Really happy you're trying this one out! Super underrated fighter that not many people got to enjoy back in the day due to lack of ports. Also, just to clarify for KZfaq search purposes, this is Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers. Not just "Fatal Fury 2" that's the classic series. It's a confusing naming convention sometimes. "Real Bout" is kind of like the Alpha line, in that it was meant to be a sort of soft reboot/refresh, rather the the "prequel" route Alpha took.

It's not Fatal Fury 2, It's Real Bout Fatal Fury 2, it's like the sixth or seventh in the Fatal Fury series. Great game

Calling this Fatal Fury 2 is like calling Alpha 2 as Street Fighter II.

The fact that he finished the whole game without using D (change planes) or even a super is like when you buy a new tool and do not want to read the manual to learn how to use and end using a drilling machine as a hammer.

That's Real Bout Fatal Fury 2. The one where Terry has a slide kick special and Power Dunk was a command move for some reason....

This is NOT (quite) Fatal Fury 2, is Real Bout Fatal Fury 2, and the game is really fun, kind of a shame you didn't get the Alfred fight, but that alone is a feat to achieve even if you fail the fight (yeah, is one of those that you only have a single try and failing it is an instant Game Over, but in this case you still get the ending like nothing happened, same with Real Bout Fatal Fury Special), the conditions to fight Alfred are the following: Never lose a round, get at least 750,000 score by the point you defeat either Geese or Krauser, KO your opponent with 7 S-Power moves (like Terry's Power Geyser or Krauser's Kaiser Wave) or 5 P-Power moves (like Geese's Deadly Rave or Terry's Triple Geyser) by the point you defeat either Geese or Krauser, if done right, you get a tiny scene with Alfred's arrival. Edit: It would be very interesting to see you play Fatal Fury 3 AND being actually able to beat it, yeah, Fatal Fury 3 was the 1st of the series that if you don't play well overall, the game won't allow you to fight the true final boss(es), just like in Garou if you don't play well overall, the game won't allow you to fight Kain and get your ending or SVC Chaos were not fighting Red Arremer or Athena is a bad ending.

Gotta love seeing RBFF2. Such a good game, I used to play this with one of my friends on the PS2 many years ago. There's a lot of crazy things you can do. Thanks for the upload Justin!

One of my favorite games. Was very famous in Brazil, we have this arcade in many malls. Like the first real bout, Kim is still a king. I play a lot of the bogard brothers too. Also Ricky Strowd is a very cool char, i used him a lot since a like boxers

Krauser is basically SNK's Raoh from Hokuto no ken.

The combo path on Real Bout: FF 1&2 and Mark of the Wolfs sold it me always need it on my fightcade to practicing combos is interesting even without learning the special move cancel.

FF RBS and RBS 2(this game) uses a chain combo system. I hope you play FF RBS my favourite FF game, maybe you can practice some chain combos with Kim and Hon Fu. That would be dope.

Great video! Like someone said, it's Real Bout Fatal Fury 2. The Fatal Fury 2 was released in 1992. I would like to see you playing the 1st Real Bout Fatal Fury because it has some very interesting mechanic of winning the round if you launch the enemy out of the ring.

Great video! I love the neo geo but I never really played the fighters all that much in the arcade back in the 90’s. The difficulty of cpu was to insane and I just didn’t want to spend the time and money to figure it out. Playing at home now I still have trouble even on lower difficulty settings. But unlimited credits makes it easier to chew.

That was really funny how you tea bagged the Boss before you killed him. It reminded me of Virtua Fighter where you fuzzy guard, but it means something totally different than in 2D fighters. It's not about hitting a crouching opponent with a jumping attack overhead, it's a defensive option where you try to time your crouches so that you duck the fastest high attack and throws, then stand up to block the slower mid attacks and then crouch again to block the slowest attack, the low, and also again avoid high attacks and throws. When done correctly with the right timing, it looks like you're teabagging, because you're fucking an 8 frame jab, then standing up for a 12 frame mid, and then crouching again to block a 18 frame low. With those short intervals, it looks like you're teabagging, especially if the opponent does nothing and just stands there blocking. Pretty funny stuff.

And Rick Stroud's "Exceed the Limit" theme (arranged) is quite possibly the most underrated track in vg history.

This was my favorite game back when I would play arcade games on an emulator. I only wished the game came out with some sort of storyline or post win quotes, it seemed so bare-bones in that aspect

I remember playing this in the arcades back in the day. The setting on the cabinet made all of kaiser's supers drop you to half red bar from max health. I love how SNK always gave Kaiser's stage music from Mozart's Requiem.

If you get an S in every round and end with either a super or ultra you'll end up fighting Alfred. You're not a real warrior until you've beaten him 😜 This game is awesome. I think this is the first fatal fury with faint move's to extent your combos. Also some secret moves here and there. Definitely one of my favorite games.

The cpu in this game is notoriously cheap when it wants to be so i always use the easy super code. All supers are down twice and the attack button as long as you have a full bar or flashing health.

I played that one in Arcades I liked it a lot although not as much as Real Bout 1, the one that I hardly saw in Arcade was Fatal Fury 3, although thank goodness because it is one of the most difficult xD and the commands to change planes are very complicated, I'm glad that SNK simplified that gameplay.

The trick is you sidestep and you hit with your heavy punch or kick into low punch to heavy punch to heavy kick to anything or even super thats how you do combo. You can even start into jumping heavy kick or punch into combo Im pretty good with that game but its ff special with geese secret boss, love mary, terry, kim, hon-fu, tung

Btw, It will be awesome to see Justin playing RB Dominated Mind.

I would debate that I almost prefer it over Garou, but Garou MOTW really has a beautiful and special place in my heart so I love both games ❤️🥺 especially the ending of Terry on Garou it gets me everytime And all three KOF Maximum Impact games are amazing with the three Fatal Fury anime ovas and they show Terry's character at his best! 🥰 (it's a shame MIRA had no story mode, I wanted Soiree back after the fact that they added Ash in MIRA!)

super under appreciated game this, definitely the best fatal fury game up to that point, utill mark of the wolves, fatla fury 3 was all right but real bout holds a special place especially since it was one of the first import saturn games i had.

Fatal Fury Special was my favorite to play

Even the original Fatal Fury 2 was tough. I had it on the Sega Genesis and it was great.

I don't know what it is about Real Bout 2, but this game is just 100% my aesthetic in every way. On top of that, it's just really fun to play. I still go back and mess around with the arcade mode every once in a while; and I usually end up watching the Real Bout episode of Friday Night Fisticuffs a few times a year.

i dun want to double post but i kept on repeating the rounds with Rick coz his stage bgm sounds so epic, makes me sad that such a cool character with a very good bgm won't be in any future kof.

I'm surprised you've never played this before. Back in my day I was -good- at this game, but I had lots of experience with RB1 and RB Special. Both of them feature button pressing combos, similar to Darkstalkers. Also, you kept trying to play this like SF / KOF... and the game just isn't set up like that. Jin Chonrei (Vegeta guy) was the secret boss in Fatal Fury 3, that's why his music sounds so Final Bossy. And... you still need to fight the TRUE final boss of this game. :)

This isn't Fatal Fury 2. This is Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 as it is apart of the Real Bout Fatal Fury sub series to the main Fatal Fury trilogy. Just like how Street Fighter Alpha is a sub series to the main series Street Fighter games.

Hey you did great for what seems like a blind run, but you can learn launcher combos those usually are a lot of damage, and also you can punish a lot of CPU whiffs with combo moves into super, or confirm from light punch - kick into super, so the game isn't as hard as it looks here.
