In addition to his skill on the ball, he was defensively astute and so hardworking that he was played in the center on many occasions and was very able to cover for Madrid's deficiencies in the middle (of course not up to Makelele level). However, this took away some of the creative part of his game at Madrid. He and Makelele would have given Madrid a solid and creative core.

Reciently I saw that ESPN documentary about Los Galacticos. But I can say that this video contains the same or more information than that ESPN documentary. WOW man! What a great job you did.

Man, as much as I want to hate Perez for all the astronomical "star" signings at the behest of a coherent team (both in the 2000's and 2010's-now), this video made me respect him soo much more, considering how efficiently he overturned the huge debt Real had, on top of lacking fan support at Bernabeu.

That team, while unbalanced, during the Del Bosque era sometimes played such beautiful football. Still remember fondly how the team danced on the field with Zidane conducting the orchestra. Although the bad 2004-2006 and the fact that the teams during CR7's era were stronger, that was an unforgettable team.

Perez is a businessman and as much as we would like him to appreciate club legends more nobody could deny his huge impact for the club. He brought us were Real should be as the biggest club in the world.
