The animations are Aboriginal artwork as the song is talking about the land (Solid Rock, Sacred Ground) and the Aboriginal experience before and after white settlement. The lyrics are deeply emotional.

This Aussie Classic came out in 1982. It's about when the white man landed on these shores. That instrument at the start is the didgeridoo..an Aboriginal instrument. Lyrics....Out here nothin' changes Not in a hurry anyway You can feel the endlessness With the comin' of the light of day You're talkin' 'bout a chosen place You wanna sell it in a marketplace, well Well, just a minute now You're standin' on solid rock Standin' on sacred ground Livin' on borrowed time And the winds of change Are blowin' down the line Right down the line Well, round about the dawn of time The dreamin' all began A crowd of people came Well, they were lookin' for their promised land We're runnin' from the heart of darkness Searchin' for the heart of light With their paradise Well, they were standin' on solid rock Standin' on sacred ground Livin' on borrowed time And the winds of change Were blowin' cold that night, oh Well, they were standin' on the shore one day Saw the white sails in the sun Wasn't long before they felt the sting White man, white law, white gun Don't tell me that it's justified 'Cause somewhere, someone lied Yeah, well someone lied Someone lied Genocide Well, someone lied And now you're standin' on solid rock Standin' on sacred ground Livin' on borrowed time And the winds of change Are blowin' down the line Solid rock Standin' on sacred ground Livin' on borrowed time And the winds of change Are blowin' down the line Solid rock Standin' on sacred ground Livin' on borrowed time And the winds of change Are blowin' down the line No!

In the 70s white Australians finally started to acknowledge that there was a far older culture in this land that predated European settlement by 60,000 years. The rock art and the sounds in the video are all part of that aboriginal culture. The band Goanna may have been making a music video but there were also making a statement.

If you talk over a song you will never ever get the meaning, they said "Standing on the shore one day they saw the white sails in the sun". And you talked over the top of it, how would you get the meaning of this song??? Stop talking and listen to the lyrics.

I'm sorry but I can't stand reactions to music or songs as it's always being paused or talked over. The whole point to music videos is to watch and listen to it. Pointless interrupting the music clip although KZfaq will mark it as copyright or whatever their useless terms are. Going to react then it should be after the song.

If reactors don’t pause all throughout songs and comment then none of their videos will make it for us to watch. They are copywrited therefore the pausing has to happen. The comments have to happen. It’s KZfaq’s way now sadly.
