(Around 0:58) Didn't notice this till someone pointed it out, Rex took a slight jab at Sidious there because at that moment he finally made the connection of who The Sith Lord was. It genuinely caught Sidious a little off guard, with that brief scorne before ending the transmission, to realize just how close so many Jedi were to finding out his identity that even some of The Clones could have speculation...
@rain-el9381

I believe Sidious’ order 66 message was sent to multiple clone commanders at once, starting with Cody because Cody was the highest ranking clone commander. Sidious personally have Cody the order and dispersed a recorded message to the rest of the GAR. Cause why would we really sit there and personally FaceTime every clone commander in the galaxy back to back. Doesn’t make sense.
@rain-el9381
@rain-el9381 Жыл бұрын
It’s also possible he saw to it that he personally gave the order to the clone commanders currently in theater with anakin’s closest friends. (Obi-Wan and Ashoka) almost as an added measure, he knew if anyone were to bring anakin back it would’ve been one of those two.

@@zj0ker208 no, think about it like this. There were hundreds of Jedi and thousands of Clone leadership deployed around the galaxy at the end of the clone wars. Palpatine had to address the senate later that night as to why the Jedi were being extinguished. Like how in the bad batch, Tech explains that the main comms channel used by the GAR was just repeating “execute order 66” we also hear it in the first episode of Kenobi. I like to believe that Cody and Rex received personal orders from Sidious, being commanders for anakin’s master and his apprentice. while the rest of the GAR just got that recording.

The editing talent shown in this scene is incredible, having Hayden’s archived audio say ‘it’s not the Jedi way’ and ‘He must live’ and then having Matt record the line ‘What have I done?’ Is brilliant because it combines both actors who’ve given so much life and dimension to a character we all love and who is ultimately a tragic figure, obviously we must also recognise Jake Lloyd who played him in TPM and who began his story as an innocent slave who dreamed of being more than what everyone said he was capable of, the core story for Anakin from The Phantom Menace to Return Of The Jedi is one of both balance and inevitability he was always destined to destroy The Emperor but he took the dark path to get there, the way both George Lucas and Dave Filoni weaved these stories into one giant epic tale is nothing short of incredible and I hope these stories are watched and studied for decades

Because the Clone Wars did a better job at getting you invested in the characters and the setting than the prequels did on their own. the tragedy that Order 66 was supposed to feel like only becomes that way after seeing the bond between Jedi and Clones play out on screen and learning that the Clones were just as much unwitting victims as the Jedi, along with getting to see the Jedi do more good deeds and be more than just arrogant assholes.

Fives may be dead, but if he didn't expose the truth, Rex would never have known what to say. Rex knew what the truth was as soon as the chip activated. He was the only one that said "Lord Sidious" and the only one able to break free from the chip for even a few seconds. This ripped my heart to shreds.

@@christopherhill6790 The corruption was deep in the rest of the system, too, which was probably why it was able to fall at all. The Jedi were embedded in the republic/ politics, meanwhile letting millions rot in slavery, oppression, and poverty: some of which could have been helped. They also couldn't even detect a sith lord in their presence, but I'm a bit unclear as to why (except maybe they lost connection to the force due to their corruption?) The senate was also corrupt and ineffective, or played right into the hands of those seeking to manipulate it, especially Palpatine. It would have collapsed sooner or later, even if Palpatine was stopped. Turning all that around seems unlikely if not impossible.

Even during his downfall, anakins training and love for ahsoka is what kept her alive in those moments. Are you telling me she would have died without all that training….

The tension in the minutes leading up to this moment is so well done. You can tell exactly what’s about to go down and yet you’re still not ready for it when it happens.

If Rex didn't stop those two clones behind Ashoka, she could've died the same as Secura, that little delay Rex telling them he'll do it was enough for her to escape

What made this scene so great was we didn’t know exactly when order 66 would come down. If it would happen on Mandalore, in transit (when it happened), or by Coruscant so it was as unexpected for us as it was the Jedi

We all hate Order 66 because of one real factor - We never see the bad guys win. It is very very rare for bad guys to actually win in a franchise or series. the hero always saves the day, but at this point in the star wars history, it happens.The bad guys snuff out the light and rule unchallanged. Their plan succedes, the jedi are destroyed, the republic is overthrownand the sith rule the new Empire. The Bad win, and the good loses, so it hit REALLY hard.

I was not expecting her to sense everything that was happening in that moment like my gosh this moment was intense and also just when Asoka was talking to mace but then left and he said that quote from EP 3, "I sense it's a plot to destroy the Jedi the dark side of the force surrounds the chancellor." And the Anakin dark deeds score from episode 3. I finished watching season 7 just now and wow just my gosh

@@DrForrester87 nah you can hear them getting the transmission after she has already walked past them, so they didn't receive the order at the same time as Rex. They then immediately turn to shoot, but Rex, trying to resist the order says he'll do it instead and buys her a few seconds

To the ones saying she isn’t a Jedi, she fought with that regiment for so many battles. They all look up to her and see her as a Jedi even if she is not officially the Jedi. Besides this, I’m sure they were meant to kill any force sensitives they knew about. Knowing Sidious he wouldn’t wont potential stumbling blocks.
