Reading confession: I always get a little bit jealous whenever someone mentions that they are reading Harry Potter for the first time. I wish I could go back and experience it for the first time. Enjoy!

Movie Ron is really such a problem. They did him wrong. In the movies he’s kind of like an air headed comedic relief, but in the books he is very well rounded and honestly a great character.

Oh you thought Harry was sassy in the first book? He gets SO sassy as the series goes on. His one liners are ICONIC.

I find it interesting that some parents didn’t allow their children to read Harry Potter because of religious beliefs but my family was the opposite. We are religious and my parents LOVE the series and it was something the whole family bonded over. We would have HP parties and on Halloween we would dress up as the characters. It just gives me so many memories of my family and childhood.

The snake scene was DEFINITELY in the movie, it's just right at the beginning.

Some people who read the books thought Harry and Hermione were end game too, but I think especially if you saw the movies. The guy who did the screenplay seems to have a heavy preference for Harry and Hermione moments and often gives Ron’s moments/lines to Hermione 😬😬

I loved this video so much!! As someone who’s read the books 4 times, watching someone discover the magic of Harry Potter for the first time was so special. Elias’s comments were so funny, both because they were very true and because I know the characters so well. His comments about the trio were so on point. I love sassy Harry so much! My favorite book is the fourth, by the first book has extreme nostalgia for me since I first read the books when I was 11.

Yesss, i'm on book 5 right now! I've always been a big fan but I never read the books as a kid because I wanted to read them in english but my mom only had them in spanish. I don't know why it took me a such a long time to read them since I'm 19 already, and my whole family has always loved HP.

This was so fun to watch! I go back and forth, but I think I have to say that book 3 is my favorite (you called it haha). It just made a really big impact on me the first time I read it and so for that reason I feel like it deserves the spot as my favorite. That being said, I thought that 7 was fantastic and such a wonderful wrap up of the story so that is a close second, with book 6 right up there as well.

My mom didn’t want me reading Harry Potter either for religious reasons. She still doesn’t, I’m 32. However, my dad, who was a pastor, was happy I was enjoying reading. My 4th grade class was reading it before school closed and it was just as magical as it was when I read it and I can’t wait to read it all over again. Book 4, Goblet of Fire is my favorite one and I love book 6 Half-Blood Prince too. Book 5 Order of the Phoenix made me throw it across the room a few times.

I’m 5 books in for the first time and I love it. I was suprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. The magic of reading my fav of the series(#3) is something I can still feel and I get jealous of people that felt that as a child.

I've read the entire series around 8 or 9 times now (I've lost count) and I still get so much joy from the first book every single time. There are a few scenes like when Harry and Ron meet on the train for the first time, and when they save Hermione from the troll and they finally become friends, that make me tear up every single time. I adore the first book and still feel like they only get better as time goes on. Book 7 is by far my favourite, but I absolutely love them all! Hope you get to read all of them!!

Wow, i feel you on a deep level. When i was younger (10 or so) our church had a lot to do with why i threw away my Harry Potter DVDs. I never got to read the books, such a missed magical opportunity. Now i’m 26, 27 in a few days and i am halfway done with Sorcerer’s Stone. Your experience reading this made my heart warm up

I'm a religious person, and I love Harry Potter, but I know what you're talking about. Dad always told us it was devil material. Now Mom and I are making him read them and as much as he doesn't want to admit it, it's obvious that he is enjpying them.

I read the first book as soon as it was available in the US, way back in... I think it was 1998. 3 is my childhood fave (I started reading when there were only 4 books out) but my overall favorite is 6, but objectively the best-written book is 4, but the one I'd save in a fire is 7. I love them all and I've read them 80+ times each but it is SO FUN to see someone read them for the first time

I actually read Harry Potter as an adult! I read it for the first time 2 years ago and FELL. IN. LOVE. with the series. I totally wish I read this book as a kid cause now I feel like I missed out on soo much!

One thing to note regarding sorting - it's not so much about the traits that you have, but the traits that you value. What's most important to you. Intelligence, creativity, wisdom Bravery, chivalry, boldness Ambition, cunning, achieving Fairness, loyalty, hard-working I think we're fairly similar, in that I can see myself in several of the houses, and I have a lot of the above qualities in various degrees. But when it comes down to what I most value, I'm a Hufflepuff, no question.

I wasn’t allowed to read anything that was not the Bible, homework, or extra study materials. I remember in first grade, reaching out to touch the cover of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, shaking and anxious that my mom would find out that I HELD a book about magic. My little six year old self would sit during recess in the shade and read as much as I could each day, looking up furtively, utterly convinced my mom was going to swoop and and beat the beejeezus out of me 😂 I laugh now, but I can still feel the anxiety I felt while trying to experience this new magical world in secret. That’s basically how I read Harry Potter growing up, the school library. Hogwarts became my home, the characters my friends, and the world my anchor. Nostalgia doesn’t even begin to cover the emotions and memories the Harry Potter series evokes for me. It saved me in a lot of ways from a really messed up home life and domestic violence. It made life liveable. Most of my good childhood memories revolve around these characters and their adventures and the adventures I wanted to take part of in that world. And although my regard for J.K Rowling as a person has declined significantly and I do not much like her. I am grateful for the experience that so many of us latched on to and have made our own.

The snake part in the begging of the book in the zoo was in the movie but they never mentioned anything about harry only going because the person couldnt look after him or anything about dudleys friend but the part with the snake was in the movie just a little bit differant.:)

as someone who didn't read the books till I was 17 because I am a snob who just doen't like to read the superpopular books, so when I read them it had to be a challenge for me so I decided to read them in french the language I was learning at the time. It was quite an interesting read I had only seen 2 or 3 in the movies in disorder so not any real spoilers for me as I forgot about most of of what I had seen
