@@kenmassey6905 Here's another "fact". A violin bow was NOT used in this song. It was strictly a music video prop. The violin sounds were being produced by John Sykes manipulating his tone and volume controls on his guitar. Also, side "fact". The guitarist in this video isn't even John Sykes. Fake replacement guitarist in the video using a fake prop.

I fucking saw this tour! I saw the first 3 tours! YEE-HAW!!! Aaaauuuhhhg! Still of Night! Cool Moonlight! I was eighth row for this one and it was DAMN LOUD! I don’t think people who weren’t there understand just how fucking LOUD some of these concerts were! This was before all the limitations and whatever people complained about. Drinking, smoking, getting loud and rowdy, we didn’t just sit there! Weed getting passed around was standard operating procedure. Those were the days as they say. 😁👍 We Rocked and Partied Hard in the 80’s! I’m sure some of today’s younger people would be shocked at how we did it. Pretty sure your mouth would be hanging open! Ha Ha! WHOOoooo!

In the video for "Still of the Night", part of the instrumental string interlude is visualized using a bow on an electric guitar but the strings were recorded by Don Airey using either a synthesizer or a sampler. Also, it's funny that the only person in the video that is actually on that recording is Coverdale.

The bow on the guitar is for style points only. That's a cello tune that's actually being played by a synthesizer. At least that's how it was in concert when I saw them on this tour back in '87. Great band, legendary track though! So awesome to see black people love this kind of music! I think this music could bring us back together.

I went to see Whitesnake every time I could, they are amazing live. Today it may seem like a typical 80's rock song, but back then it was a real banger that got a lot of attention. White Snake was sort of known as a 70's rock band on their last leg until this album, when they came out with this banger like "Sit the fuck down 'cause we ain't done yet". BTW - The girl is actress Tawney Kitaen (1961-2021), may she rest in peace.

That beautiful actress is Tawney Kittaine. R.I.P. She died recently, I think. What many people don't know; is that O.J. Simpson also dated Tawney, shortly before, she started dating David. David stayed over one night, O.J. still had a key. David woke up in the middle of the night, to find O.J. hovering about 3 inches above his face, threatening to kill him. David Coverdale is a lucky man.

When this album came out myself and young lady fell in love listening to it. I married that lady. Fall in love all over whenever I hear it. Thank you.

The lead singer, David Coverdale was in his mid to late 30s at the time of this song. Can you imagine as a rock singer that you'd still have pipes like this at that age???

Whitesnake never sounded like anyone else, they had a sound all of their own.

Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page was doing the bow on the guitar back in the ‘70’s. He was the OG…

Unfortunately Whitesnake did not actually use a violin bow on guitar for that effect, that was just for show for the video. They did use a cello or viola in studio when recording that part, saw a rockumentary years ago

This was the first CD I received when I was about 12 or 13. The songs and the music still bring back a lot of good memories for me.

Grew-up in the 70s, but the 80s music was equally banging. Just when you thought "excess" was the definition of the 70s, the 80s came rolling along.

If you love this music you need to check out Blue Murder. John Sykes left Whitesnake after this album and formed Blue Murder. Their 1st album is a masterpiece

Jeeze I feel old - not one person knew who "the lady" Tawny Kitaen was.

None of the guys in this video except Coverdale were on the recording of this song. They did tour with Coverdale to support this album. The first to leave after the tour was Vivian Campbell, who Coverdale didn't get along with. Campbell joined Def Leppard a few years later.

the singer, David Coverdale and the model Tawny Kitaen were married at this time. unfortunately Kitaen died just a few years later. the bands name Whitesnake 'supposedly' came from Davids own trouser snake which is/was reeportedly pretty big........dont know about Sykes but i do know Adrian Vandenberg is one hell of a guitarist
