Reaction: Nightwish Lyric Videos Pt 1 (Music, Endlessness, & Tribal)

I was so surprised to see Nightwish release a lyric video for all of the songs on the first part of the album, once I realized this was the case, I decided to do this, a two part series where we listen to those songs together!

I agree 100% with the "slow burn" part haha Me hearing Procession for the first time: zzz Me hearing again: wait a minute Me reading the lyrics and understand everything: ♥ mindblow ♥ I think this album is awesome if people dont rush and saviour it properly. Thanks for not being a hater ♥ I'm sick of people bashing NW because they are still living in the past.

Honestly, I've always enjoyed when bands grow, experiment, and make the music that speaks to them. If they didn't do what was in their hearts, they're going to get stagnant and stop creating, then everyone loses! Change is healthy! ♥ Me saying it felt like a slow burn wasn't a critique on sounding different from old stuff either! The first Nightwish albums were also slow burns for a much younger me! I liked a lot of it, but didn't love it, they were just a band that was on my radar and popped up here and there for me on playlists. It's really only been in the last couple of years that I started adding more and more of their songs to my daily mixes and then this past year something just clicked for me and I realized "Hold the fuck up, I fucking love this band." lmfaooo! People definitely shouldn't be bashing, like the cute internet song says "It's ok to not like things, but don't be a dick about it." lol kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZtKRaKdz2bW6fn0.html

Visual in my head thousands of people at the live concerts breaking out into the skeleton dance during that song.... My favorite of them all and its way too short. The skull would make a great Tshirt and I want one

Omg, I completely agree that song is way too short. Also, yes, I’m seeing them in NYC in September (as long as things don’t get postponed) and I should learn the little dance! 😂

About Music. Tuomas said in a Q&A that that was the de facto biggest challenge for him to write. He originally wanted to encompass a lot of different musical styles into it, the entire evolution of music into one music. When he made the original demo he said it was horrible and absolutely pretentious crap (I'm qouting him here xD ), and you did really well picking up on that intention from the first hearing. Furthermore, in the lyrics there are references to other tracks on the album. (Dance with Pan, the brave drum from the Moors, Leave the Noise behind) It's basically an intro, a sort of the contents page in a book of that album, but also in a book of music.

The first thing came to my mind when I hear the first part of music is Paleolithic sound Btw I hope them open every HN concert with Music and end them with Endlessness

Music is a great opener with the build up for sure! I can't help but feel they should end all shows forever with Greatest Show on Earth though. But I might be biased. LOL

@@ZombieGirlie I would like to see the greatest show on earth to be included in their setlist as well, which I think pretty much will be included. In terms of order I think The Greatest Show On Earth then Procession and then Endlessness would be cool. Bc Procession's narrative directly follows the last part of the greatest show on earth.

3:17: that Hellblade comment: YES YES AND YES. When I first listened to this I was thinking WAIT A MINUTE! Am I listening to Heilung!? (Heilung is the band that did the song in the Hellblade 2 trailer).

Don't know about anyone else, but that last song I had my volume full blast and could barely hear you, could just be my end, but rest of vid volume was fine.

If you noticed the last song got louder part way through and I said something about it being quieter! It was because when I opened all the windows my YT volume was turned down, I turned it up on all of them but missed that one on accident. My mic volume shouldn’t have been different the entire time though, so not sure why you wouldn’t have been able to hear me. 🧐

Have you seen the How’s The Heart live acoustic video yet I had that exact same reaction to the dancing skeletons. I wanna see people doing that when the play this live and I wanna see Floor doing it when they play it live. I’d like to know who’s idea that was, I’m guessing either Emppu or Troy.

I can't seem to put my finger on why but parts of Endlessness really remind me of something I heard by Stratovarius.. I'm pretty sure I heard Tuomas saying at one point Stratovarius was an influence on the band. I'm not complaining at all. I absolutely love this album.

@@ZombieGirlie yep! They're a Finish power metal band. They have some pretty amazing songs as well. I haven't had a chance to look up what song it reminds me of but if I find it I'll come back here and post a link for you if you'd like

@@ZombieGirlie I didn't find it yet but I did find a part of a Stratovarius song that came out in 2003 that sounds an awful lot like a part of Ever Dream by Nightwish that came out in 2002. Look up Stratovarius - elements and listen at I think the 1:27 mark then on the studio version of ever dream check at I think the 50 second mark give or take. It's at a minute something on the love wacken version. I'm pretty sure nightwish returned the favor with Endlessness just haven't found it yet hah
