I went to catholic school as a teenager so I couldn't dye my hair or get piercings, I had to wear a uniform and we weren't allowed to wear makeup, not even nail polish. The only thing we were allowed to wear were braceletes so I used to wear like a hundred of them. I remember as soon as I would get home on friday I would paint my nails black. I think my style would have evolved a lot faster if I had had the chance to be myself in those years.

I feel this. Except mine wasn't religion, but just an incredibly judgemental mother that snuffed my creativity through fear of persecution. We all develop at our own pace, and I hope you're in a better position to express yourself more openly. :)

And this is why I prayed for uniforms, and still do now that I have four girls, almost 15 down to 10 months old. I never had the chance to "express myself" in high school, but it was parents (went to a regular public high school, but worse because it was in a pretty rich area) who did that and I was teased and picked on relentlessly through school for looking like I had ZERO fashion sense, and looked like I was wearing Wal-Mart hand-me-downs. But that's the point, even without the religion involved, school is not the place for that kind of distraction (because sweet Jesus we had a lot of kids that took the alternative styles to levels I've barely ever even seen in clubs!) it's strictly for education. Level the playing field in school, just as that Catholic high school did for you, and it will greatly reduce bullying. By no means will we ever eliminate it, but that would be a huge push in the right direction. Probably would have been able to graduate on time with a much higher GPA if I hadn't tested too low to get sent to the local all girls Catholic high school like the parents wanted!

Uhm, I wouldn't say that that's a Hufflepuff trait. A friend of mine doesn't really care about animals (not that she treats them badly, it's just not her thing) but is still Hufflepuff through and through.

She would be the exception, not the rule. Hufflepuffs are generally regarded as loving nature, probably with a heavy focus on plants, but definitely with animals too.

I love that you were given the liberty to be yourself at such a young age. I was always forced into being a certain way, and anything different was bad and wrong. Even til this day it's hard for me to try to be any different because I start remembering the constant no's and the shaming. It's slowly going though lol I'm turning 30 in a few months. Who knows, I'll probably just damn it all to hell and do whatever the hell I want with my appearance, finally! Lol You are an amazing, beautiful human and I wish you nothing but good in the world ❤🖤

The most hilarious thing about it is we never got an explanation as to why he was there or why he was playing dead. lol But yes, that was funny as hell and I couldn't stop thinking about it as I was trying to watch the rest of the video! Not gonna lie, I legit thought he was actually dead for a second and was like "Wtf? Is this a cursed image?"

You can never show us enough old photos, no matter how cringe. I was always the last one to want to be in a picture during my teens and as a result have almost no pics from my teen years to reminisce. Those single moments hinting at a fun and joyful life being lived are priceless. Now to roast that last pic. Remember the Jim Carrey movie Liar Liar? The woman who went a bit extreme with her hair? That was her rampaging after he had no choice but to tell her the truth.

Omgg I seriously love your style (back then, and now). I’m so jealous. just like these other comments, I wish I looked like that when I was 14 haha. Really good makeup (/makeup skills), as well as your style- as I mentioned previously-was actually super cute! I could only imagine having that kind of confidence at that age. I still don’t have that much confidence at my current age either lol
