A lot of the characters from all assassin's creed are real. For example in AC2: -All of the Borgia and Medici families -De' Pazzi family -The Barbarigos - Machiavelli - Caterina Sforza -Girolamo Savonarola -Bartolomeo -etc...the list goes on, and this is only from 1 game.

It's one of the biggest theme icons in gaming. They entire way the atmosphere of assassin's Creed was back then. Hell I recently have been going back to all those old real life assassin parkour videos for some reason. After black flag, the franchise started going down hill. Very fast. I just hope mirage will do some justice for OG AC fans.

Al Mualim, Altair's master was one of the real founder of Assassin's order in Masyaf. His real name is Rashid ad-din Sinan also known as the old man of the mountains. It's crazy that Masyaf castle still exists to this day in Syria.
