The more you listen, the sleepier you get, at the same time that you learn about bedtime procrastination (I think, I'm falling asleep).

Yes!! You have no idea how much I need it this. The last video didn't work for me anymore because I had watched it so many times I already kinda memorized some parts, and it was interesting too so it distracted me.

I really enjoyed this. Didn't end up at all sleepy but I only had this on in the background rather than paying attention. I am going to re-listen when I can pay attention, the paper is quite interesting. I remember many years ago when only the computer geeks (looks uncomfortably innocent) would be the ones up half the night programming, chatting online etc. When social networking became a big thing in the mid to late 00's we started to see adverts providing creams etc to address the physical appearances of bedtime procrastination.

Hello braincraft I have a message i hope gets thru So i been a subscriber for as long as i can remember being curious on KZfaq. I put u in the category of Veritasium, vsauce and smarter everyday. I really enjoyed your reading, but I'm going to gently add a missed variable. There have been lots of studies on the ADRB1 and NPSR1 genes that suggest there are people who genetically require less sleep. This can lead to sleep procrastination with the exemption of the ill side effects. The addition of this variable may provide a "control" group for your paper.

It's also unclear how insomnia affects sleep procrastination at this stage. This was a qualitative/exploratory study so no control group at this stage, but genetic factors are def something to look into in sleep studies in general

Well I do hope you get enough interaction that you post more. Not sleepy time at all. As someone who can count on one hand how many times I've gotten more than 6 hours of sleep, I am the epitome of sleep procrastination. Mostly tho it's because I hate waking up early as I'm wont to do. Bedtime of 12-1am with a wake-up of 6-7am suits me fine. BTW, if you're interested, I can describe what "too much" sleep does on a person like me. More than 8 hours for someone like me feels like, for lack of a better explanation, intoxication. I'm more tired than if I hadn't slept and almost feel drunk, or drugged. It's a terrible feeling to say the least. Suffice it to say, I was in bed at almost 2am last night. Up at 645am today. Feeling great. @@braincraft

I appreciate this, I have trouble falling asleep. But next time, can you try reading something less interesting? Maybe try reading out math word problems and their solutions. I already know I'll be back to re-listen to this again later so I can take notes. Hehehe no really, fr. . P. S. You have a pleasant voice and a good reading speed. : )

30 minutes and it didn't work. Your paper was too interesting! I'll take another melotonin and listen to John Michael Gotier next - I'm part of his sleep club. His videos are also interesting but far removed from my daily life.
