaves f____ing mess when rinsing off, though. Iman was at her height in the 80s. What I love about her is that she was a huge success with her original Somalian nose. She only had her nose done after a taxi accident forced her to have reconstructive surgery. Or so the story goes.

Hi dear! Yes, I would like for you to try the DIY face mask - with a substitute for the honey. I'm curious to see just how much staining the tumeric causes. (I'm a Caucasian 65 year old woman; my skin is kind of a lighter side to medium color. I have dark brown hair & brown eyes.) Thanks! I hope you DO try it & share the results in a video. Love your enthusiasm & am grateful for the skincare info. & recommendations you provide. Most of all, I appreciate your honesty & courage.💕💖😊

Cass, could we do a dive into makeup + spf? I mean, every time I try to apply makeup over a full face of sunscreen (using the proper amount), it doesn't look good. I'm also concerned that the makeup opens up the layer of sunscreen I put on. So I've been looking into makeup that also has spf, for foundation it is more commom, but concealers and other stuff don't ususally contain spf

Some topics would be, what kind of sunscreen (water resistant would be better in this situation?). Some sunscreens seem to make color cosmetics oxidize and look orange (why does it happen?). Having oily skin, almost every sunscreen makes me shine, so can matte foundations counteract that? And overall different combinations of foundation and sunscreen, regarding finishes on the skin

I love my truskin retinol and teatrical stem cell moisturizer. It’s maintained my skin for years. I’ve been using the moisturizer since I was 23 and am 28 now. My focus and money go towards my diet which is what truly maintain my skin. I spend a max of 200 a year on my skin and that includes my sunscreen

SK II is owned by Proctor and Gamble, but they didn’t start out that way. That’s why the price tag is so much. I don’t agree with keeping the price so high after being bought by a large corporation, but that’s the brand esthetic. Just because something is owned by Revlon as you say, doesn’t mean that Revlon developed it.

I’m 53 going on 54, I have never really taken care of my skin until the last two years. Never really worn sunscreen, smoked for a number of years, I did stop 30 years ago though. Let’s put it this way, I was rough on my body inside and out. I was also in the Army for 4.5 years, definitely not skin or body friendly. I have suffered from migraines since I was 10, so I do have Botox done for that. I’ve really embraced your skin care advice, thank you so much. P.S. I’m a nurse as well so my skin is always breaking out too!!

That’s usually how you can tell a black person is older instead of wrinkles. They get like the darkness around their eyes. You get like hyper pigmentation and like more sagging skin. So there’s always a trade-off.
@Zhenevjev

Turmeric mask was a breaktrough for me! First of all, unfortunatelly, i am a compulsive picker, so i always have something to heal or counteract the possible hyperpigmentation. Secondly, was in some heavy Pms periods, not breaking out as much as my face was extremely inflamed on the inside, could not even touch it. I gave it a go because i was really desperate, and been using it for years ever since! I realised it has some drying properties, so i guess it is why it really calms the inflamation and pulls out the excess puss, heals wounds very quickly, and def can brighten the dark spots. For me, the yellow staining goes away more or less during the night, especially if you moistures the skin afterward. It is drying, so some repairing balm or cream after is a must! My sos go to is turmeric mask + la roche cicaplast baume b5. Would recommend this mask!

The SKII is legitimately just a trophy and is essentially galactomyces. I think the Benton fermentation essence has an all-around better formulation in terms of benefits with two fermentations, ceramides, peptides and botanical extracts for under $20... and is cruelty-free unlike loreal and its umbrella brands

I loooove tuemric but it really stains lmao, so what ive done before, is sometimes i would take like a lil bit of powder and put it along with my nightcrea, but like its just a lilttle. i also put the mask at night when i know i dont have nothign to do the next day, but you can cover the stain with make up its okay. i also used to put a lil on break outs (i dont have acne, its just random pimples i get)

I've done that DIY mask in my teens about 10 years ago. i liked what it did for my skin but I'm really pale so it stained my skin horribly. I used makeup remover and facewash and scrubbed my face a little too much to try to get it clean. but still had a yellow tone to it. so I wouldn't recommend the mask for pale people. unless you stay inside for a few days until the tint is gone.

7:00 I have a dupe for the gold eye patches!! In my skincare fridge I actually keep my golden eye patches from Revolution Skincare (and they’re vegan and cruelty free). It’s literally the same ingredients - Revolution Skincare are really good at making affordable dupes for many (unnecessarily) expensive products. I’ve got dupes for the Huda Beauty Wishful pineapple gommage and Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate face oil, just to name a few. I can also recommend their 2% Salicylic acid serum. And, their eye patches are really good! ✌️😽💗

Hey Cassandra! I think that the serum she uses is from the French brand Biologique Recherche, I don't know which one. It is a brand that is found in esthetician offices and is veeery expensive. From what I've seen a lot of people swear by it and it is often not sponsored.

Iman is 66 and she looks insane and her skin is flawless. I hope I can look like that even at 50. The only thing is.. the Peter Roth patches are actually way cheaper than the Wander Beauty ones😂 the Peter Roth are $75 for 60 patches / 30 pairs which comes to $2.50 per pair instead of $4.33 per pair with Wander Beauty. I’ve had the Peter Roth ones and are nice, I’m just not big on patches.
