Parley is a term for having a discussion with an enemy or opposing side which is typically used in pirate fiction (unsure if actual pirates ever used the term) as a no attacking just have a discussion. Though with how English is it likely originated from French.

PurpleAlzir parler is the verb “to speak”. parley is basically the same thing except more specifically it means a sort of diplomatic discussion. classic case of english bastardizing french xD (it’s okay tho bc french does it to english now too)

OKAY BUT grog is actually rum and lime juice not “fresh seawater”. There’s no such thing, it would be salt water... the lime juice was added to stretch the alcohol and prevent scurvy

They meant fresh water, stored for sea use. Grog was made by watering down the rum. Citrus would be added to help prevent scurvy, and to mask the stale water flavor, but it wasnt always available.

I'd love to have the Mythical Kitchen actually do a video where they more earnestly recreate some of these foods, especially the bonzabeast stew. That looked like it had what would probably equate to crawfish, a lot of squash or zucchini, etc, and the eyeball was just the little mascot character messing around... I feel like it'd probably be actually pretty good.

I haven’t had an exceptionally difficult life but I have struggled with my own self and being happy with myself. That being said, watching you two everyday brings me so much joy and hope for life and just a general sense of happiness. You’re friendship and the way in which you’ve expanded the GMM family is so amazing. You two have helped me through so much for so many years and just seeing your guys’ lives and listening to your podcasts and just every aspect of you two lifts me up everyday. Keep on keeping on guys. Keep making amazing videos and I just want to thank you guys for everything that you’ve given to me even if you don’t realize this. I don’t even care if you guys see this. I just want those who do see this to understand the amazing work you do in keeping the youth alive within yourself and everyone that follows you. Thank you Rhett and Link.
